Spring Voyages & Special Event Baja Adventure

Feb 26 - Mar 5, 2020 <-- SOLD OUT! Now taking 2021 reservations (dates TBD). Join CMA for a trip that truly is the journey-of-a-lifetime! During this nine-day ocean voyage we spend three exciting days anchored in San Ignacio Lagoon with friendly gray whales. Naturalist-led hikes on remote, offshore islands provide exceptional views of elephant seal rookeries, Guadalupe fur seals, a multitude of birds, diverse geological formations and a wide range of native vegetation. Thirty participants will eat well and sleep comfortably on the 113foot Royal Polaris, leaving from San Diego (bus transportation between CMA and San Diego is provided). Whalewatching with Cabrillo Whalewatch

Through mid-April Go to sea in search of migrating Pacific gray whales and a host of other marine life, such as dolphins, seals and sea lions. Whalewatch naturalists, trained by CMA and the American Cetacean Society, lead two-to-three-hour boat trips from various landings. Join the excitement by calling Cabrillo Whalewatch, Tuesdays through Fridays, 8:30am to 1pm at 310-548-7770. Channel Islands Adventure: Santa Cruz Island (Prisoners Harbor) and Anacapa Island

Saturday, June 6 8:15am - 5:30pm Discover the wonders of the Channel Islands as you join CMA educators on an adventure to Santa Cruz and Anacapa Islands, which are part of the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary. Experience the islands on naturalist-led hikes with a chance to view endemic wildlife and plants. On Santa Cruz, you might spot the island fox and on Anacapa, you’ll walk among nesting gulls and their chicks. Visit our website or call 310-5487562 for more details. Reservations are required. Book Release Party - You’re Invited!

Saturday, April 4 6:00pm - 9:00pm We are pleased to present the newest edition of the Miller and Lea’s Guide to the Coastal Marine Fishes of California, a comprehensive identification guide encompassing all shallow water marine fishes within California waters. Keeping with tradition, this new version preserves the look and detailed line illustrations of the original but with over 200 additional species. Books will be available for $30. RSVP by March 28 at https://millerandlea.eventbrite.com. At the event, a presentation by Milton S. Love, Ph.D. and Julianne Kalman Passarelli, Ph.D will be followed by light refreshments and a book signing.
