Partnerships Some of the ways the FCCA works with the cruise-oriented destinations include: • Port Improvements – The FCCA provides technical assistance on port expansion, including input on port and pier design, improvements and new services being planned. • Research – Research is conducted and provided to destination partners in an effort to create a better understanding of cruise passengers, improve the landside product delivery and maximize the benefits of cruise tourism. FCCA Outreach Program – FCCA training seminars provide destination partners with valuable information regarding cruise passengers – their wants, needs and habits – enabling them to maximize the impact of cruise tourists in their country. The FCCA offers the following training programs: • Service Excellence – Cruise Passengers Equal Profits: A workshop on the importance of excellent customer service and the economic impact of the cruise industry. A happy guest not only spends more money, but will return again and again, thereby producing greater profits and converting cruise passengers into return stay-over guests. • Taxi Pride: This presentation geared towards taxi drivers, tour operators and vendors providing ground transportation. This entertaining and informative workshop focuses on five main areas: courtesy, professionalism, marketing, rules and safety. • FCCA/Aquila Shore Excellence Training: Two-hour workshop that enables tour operators and destinations to discover tools that will assist them in reaching new levels of performance, productivity and profitability; build an action plan for exceeding the increasing expectations of the cruise lines, including evaluating your products and services; learn how shore excursions work, how the cruise industry operates and how to get a product in the hands of the right people at the cruise lines; and prepare for success by learning how to minimize risk and follow the processes required for effective risk management. Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association • FCCA/Aquila Tour Guide Excellence Training Course: This online international certification program’s primary objective is to teach participants what makes an excellent tour guide and the skills to turn that knowledge into a practical reality when guiding cruise shore excursions. The program involves six inter active sessions on cruise-specific topics, including: hospitality, service, research, presentation, preparation and risk management. Successful completion of an exam and video assessment at the conclusion of the course earns participants their international certification in tour guide excellence. (Subject to availability) In addition, the FCCA has designed outreach programs for destination requests, including, but not limited to, the following areas: cleaning beaches/roads, painting schools/hospitals/orphanages, hurricane clean-up, visiting elderly, community projects and volunteering at hospitals. In its 18 years of existence, the Foundation has impacted thousands of citizens by providing millions of dollars in funding and countless hours to causes and charities throughout the region. Programs include: • Holiday Gift Project – The FCCA reaches out to the Caribbean and Latin American destinations by providing gifts to children in foster homes or institutions where holiday gifts would not ordinarily be possible. The gifts are delivered on Member Lines’ vessels to the destinations, where the children enjoy a holiday party in their honor. In 2011, 32 destinations participated in the program, with over 6,500 children receiving holiday gifts. • Children’s Essay and Poster Competitions – The FCCA orchestrates these competitions in order to further the education of the youth in the FCCA’s destination partners by learning and thinking about their desti nations’ involvement in the cruise industry and allowing an opportunity for practical problem solving. There are junior (12 years and under) and senior (13-16) divisions, each receiving prizes of 1st-3rd place of 3,000; 1,500; and 1,000, respectively, for themselves and their schools, along with a $200 award for every finalist submitted by their countries. Foundation Events (every penny raised going to needy causes in the Caribbean and Latin America): • FCCA Online Auction – This project, which takes place in December each year, is open to anyone with a valid e-mail address. The auction allows guests to bid on items ranging from vacation packages, artwork, jewelry and sports memorabilia donated by the cruise lines and our partners throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. •

FCCA Gala – The Gala was created by the Member Lines 18 years ago to enable cruise executives and industry partners to gather on a social level and establish new relationships or enhance existing ones. Attendees dine with the cruise executive of their choice, giving them the opportunity to foster a better relationship with their table host.

FCCA Magazines and Publications: Cruising Magazine – Published quarterly, Cruising is the official magazine of the FCCA and cruise industry. It serves to educate and bring about an understanding of the cruise industry’s inner-workings. With a distribuCRUISE INDUSTRY PROFILES • 2012


Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association tion of over 18,000 magazines the FCCA magazine offers advertisers optimal access to travel agents and the decision makers in the marine operations and the marketing and strategic planning departments of the major cruise lines, along with providing cruise executives and the Caribbean and Latin American public and private sectors with information of the latest trend in the industry. • The “Highlight Issue” - Features a who’s who in the cruise industry and contains cruise executive profiles, along with information on the FCCA Member Lines. As a valuable tool, the Highlight Issue is essential when dealing directly with the cruise industry. • Membership Directory - The FCCA directory contains a complete listing of all FCCA Associate and Platinum Members, as well as cruise line executives and all ministers of tourism within partner destinations. • Conference Program and Gala Program - Delegates who attend these functions receive comprehensive programs packed with useful FCCA schedules, information and accomplishments. FCCA Cruise Conference & Trade Show: For many cruise executives and destinations, suppliers and tour operators, this is the premier industry event of the year, an opportunity to meet in a round-table format with key players to analyze industry trends and discuss current issues. The FCCA Conference brings together over 100 cruise executives and 1,000 industry partners. For 2012, the Conference will be held in Curaçao from Oct. 1–5. As the FCCA proceeds into tomorrow, it will remain steadfast in its mission to create win-win partnerships between the cruise lines and cruise destinations throughout the greater Caribbean and Latin American regions.

FLORIDA-CARIBBEAN CRUISE ASSOCIATION Michele M. Paige ~ President Michele M. Paige’s career in the cruise industry spans more than three decades. She spent 17 years in various positions at the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). In February of 1992, Ms. Paige came onboard with the FloridaCaribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) as its director of operations and communications, steering the association on issues such as: destination port development, product development, research and training, as well as serving as a liaison with environmental entities. She was appointed to head the association in January of 1994 as its executive director and named president in March 1997. Ms. Paige continues to chart a course in the development and implementation of the association’s numerous proactive, innovative programs, reporting directly to the association’s Executive Committee. Ms. Paige has initiated such impactful programs and forums as the annual FCCA Cruise Conference and Trade Show, the FCCA Foundation, the FCCA outreach programs, the FCCA associate membership programs, as well as training programs geared to taxi drivers and service providers, to name a few. More importantly, great strides have been made in the realization of the FCCA’s mandate: strengthening the ties between the cruise industry, the Caribbean and Latin America. Under her presidency, the association enjoys membership in the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), of which Ms. Paige is an Executive Committee Board Member, the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA), the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA), the Puerto Rico Shipping Association and the Special Olympics-Caribbean (of which Ms. Paige is a board member), as well as being a signator to the cruise industry’s “Memorandum of Understanding” with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Michele enjoys dual lifestyles in Southwest Ranches and Brooksville, Florida, doting on her two children, granddaughter, horses and dogs.



