PROPANE STORAGE

Implementing propane into floor heaters, brooders, spot heaters, water heaters and more offers clear benefits. Before you get started, it's important that you plan well to ensure success. Here are a few things to consider:

• Tank storage is crucial. Your Co-op Fuel Team member can advise on what size of bulk storage tank you should have installed to meet space requirements.

• Tank monitors give you peace of mind that your barn will be heated properly, no matter the time of day. Satellite monitors can alert both you and your supplier to current inventory levels and trigger a propane delivery when levels drop below 30 per cent.

• Proper ventilation will help remove toxic air and moisture from the operation that can harm your livestock. If you are unsure of the requirements, speak to your local governing body to find out what is needed for your operation.

• Safety is paramount — make sure your barn is clean, dry and at an optimal temperature for livestock to keep health issues to a minimum and unforeseen costs at bay.

When it comes to finding the right bulk propane storage for your farm or home, asking an expert will save you time and money in the long run. A.K.A. PIG TANKS

Best for applications such as propane water heaters, fireplaces, pool heaters and other small appliances.

500 GAL.

Best fit for smaller facility heating, such as cottages or homes, and must be installed at least 10' from buildings and property lines. These are approximately 3' 10" high and 9' 10" long, with a diameter of 38".

1,000 GAL.

Most common in residential, commercial and agricultural applications where consistent amounts of propane are consumed. These tanks must be installed 10' from buildings and 10' from property lines. They are approximately 4' 4" high and 15' 11" long, with a diameter of 41".

2,000 GAL. +

Best for high volume and BTUs that require a consistent flow of propane to fuel the application, such as group camp heating or large space heating.

Hydraulic locks on each circuit allow for a lowpressure catch and positivelocked hold. Individual circuit pressure controls for safe processing of all-sized animals.