FCCA Staff Profiles Ana Maria Benitez ~ Membership Administrator Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised between Puerto Rico, South Florida and Colombia where her family is originally from, Ana Benitez is responsible for marketing and administering the Membership Programs. She serves as the major point of contact between the members and the FCCA by communicating updates on events, publications and financial affairs. She also assists in the organization of the Platinum Membership Advisory Council events and promotes the FCCA Foundation Poster Competition. Prior to joining the FCCA in 2011, she worked for Regus Group for 5 years as a Senior Client Service Representative where she oversaw the operations in her centers alongside the General Manager and trained new employees that were hired in her region. Ana currently resides in Miami Beach, Florida.

Omari Breakenridge ~ Director, Communications & Design Omari Breakenridge joined the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association in February 2005. He is currently the Director of Communications and Design, and is responsible for the creative direction and design of the FCCA's printed materials, including trade publications, conference collateral and multimedia presentations. Omari also initiates and maintains contact with the media issuing highly visible press releases for conferences, trade shows, gala awards, and charity events. In addition to his 10+ years of experience in creative design, Omari has worked within all platforms and is highly skilled in the latest technologies. He also handles the ongoing development of the FCCA’s database, e-mail marketing, website and video projects. To date, Omari has earned over a dozen industry awards in advertising, publication design and interactive media. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Miami Dade Colleges School of Entertainment & Design Technology, and is a member of the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals; the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the American Advertising Federation. Outside the office, he keeps himself busy regularly attending events in the Miami art and design scene along with pursuing his passion for photography.

Terri Cannici ~ Vice President, Operations Terri Cannici is responsible for the overall organization, coordination and marketing of the Annual Cruise Conference & Trade show and Central America Conference, conducting site inspections for future conferences and marketing and registration for the Annual FCCA Gala Dinner. She also organizes and coordinates the Holiday Gift Project along with FCCA Member Lines to provide holiday gifts for the under-privileged children in the Caribbean and Latin America. Prior to joining the FCCA in 1999, Terri worked for Royal Caribbean International for 10 years in the Shore Excursion Department, organizing and designing specialty programs for groups, as well as overseeing Royal Caribbean’s signature Golf Ahoy! Program. A native Floridian, Terri lives in the Ft. Lauderdale area with her husband and is actively involved with the Humane Society’s Animal Assisted Therapy program.



FCCA Staff Profiles Adam Ceserano ~ Sr. Vice President Adam Ceserano joined the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association in 2001 as the Manager of Marketing to increase the sales and rebrand the FCCA’s feature publication, “Caribbean Cruising,” as well as other various projects, which included the development of new sponsorship opportunities, training programs, and improved advertising opportunities. In 2006, he was later promoted to Director of Marketing and Sales, and later that year to the Vice President. Now as the Senior Vice President of the FCCA, Adam Ceserano currently oversees all day-to-day FCCA operations, marketing, advertising, sponsorships, and events. He coordinates and conducts the customer service training workshops, as well as the FCCA Outreach Program. He plays a vital role in implementation, site inspections and organization of all the FCCA’s conferences and tradeshows, including the FCCA’s Annual Golf Tournament. Adam Ceserano is also responsible for overseeing the FCCA’s exclusive Platinum Membership Program. Since Mr. Ceserano took the lead of the FCCA membership program, and through the guidance of the Operations Committee, the FCCA has developed more innovative program, with more benefits for its valued Platinum Members. Also, Mr. Ceserano works with Aon Risk Services to continually enhance and develop the FCCA’s Global Tour Operator Insurance Program. Mr. Ceserano continually works with Tropical Shipping, promoting the Cruise Conversion Program, which has 10 partner destinations at this time. He also participates on the FCCA's Security/Operations Committee and attends the FCCA Executive Committee meetings. Prior to joining the FCCA, Mr. Ceserano worked for Maxim Consulting in Ft. Lauderdale, servicing such clients as IBM, AT&T, South Florida Water Management, and Motorola. Adam worked for the Miami Dolphins in the Special Promotions and Marketing Department before going back to college for his Master’s Degree, in which he helped organize the children's program and special events. He attended Florida State University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Administration and also received a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management and Marketing.

James Kazakoff~ Sr. Director, Event Operations James Kazakoff currently holds the position of Senior Director of Event Operations at the FloridaCaribbean Cruise Association. He is responsible for overseeing the implementation and logistical aspects of all FCCA events, including the organization of the FCCA Cruise Conference and Tradeshow. This entails daily management of sales and quotas, press and media coverage and the organization of all Platinum events throughout the calendar year. His main objective is to develop and implement new strategies and business for the FCCA and to manage the marketing, sales and operations aspects of all events. James works closely with FCCA Associate and Platinum Members to help support and meet their cruise industry goals. Prior to accepting his position at the FCCA, Mr. Kazakoff founded and operated Private Group NYC. What began as a marketing and promotional company involved in the production of high-end entertainment and fashion events at various venues throughout New York City later extended to the cruise shipping industry. Eventually Mr. Kazakoff began handling operations for a diverse portfolio of events at United Business Media, notably, the worlds largest cruise shipping event Cruise Shipping Miami-that eventually led him to his current position with the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association. James has 7+ years experience in the media/event industry. James currently resides in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami, FL.



FCCA Staff Profiles Jessica Lalama ~ Executive Assistant Born in California and raised in Ecuador, Mrs. Lalama worked in the hotel industry with Marriott Hotels before joining the FCCA in 2007. She is the executive assistant to the President, Michele M. Paige, and therefore responsible for the day-to-day liaison with all private and public sector partners for the FCCA. She also assists in the coordination and promotion of the FCCA Foundation Essay Competition and the FCCA Foundation Donation Program for the Caribbean and Latin America, along with organizing the vessel deployment for FCCA’s Member Lines. Jessica lives in Plantation, Florida with her husband Raphael and son Martin.

Justin Paige ~ Manager, Communications, Research & Marketing Justin Paige assists in day-to-day operations and FCCA publications, such as Cruising Magazine, Highlights Issue and the membership directory, along with overseeing the development of press releases and other distributed material. He also heads such projects as the online auction; constantly serves to foster communication between the FCCA and its members; and has undertaken the research department, in which he keeps contact with the Member Lines and port authorities to derive and provide up-to-date data about cruise ship calls, port fees and other imperative information. Before joining the FCCA, Justin produced freelance articles for various publications over a fiveyear span and earned his bachelor of arts in English from Florida State University. He resides in the Miami, FL area.

Carnival Corporation & plc Micky Arison ~ Chairman/CEO Micky Arison grew up in the cruise business and spent the better part of two decades learning it from the ground up before becoming chairman in 1990. Arison, 63, followed his education with a two-year stint in Carnival Cruise Lines sales department. He became reservations manager in 1974, and took over the post of vice president of passenger traffic in 1976, succeeding to the presidency of Carnival in 1979. In 1990, he was appointed chairman by the company's board of directors. Carnival went public in 1987, raising $400 million for future expansion. The company continued its growth through the traditional avenue of new ship construction and also began to diversify expanding the company's cruise operations by entering new market segments of the industry. By early 1989, Arison engineered the acquisition of the venerable Holland America Line, giving Carnival entrée to the premium segment of the cruise industry. The purchase also included Westours (now Holland America Princess Alaska Tours), a leading Alaska tour operator. Today, Carnival Corporation also owns ultra-luxury Cunard, operator of the legendary Queen Mary 2, along with Seabourn, and Genoa, Italy-based Costa Cruises, Europe’s leading cruise operator. In April 2003, Arison spearheaded the dual listed company transaction combining Carnival Corporation’s various cruise operators with the wide-ranging brands of P&O Princess Cruises, creating a truly global cruise operator with the leading cruise brands in both North America and Europe. He has also been awarded the insignia of “Onorificenza al Merito della Repubblica Italiana” by the president of Italy, which confers that country's highest title on a civilian. Arison is also the managing general partner of the National Basketball Association’s Miami Heat franchise and has served as chairman of the league’s board of governors. Carnival Corporation & plc Richard Ames ~ Senior Vice President, Corporate Shared Services Richard Ames joined Carnival Corporation in 1989 as director of internal audit and was promoted to vice president – audit services three years later. In 2002, he was named senior vice president – audit services. In November 2006, he was promoted to his current position, senior vice president of corporate shared services, where he oversees corporate casino operations, global source, strategic projects and corporate marketing for Carnival’s worldwide cruise brands. Prior to joining Carnival, Ames spent six years as director of internal audit for Miami-based Resorts International, Inc., and served as a management consultant for International Intelligence, Inc., a subsidiary of Resorts International, for four years. Ames earned a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Massachusetts in 1975 and a master’s in business administration from George Mason University in 1983. He is a certified public accountant.

David A. Candib ~ Vice President Development & Operations David Candib is Vice President, Development & Operations for the Global Port and Destination Development Group at Carnival Corporation & Plc covering the Americas, Caribbean and Mexico regions and joined the company in 2002. David is responsible for oversight of all Miami-based corporate port operations, areas of new port development and the corporation’s’ port reservations system. This includes the ports of Puerta Maya (Cozumel), the Grand Turk Cruise Center (Turks & Caicos Islands) and Mahogany Bay (Roatan, Honduras) which together welcome over 2.5m passengers annually. In addition, David is directly responsible for the operations and development of the Grand Turk Cruise Center in the Turks and Caicos Islands. David manages the company’s relationship and active agreements with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, Port of Galveston, Puerto Rico Ports Authority, and St. Maarten Government and Harbour Holding Company which together comprise a significant share of the company’s global port commitments worldwide. David is also leading the company’s newly announced Amber Cove port development in the Dominican Republic just west of Puerto Plata. Additionally, David is engaged with various governments in the region working alongside Carnival’s various cruise brands in the review and evaluation of both port and infrastructure developments and marquis shore excursion opportunities. David has led the company’s efforts in the development of the Mystic Mountain Bobsled Jamaica attraction in Ocho Rios which is considered to be one of the top attractions in the region along with a newly announced attraction development in St. Maarten. David also provides insight and assistance with corporate and cruise brand concession agreements. David’s responsibility also includes issuing the company’s berthing policies and managing the reservation system for ports where the company has retained preferential berthing rights or directly operates covers 10 ports, 2,300 calls and over 5.5m passengers annually. David earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and International Finance from the University of Miami, in Miami, FL and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and minor in Economics from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in Atlanta, GA. David is also fluent in Spanish. David’s prior work experience concentrated in investment banking and financial consulting that of which were conducted at Smith Barney in Atlanta, Georgia and the May Davis Group in New York City. Carnival Corporation & plc Thomas M. (Tom) Dow ~ Vice President, Public Affairs Tom Dow is Carnival Corporation’s Vice President of Public Affairs. He serves as liaison to federal and state governments and local communities throughout North America. He represents Carnival Corporation in Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), Northwest & Canada Cruise Association (NWCCA), Alaska Cruise Association (ACA), and Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA). He works with Carnival’s 10 operating companies to coordinate policies and positions on industry issues. A 35-year travel industry veteran, Dow joined Carnival in 2003, after serving in a similar position with Princess Cruises & Tours in Seattle for 10 years. Prior to joining Princess, Dow lived in Alaska for 20 years. He is based in Washington, DC.

Howard Frank ~ Vice Chairman & Chief Operating Officer Howard Frank, vice chairman and chief operating officer for Miami-based Carnival Corporation & plc, is responsible for directing corporate-wide business development strategies for the largest cruise vacation group in the world. He works closely on strategic planning with the management of each of the company’s various cruise brands, which are headquartered throughout the world, and together operate 100 ships totaling approximately 203,000 lower berths. In tandem with Micky Arison, the company’s chairman and CEO, Frank provides oversight for all of the company’s brands in North America, Europe and Australia, which include Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Seabourn, AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, P&O Cruises, P&O Cruises Australia, and Ibero Cruises. Frank joined Carnival Corporation as senior vice president-finance and chief operating officer in July 1989 and has served as the company’s vice chairman and chief operating officer since January 1998. Carnival Corporation & plc Giora Israel ~ Senior Vice President, Global Port and Destination Development Group Giora Israel, Senior Vice President Port & Destination Development Group, Carnival Corporation, is a veteran of the hotel, marine parks, and cruise industries. A graduate of Tadmor Hotel College in Israel, he served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Tel Aviv Hilton and as General Manager of hotel resorts in Israel & The Bahamas. He also developed & managed two marine parks and tourist attractions in The Bahamas and in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, before becoming a cruise industry consultant in 1990. In 1992, he joined Carnival Corporation as Director of Special Projects where he engaged in a variety of international activities for the line in Europe and other parts of the world. This included an assignment in Greece as Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing of Epirotiki. From 1998 until 2008 Mr. Israel served as Vice President Strategic Planning at Carnival Corporation and PLC. In that capacity Mr. Israel was involved with Carnival’s international expansion. Other responsibilities included strategic developments relating to ports development, cruise operation and other areas of Carnival, the world largest cruise company. In late 2008 Mr. Israel was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President Port and Destination Development, further emphasizing the strategic importance of cruise destination & cruise development, a key element in Carnival’s continuing growth and expansion for the years to come. In addition Mr. Israel remains involved in key strategic initiative for the corporation in various developmental and operational areas. In late 2011 Mr. Israel assumed an expanded role with an addition in the scope of the department to include Global Port and Destination Development responsibilities, with an office and dedicated team based in the UK covering mainly the Mediterranean and Europe region. Mr. Israel has served as a speaker in many international forums on tourism and the cruise industry in over a dozen countries. He has also been a frequent guest speaker at various universities, including the University of the West Indies, Barry University, University of Yucatan, and Florida International University (both at the Hotel Management school and the FIU MBA program), Medcruise Academy and has served as a visiting fellow at both the Oxford and Cambridge Seatrade Cruise Academy. Mr. Israel serves on the MBA school advisory boards of both Barry University, and has served on numerous civic and industry boards in the U.S., Caribbean and Central America. Mr. Israel, together with Dr. Lawrence Miller, a former professor at FIU, co-authored the first dictionary of the cruise industry, which was published in London in 1999.



Carnival Corporation & plc Jose M. Negron ~ Director, Port Operations Jose Negron joined Carnival Corporation & PLC in 2009 as Director of Port Operations, overseeing Puerta Maya in Cozumel Mexico, Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras and soon to come Amber Cover in the Dominican Republic. Jose comes with over twenty-five years of hotels/resort experience opening world-class properties throughout Hawaii, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Colorado, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Panama. His past history while working in resorts include Hyatt, Williams Hospitality, Wyndham, and Luxury Resorts. While in Puerto Rico, he was also responsible for managing the only five-diamond resort in the Caribbean. Now in the cruise industry, he brings his hospitality ingenuity and operations background to Carnival Corporation & PLC. Originally from New York, now residing in Miami, Jose enjoys his free time with his wife and four children.

Gregg R. Zalkin ~ Manager Strategic Projects Mr. Gregg Zalkin works on the Strategic Projects team at Carnival Corporation & plc where he currently oversees the Tour Operator Gateway and Ship & Port Schedule solutions. Mr. Zalkin has significant cruise industry expertise in crew member medical care, incident reporting and claims management, port costing and shore excursions. Prior to joining Carnival in 2005, Mr. Zalkin worked as a management consultant for Cap Gemini & Ernst & Young and a business analyst for Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He has a BBA in Finance from George Washington University and an MBA in Economics and International Business from University of Miami. He serves on the board of the South Florida Touchdown Club Foundation, inc. and is an active project leader within Carnival’s employee driven volunteer organization – the F.U.N. Team.



Carnival UK Alister Butcher ~ Shore Operations Risk Manager Alister is the Shore Operations Risk Manager for Carnival UK (P&O Cruises & Cunard), the role is to ensure that excursion providers manage the safety of passengers and helping providers meet the specific legal requirements of the UK market. Alister has worked in the leisure industry for the last 10 years and has a background in Operations Management & Safety Management Systems, he will be providing insight to excursion providers on the more challenging aspects of Risk Management.

Julia Stoica ~ Shore Excursions Executive Julia is the Shore Excursion Executive for Carnival UK (P&O Cruises and Cunard brands) and is responsible for the Caribbean, Mexico, Malaysia, Sicily, Canary Islands and Portugal. The role involves all aspects of shore excursion planning and operations for all ports of call within these regions. Julia has worked on board as Tours Manager on the entire fleet for P&O and cruised throughout the Caribbean and Eastern and Western Mediterranean. Julia's previous roles include Shore Excursion Manager for Thomson Cruises and destination service coordinator for Orient Cruise Lines. Julia has also experienced a tour operators agency role as Shore Excursion Assistant Manager within Denholm Barwil shipping Services.

Carnival Cruise Lines Gustavo Antorcha ~ Senior Vice President, Guest Commerce & Port Operations Gus joined Carnival Cruise Lines in 2010 as the SVP of Guest Commerce and Port Operations. Gus is responsible for a number of the onboard commerce operations including: Tour Operations & Sales, Beverage operation, Photo operation, Retail Services, and Guest Technology. In addition Gus is also responsible for port operations. Prior to joining Carnival, Gus was Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group where he worked extensively in the travel and tourism. During his 14 years at BCG, Gus’ work extended across, hotels, airlines and cruise lines. Gus has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Markets and Management Certificate from Duke University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Economics and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Andrea Ascarate ~ Manager, Shore Ex Group Business & Product Awareness Andrea, joined Carnival in 1997 as a Corporate Travel Agent. She provided corporate executives with business travel services for air/rail transportation, hotels and auto rentals as well as counsel clients on travel itineraries. In 2000, Andrea was promoted to Supervisor of Corporate/Crew Travel, where she supervised 16 travel agents as well as assisted in developing effective and efficient operational policies. In January 2004, Andrea joined the Tour Operations Department as Manager, Shore Ex Group Business & Product Awareness. In her current position, Andrea is responsible for creating, implementing and managing the Groups Shore Excursion Program to cater to various large groups, incentive groups, and charters in all our ports of call. In conjunction to the Groups Program, Andrea arranges informative product awareness sessions for the Carnival Cruise Lines employees. These sessions are beneficial in educating the staff.

Robert Blythman ~ Director, Tour Operations Robert, with ten years of London hotel experience, joined Carnival in 1993 as a Junior Purser. During his time with Carnival Robert has enjoyed the many itineraries offered in the Caribbean as well as Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. In 2000, as Chief Purser, Robert was involved with the newly formed onboard Shore Excursion department and joined the Tour Operations shore-side team in 2002. As Director of Tour Operations, Robert is involved with many aspects of the operation that enables the Shore Excursion teams to run a successful onboard operation.



Carnival Cruise Lines Gerry Cahill ~ President and CEO Gerald R. Cahill joined Carnival Cruise Lines’ parent company, Carnival Corporation, in 1994 as vice president - finance and in January 1998 was promoted to senior vice president - finance and chief financial officer. In December 2003, Cahill was named executive vice president and chief financial officer for Carnival Corporation & plc. In July 2007, he was appointed to his current position, president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines. At the helm of the world’s most popular cruise line, Cahill oversees 43,000 employees and 24 cruise ships that carry 4.4 million passengers annually. Before joining Carnival, Cahill spent six years with Safecard Services, Inc., a NYSE-listed company, where he served first as chief financial officer and then as chief operating officer. From 1979 to 1988, Cahill held financial posts at Resorts International, Inc., and, prior to that spent six years with Price Waterhouse. Cahill, a resident of Southwest Ranches, Fla., graduated from the University of Miami, earning his B.B.A. degree in 1973.

Amilcar Cascais ~ Vice President, Tour Operations A 25 year veteran of the Cruise Industry, Amilcar graduated from the Engineering School of West Virginia University. He then joined Carnival Cruise Lines in 1984 as a Purser aboard the TSS Carnivale, one of the four ships in the Carnival Funship fleet, for what was to be a very short summer stay; he would remain at sea for the next nine years, most of these in the capacity of Chief Purser /Hotel Manager. An additional three years would follow aboard Renaissance Cruises “Yacht Style Cruising" vessels, again as Hotel Manager cruising in Asia, Africa and the Mediterranean. In 1997 Amilcar again joined Carnival Cruise Lines, this time at the corporate office in the Operations Department. Early in 1999 he developed from inception “Tour Operations” the department responsible for Shore Excursions shore side as well as the on board Shore Excursion Teams. Currently as Vice President of Tour Operations, Amilcar is responsible for all shore excursion programs Carnival Cruise Lines offers world- wide, as well as being involved with various other committees at Carnival both at a brand and corporate level. Amilcar is also the Chairman of the Shore Excursion Committee for the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association, comprised of thirteen Cruise Lines. In this role, along with each counterpart from Carnival's sister brands, as well as other major Cruise Lines, the committee continuously works on various efforts throughout the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico and other North American Ports engaging both the private and public sectors for the improvement and execution of Shore Excursion products and experiences.

A native of Italy, Capt. Gaetano Gigliotti began his career in 1986 as a deck cadet Officer with Carnival on the Mardi Gras. Served on various position on Board of almost all Carnival Vessels. Promoted Captain in Year 2000 on the Paradise. Served as Master on Paradise, Pride, Victory, Miracle, Fantasy, Valor, Elation, Glory. In February 2007 moved shore side as Port Captain and in 2008 promoted to position as Director of Marine Safety. In 2011 promoted to the position of Vice President Nautical Safety & Operations.



Carnival Cruise Lines Raynel Gonzalez ~ Manager, CareTeam Services Ray Gonzalez, an 8-year veteran of Carnival Cruise Lines, manages Carnival’s award-winning CareTeam, comprised of 450 company volunteers who are activated to assist guests and shipboard team members who may be experiencing some type of crisis vacationing or employed with Carnival. This team, who has received formal training ranging from the handling of displaced guests caused by itinerary deviations, to the grief and trauma resulting from a more devastating event, was formed in 1999 and travels to different homeports and ports of call to help guests in various emergency situations. In 2011 Carnival’s CareTeam assisted approximately 300 guests, crew and family and friends. In addition to the responsibility of recruiting and maintaining this team, Ray oversees and facilitates all CareTeam related training programs for shipboard and shore side employees, port agents, tour operators and ground handlers. Ray is also involved in the day to day operational decisions concerning the level of care that is extended to individuals in their time of need with the support of three Family Support Specialists under his direct supervision. Additionally, Ray continues to work closely with his counterparts in other cruise lines in an effort to establish a wide network of support. Ray is licensed by the Family Assistance Foundation to facilitate Human Services Response training for Shoreside and shipboard employees. He is also certified by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in Advanced Skills in Disaster Family Assistance.

Andrew Landsberger ~ Product Development Manager Andrew joined Carnival in 1998 as a Junior Purser and subsequently moved over to Shore Excursions in 2000 to be a part of the newly formed Tour Operations department. There he worked as a Shore Excursion Manager onboard being involved with the transition of the department into where it stands now. Andrew has been involved with the hospitality industry from the beginning of his career that started in 1991, where he worked in Hotels in Sri Lanka and Dubai. Since moving to the corporate office in 2002, he was involved with the building of Carnival's successful shore excursion online presales system. Currently he is involved with the product development of all Caribbean and Central America ports of call.

Carlos Torres de Navarra ~ Vice President, Commercial Port Operations In his position Mr. Torres de Navarra has oversight of the Commercial Port Operations group with the following key responsibilities (scope that includes both home ports and ports of call): • Gathering and integration of requirements for port strategies, agreements and operations, across all relevant functions within Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) and Corporate/sister lines, along with regular communications back to CCL and corporate stakeholders (key inputs from Itinerary Development, Nautical Operations, Embarkation, Corporate Global Port & Destination Development and executive management) • Long term planning of ports strategy across regions • Nurturing and managing day-to-day and long term relationships with port officials, port regulators, vendors and partners across regions • Coordination, negotiation and execution of new or revised port agreements as well as related agreements with agents, vendors and partners 34

From Miami, he was also in charge of the Long Beach Cruise Terminal operations in California which has now been transferred to CCL under his leadership. Prior to joining Carnival Corporation, he spent seven years with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. as Assistant Treasurer involved in business development, liquidity and capital planning, financial risk management, acquisitions, as well as port development. Previously he spent seven years at W.R. Grace, a worldwide specialty chemical company, as Manager of International Finance, responsible for subsidiary capital planning and structuring for numerous subsidiaries in over 50 countries and two years at Bank of America in its corporate credit department. Outside of Carnival Corporation, he serves on the Board of Directors and is chair of the Finance Committee of CHARLEE Homes for Children, the largest foster care provider in Dade County serving over 1,000 children and youth each year. Mr. Torres de Navarra is originally from the South Florida area and earned his undergraduate and MBA from the University of Miami. He is married and has three sons. Outside activities include participation in Ironman Triathlons and other endurance events.

Vickey Rey, CTC ~ Vice President, Guest Services Vicky Rey, a 31 year veteran of Carnival Cruise Lines, is responsible for overseeing the wide-ranging guest services and administrative functions of the line’s contact centers, with a strong focus on achieving customer satisfaction and revenue maximization. Within her portfolio of responsibilities, Vicky also oversees the training and quality assurance teams. One of her primary responsibilities is to establish a high performance culture that is employee and customer focused and aligned with Carnival’s brand promise. Vicky also heads up Carnival’s award winning CareTeam, comprised of 1,200 shore side and shipboard company volunteers who provide compassionate care and logistical support to guests and employees who find themselves facing a crisis situation while vacationing or working for the line. This team, which has received formal training ranging from large guest displacement incidents to the grief and trauma resulting from a more devastating event, was formed in 1999 and is deployed to different homeports and ports of call to assist guests in various situations, primarily medical and bereavement emergencies. Carnival Cruise Lines Ruben Andres Rodriguez ~ Executive Vice President, Ship Operations Ruben Andres Rodriguez is the Executive Vice President of Ship Operations for Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest and most popular cruise line. In his role, he oversees hotel, technical and marine operations across the Carnival fleet, as well as onboard revenues, supply chain, product development, shipboard human resources and ship building. He joined Carnival as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Guest Experience in October 2007. In that role, he had overall responsibility for marketing, public relations, revenue management and product and itinerary development. Prior to joining Carnival, he was a Partner and Managing Director in the Miami office of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a global strategy and management consulting firm. Rodriguez, 49, first worked for BCG for six years in its Los Angeles office in the 1990’s where he advised consumer-branded companies on growth and marketing strategies. One of his areas of expertise was in the toy industry and he left BCG in 1999 to serve as Vice President and General Manager of eToys International where he launched the company's international business unit, based in London. In 2001, he joined Charles Schwab Corporation initially as senior vice president of corporate strategy, based in San Francisco. He then assumed responsibility for Schwab's southeast retail division in 2003 and relocated to Miami. He rejoined BCG in Miami in early 2005 as a partner and worked there before assuming his first position at Carnival in late 2007. Rodriguez completed his undergraduate work at Princeton University where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and received a Phi Beta Kappa distinction. He received his Master's in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley as a National Science Foundation Fellow and subsequently earned his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He resides in Coconut Grove, Florida with his wife, daughter and son. Rodriguez serves as an active mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of Greater Miami and is also a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Miami Art Museum.

Leon Sutcliffe ~ Director, Commercial Ports of Call & Government Relations Leon Sutcliffe joined Carnival Cruise Lines in 1994 from British Environmental Services company Rentokil Initial, where he was employed as a Surveyor. He served aboard the T.S.S Fiesta Marina as a Sanitation Officer, going on to serve on all CCL vessels until he came shore side in 2000 as Port Operations Supervisor, responsible for liaison with all local & foreign government agencies & Port Authorities in facilitating the port entry & clearance process of the Vessels. In 2003 Leon was promoted to Manager, Cruise Operations then later in 2004 to Director. In 2006 he was appointed to Director, Port Operations and in March of 2012 to Director, Commercial Ports of Call and Government Relations.

Erika Tache ~ Product Manager, Tour Operations Erika, with experience as Tour Consultant in Romania and Hungary, joined Carnival Cruise Lines in 2001. In 2003, Erika was promoted to Shore Excursion Manager, and she worked in this capacity on board different vessels throughout the Carnival fleet. In 2005, Erika joined the recently established Shore Excursion Pre-Sales Team and today as Product Manager for Mexico, New England, Canada. She is involved in the development, operation and evaluation of the Shore Excursion program.



Carnival Cruise Lines Terry L. Thornton ~ Senior Vice President, Itinerary Development and Revenue Planning Terry Thornton’s background in the cruise industry spans more than 30 years beginning with financial and marketing positions at Norwegian Cruise Line from 1977 to 1982. He then moved on to spend five years at Sea Goddess, where as one of the founders, Thornton played an integral role in launching that new cruise line. Thornton then served as Vice President of Finance for Windstar Cruises for two years prior to joining Carnival Cruise Lines in 1989. Thornton joined the Carnival marketing team as Manager of Special Projects and is currently Senior Vice President, Itinerary Development and Revenue Planning. Paul Weber ~ Vice President, Supply Chain Paul Weber is Carnival Cruise Line’s Vice President of Supply Chain, overseeing the sourcing and logistics of all the supplies going to Carnival’s 24-ship fleet. Prior to his current role, Paul’s position was a Carnival Corporation Vice President working with the Global Sourcing efforts, where he began in 2002. Prior to joining Carnival, Paul held various operations and commercial positions with the Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group, the world’s largest operator of deep-sea chemical tankers. Disney Cruise Line Russell Daya ~ Director, Marine, Port, Security Operations and Maritime Affairs Russell provides operational direction and support to the Disney Cruise Line ships on safety, security, environmental, and navigational issues. His responsibilities also include worldwide port operations, port developments, itinerary planning, government and port relations . Frank de Heer ~

Vice President, Project Delivery, Walt Disney Imagineering, Disney Cruise Line Portfolio A 35-year veteran of the cruise industry, de Heer was named to this post in 2012, after delivery of the Disney Fantasy, De Heer is responsible for project design and delivery for the companies’ ships, home port and Private Island.

De Heer joined Disney Cruise Line in 1996 as part of the start up team and served as the company Vice President of Marine and Technical Operations, and Vice President New build, prior to accepting his present assignment. Prior to joining Disney Cruse Line, de Heer served in various shipboard and shore side posts at Holland America Line, where he was the marine and technical superintendent responsible for Windstar Cruises and several of Holland America Line’s large cruise ships. His career began with the Holland America Line as a shipboard engineer on the SS Rotterdam and SS Staten dam. He was selected to be part of the new builds supervision team in France and retired his shipboard career to be part of the management team in the marine and technical department of the Holland America Line and Windstar Cruises. De Heer is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. Born in 1958, he earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical and marine engineering at the Academy for Marine Engineers. He currently resides in Orlando, Fla.



Disney Cruise Line Karl L. Holz ~ President, Disney Cruise Line and New Vacation Operations, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts

As president of Disney Cruise Line and New Vacation Operations, Karl L. Holz leads several key growth businesses for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. In this role, he oversees Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney and the company’s offsite regional resorts business, working to align these businesses to take the Disney brand to new destinations. At Disney Cruise Line, Holz leads a cast and crew of more than 7,500 and is responsible for the entire operation, which includes the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and newly launched Disney Fantasy cruise ships. He also oversees Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, and Disney’s Port Canaveral cruise terminal. Karl joined Disney in 1996 as vice president of Downtown Disney at the Walt Disney World Resort. He later served as vice president of Epcot, then senior vice president of Walt Disney World Operations and in 2003 was named president of Disney Cruise Line. In 2004, he moved to Paris as president and chief executive officer of Euro Disney S.A.S. In February 2009, Karl was appointed to his current position of president, Disney Cruise Line and New Vacation Operations. Before joining Disney, Karl served as vice president of theme park operations for Knott’s Berry Farm in Southern California, and previously served as president of Sky Chefs Airport Concession Inc. Karl earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1973 from State University of New York at Fredonia. He lives in Orlando with his wife, Wendy. They have two grown children, Erik and Kirsten.

Jeff James, CTC ~ Vice President, Disney Institute Jeff James is Vice President of Disney Institute. Jeff leads and directs the Disney Institute team of talented individuals that train and educate by teaching the best practices of the Disney Company on a global basis. Prior to his current role from 2004 to 2008, Jeff was the Vice President and Managing Director, Marketing and Sales for Disney Destinations International based in London. He managed and led the marketing, sales, public relations, and finance efforts in the UK for Disney Destinations International including Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort Paris and Disney Cruise Line. Before his international assignment, Jeff was the Vice President of Domestic Sales for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. During this time he was responsible for national accounts, field sales and inside sales for Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line and the Disneyland Resort. Jeff also managed the tour operators / Internet aggregator team for Walt Disney World. Prior to Disney, Jeff was an executive at Holland America Line-Westours and Windstar Cruises. In this capacity, he managed and directed all national accounts, including tour operators and wholesalers. Prior to Holland America, Jeff began his career at American Hawaii Cruises. During his tenure with this company, Jeff held a variety of positions from assistant cruise director, ground operations manager, district sales manager and director of sales. Jeff’s education consists of a B.S. in Business/Commercial Recreation from the University of Colorado, and several professional licenses in the Sales, Insurance and Real Estate fields. Disney Cruise Line Don Moody ~ Manager, Sourcing and Procurement Services Don Moody is the Buyer Specialist for Hotel Operations, Entertainment, Marine and Technical for Disney Cruise Line. He manages the team responsible for supplying and tracking all items for the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. Don contacts vendors, negotiates contracts, leverages buying power and implements efficiencies to keep the ship and island operations running smoothly for Guests and Crew. He also oversees the purchasing and logistics for the Disney Cruise Line dry dock maintenance and special projects throughout the years. A graduate of Barrington College in East Providence, Rhode Island, Don’s career with the Walt Disney Company spans more than 13 years. He has previously worked at the Walt Disney World Resort as a buyer for the opening team at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Don’s career has also included purchasing positions within companies such as Caterpillar, Brungart Equipment Company, Florida Clarklift, Inc. and Rozier Machinery Company. Larry Stauffer ~ Manager, Port Adventures Larry Stauffer is the Manager of Port Adventures for Disney Cruise Line. In this role, Stauffer is responsible for the development, operation and continuing evaluation of Port Adventures for Disney Cruise Line itineraries world wide. A 24 year Disney veteran, Stauffer has held various operational management roles at the Walt Disney World Resorts & Parks prior to joining Disney Cruise Line in 1997. Stauffer is a member of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association’s (FCCA) Security and Operations Committee. He is also a member of the International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL).

Bert Swets ~ Vice President, Marine & Technical Operations Bert Swets is the vice president of marine and technical operations for Disney Cruise Line. He is responsible for the overall safety, security and environmental operations, navigation, itinerary planning, marine, engineering, dry dock, and maintenance aspects of the ships and private island Castaway Cay. Before Swets was named as vice president, he served as the director of purchasing and logistics for Disney Cruise Line. As director, he was responsible for the procurement and transport of all supplies from vendors to the ships and Castaway Cay. Swets also oversaw stevedore services and terminal and pier maintenance. Prior to his stint in purchasing, Swets served as the manager of technical operations at Disney Cruise Line. Here he was responsible for all technical operations, including refurbishment, interior maintenance and planning project work during the dry docks for both Disney ships. Swets joined Disney Cruise Line as part of the new-build team for the Disney Magic construction in 1996. From 1987 to 1996, Swets served as a senior maritime officer for Holland America Line. He received a Walt Disney World Partner in Excellence Award in 2001 and was also the recipient of the 1995 Employee of the Year Award for Holland America Line. Disney Cruise Line Jim Urry ~ Vice President, Entertainment and Port Adventures As vice president of entertainment and port adventures for Disney Cruise Line, Jim Urry is responsible for the total onboard entertainment experience and age-specific activities for adults, families and children, and also shore excursions. In addition, he oversees all new design and product development in this realm. Currently Urry serves on the Disney Cruise Line Executive Steering Committee. He also serves as Execution Champion of the Disney Cruise Line Wellness Team. With more than 33 years of cruise entertainment experience, Urry joined Disney Cruise Line in September 1999 to launch the Disney Wonder as cruise director. He has been involved in the conception, creation and implementation of all shipboard entertainment and programming components for Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy. Prior to joining Disney Cruise Line, Urry spent fifteen years as a cruise director for Royal Caribbean International (RCI), where he was responsible for the development and implementation of entertainment for the line. He was also part of the start-up team for five RCI ships. In addition, Urry has been a member of the British Equity Actors Association since 1975.

Tom Wolber ~ Sr. Vice President & COO Tom Wolber is currently the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President for Disney Cruise Line. He is responsible for shipboard operations, including purchasing, logistics, onboard entertainment and youth activities, operations integration, marine and technical operations, and overseeing the construction of the company’s new ships – the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. Tom first joined The Walt Disney Company in November 1989. His Disney career has given him the opportunity to lead several worldwide projects. In Europe, he was responsible for opening Ranch Davy Crockett at the Disneyland Paris Resort and for establishing the presence of the Disney Vacation Club in Europe. In the United States, Tom has also worked with the Disney Vacation Club, leading resort operations and the development of early Disney Vacation Club properties. He was instrumental in coordinating the 1999 launch of the Disney Wonder cruise ship for Disney Cruise Line and partnered with the Walt Disney World College Program to expand the on-site housing options for students on the work study program. Most recently, Tom was the Vice President of the Disney-MGM Studios theme park. Extreme Stunt Show” and a revamped “Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights” holiday display. Holland America Line Mike Bush ~ Product Manager, Shore Excursions Mike Bush has more than 18 years of experience in the cruise industry and is currently responsible for planning and development of the Shore Excursion program for Holland America Line & Seabourn in the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Norway, UK, Northern Isles, and Africa. Prior to assuming his current position with Holland America Line, Mr. Bush was Port Manager for Tropical Tours in Mazatlan, Mexico, providing shore excursions to all of the major cruise lines visiting the port. Before making his move to Mexico, Mr. Bush held positions of successively increasing responsibility in ship and passenger operations at Holland America Line - Sr. Manager of Port Operations based in the corporate office in Seattle (Janaury 2004-July 2006), Manager of Port Operations based in the corporate office in Seattle (February 1998 - December 2003), and Manager of Shore Operations in Tampa, FL (September 1994-Feburary 1998). Mr. Bush is a graduate of the University of Washington and resides in Seattle with his wife, Ariadne.

Captain Cees Deelstra ~ Vice President, Nautical Operations Capt. Deelstra joined Holland America Line over 38 years ago as a cadet officer and worked his way up to become a captain. He is a graduate of Rotterdam Nautical College. After sailing worldwide for 18 years, in 1990 he accepted a permanent position ashore at HAL headquarters in Seattle. As Vice President of Nautical Operations, he is responsible for overseeing programs to ensure the safe navigation of the ships, certification and maintenance of the ship's safety and life saving equipment, the efficient operation of the ships' deck department consisting of the navigation officers, boatswain, sailors and other deck maintenance personnel and is the Alternate Company Security Officer. Capt. Deelstra has extensive experience dealing with maritime safety and navigational matters. He serves as chairman of the Technical and Operational Committee of the North West & Canada Cruise Association representing the cruise industry in Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. He is a founding member and first Chairman of the Marine Safety Task Force in Alaska. This task force is made up of representatives from the marine pilots, maritime shipping companies, U.S. Coast Guard and others having interest in safe navigation of Alaskan waterways. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators. This association represents over 100 members and associate members operating ships in Antarctica. Furthermore he represents Holland America Line at the Alaska Steamship Association, at the BC Chamber of Shipping and he is an officer of the Alaska Steamship Response organization. Cees also is a member of several committees in CLIA and FCCA.

Simon Douwes MM, MNI. ~ Director, Deployment & Itinerary Planning Simon Douwes is the Director of Deployment and Itinerary Planning for Holland America Line, a subsidiary of the Carnival Corporation & plc. Appointed to this position in March 2002, he has the responsibility of researching, developing and implementing the deployments and itineraries for all vessels in the Holland America Line fleet. Douwes began his career at Holland America Line as a navigation officer in 1980, shortly after graduating from the Nautical Academy of Amsterdam. He steadily rose through the ranks and was promoted to Captain in 1993. He served as Captain on most of the Holland America Line ships between 1993 and 2002. Simon resides on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington State with his wife Sharon and two teenage children. When not at work, he enjoys fly-fishing, scuba diving and the theatre. Simon Douwes is a Master Mariner, a member of the Nautical Institute and a former trustee on the board of the world famous Seattle Childrenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Theatre.



Holland America Line Stein Kruse ~ President and Chief Executive Officer, Holland America Line Chairman, Seabourn Stein Kruse is president and chief executive officer of Holland America Line Inc. and chairman of Seabourn, both units of Carnival Corporation & plc. Holland America Line operates a fleet of 15 premium cruise ships offering more than 500 cruises annually on all seven continents. Seabourn’s fleet of six ultra-luxury ships offers 197 cruises annually throughout the world. Stein joined Holland America Line in Seattle in 1999 as senior vice president, fleet operations with overall responsibility for operations and newbuilding. In 2003, he was named president and chief operating officer, and on December 1, 2004, chief executive officer. In January, 2011, he was named chairman of Seabourn and the corporate headquarters transitioned from Miami to Seattle. Under Stein’s leadership, nine new Holland America Line ships and one new Seabourn ship have been introduced. He implemented the Signature of Excellence quality and service enhancement initiative and created a Health, Environmental, Safety and Security program. As well, Stein has broadened Holland America Line’s philanthropic efforts, with programs that have raised more than $3 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and encouraged employees to serve on nonprofit boards. Before he joined Holland America Line, Stein was senior vice president and chief financial officer of the North American operations for global Japanese shipping company "K" Line, where he also oversaw financial activities in seven U.S. subsidiary companies and served on the company’s board of directors. Prior to that, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer for Radisson Seven Seas Cruises and president and chief executive officer for Seven Seas Cruise Line. Stein currently serves on the boards of the U.S. Coast Guard Foundation, World Trade Center Seattle and Saltchuk Resources Inc. A native of Oslo, Norway, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program. Stein, his wife and two children reside in Bellevue, Wash.

Ellen Lynch ~ Director, Shore Excursions Lynch has been involved in the cruise and tour industry for 28 years culminating in her most recent position at Holland America Line where she has been Director, Shore Excursions since 2004. In this role she oversees HAL’s worldwide shore excursion program. She began in the industry with a shipboard career at Royal Caribbean Cruises, Sitmar Cruises, and Royal Cruise Line before returning to Royal Caribbean International at their corporate headquarters in 1990 as the Manager, Shore Excursions and Destination Development. In 2000, Lynch became Director, Product Logistics for Royal Caribbean’s land tour company, Royal Celebrity Tours, a subsidiary company focusing almost exclusively on Alaska operations. Lynch resides in the Seattle area.



Holland America Line Chris Martin ~ Director, Port Operations Chris Martin joined Holland America Line in January 2004 as Manager, Port Operations, administering all port-related matters worldwide for the fleet. Over the years, his responsibilities have included planning and coordination of ports and itineraries, overseeing environmental management aspects for the fleet, and acting as a direct liaison between Holland America Line and various regulatory agencies. Chris was promoted to Director, Port Operations in October 2009. Prior to joining Holland America Line, Chris spent 9 years with Princess Cruises and Tours managing land-based divisions in Alaska and developing new port agency, shore operations, and port services for emerging destinations. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from the University of Puget Sound and a Master of Science in Management Communication from the University of Portland. He currently resides in Seattle, Washington with his wife and three kids.

Matthew T. Sams ~ Vice President, Caribbean Relations Sams joined Carnival Cruise lines in 1985. In June 1997, Sams was promoted to Vice President of Caribbean Relations for Holland America Line and is responsible for the interests with the various governmental and regulatory agencies with which the company is involved in the Caribbean, Latin America and Florida. He also is responsible for the overall operation of the company’s private island destination, Half Moon Cay, in the Bahamas. Based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Sams is Holland America Line’s representative to the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association, and is the current Vice Chairman of the Operations Committee. He and his wife Michelle, whom he met on a cruise to Alaska in 1979, reside on Ft. Lauderdale Beach.

Bill Sharp ~ Vice President - Port and Shore Operations Appointed in November 2003, Bill Sharp is vice president, port and shore operations for Holland America Line Inc., a unit of Carnival Corporation & plc. He over- sees worldwide port and ground operations for Holland America Line's fleet of five-star vessels. Sharp began his Holland America Line career as director of port operations in April 1996, bringing a 18-year background in port operations throughout Alaska, primarily responsible for oversight of cruise and cargo port operations. Prior to joining Holland America Line, Sharp was vice president of operations at Southeast Stevedoring Corp and Cruise Line Agencies of Alaska.

Elena Vlad ~ Manager, Shore Excursions, South America, Northern Isles, Caribbean/Panama Canal Elena began her professional career as a classically trained ballerina but soon discovered her language skills (fluent in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and her native Romanian) were a perfect fit for the cruise industry and found herself working on board Festival Cruise Lines where shore excursions quickly became her home. More than 12 years later she brings a collection of on board and office experience to her current position managing Holland America Line's shore excursions programs for the Caribbean, Central America, South America and the Northern Isles. She is also responsible for the hiring and planning of shore excursion shipboard team members for the entire Holland America Line fleet. Elena currently resides in Washington with her husband Lance and enjoys wonderful views of Puget Sound where they often watch cruise ships journey from Seattle on to destinations full of potential shore excursions. Kenneth was born and raised in Antigua before attending both undergraduate and graduate school in Florida. Kenneth has worked for a number of major corporation over his career starting with the Royal bank of Canada in Antigua, Price Waterhouse Coopers, as a Certified Public Accountant in Miami and then with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. before his current roll at Norwegian Cruise Line. Kenneth holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting and an MBA in finance from the School of Business and Industry at Florida A & M University in Florida. Working as a tour director after graduation for a large Boston tour operator, Joanne traveled extensively throughout the world and eventually assumed the position of Director of Tour Services. After moving to Miami she owned and operated a destination management company, specializing in the group and incentive market. Norwegian Cruise Line Captain Svein Sleipnes ~ Senior Vice President, Marine Operations Captain Svein Sleipnes joined Norwegian Cruise Line in 1982. As Senior Vice President, Marine Operations, he oversees Nautical and Port Operations for the company, as well as Fleet Regulatory Compliance. Before assuming his current role in April 2011, Sleipnes was Vice President, Nautical and Port Operations. He has been involved in the cruise industry, both at sea and on land, for nearly three decades, beginning his career as a First Officer with Norwegian Cruise Line. Promoted quickly through the ranks, he became the youngest captain in the fleet just nine years later in 1991. After working as Port Captain and Director of Nautical Operations with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, he returned to Norwegian Cruise Line in 2000 as Vice President of Nautical Operations. Throughout his executive tenure with Norwegian, he has been designated as Company Security Officer, directly responsible for all security-related matters throughout the entire company, on land, sea and at all port and terminal facilities. Born and raised in Aalesund, Norway, Sleipnes now makes his home in Davie, Florida, with his wife, Katherine, and two sons, Hans and Christian.

Andrew Stuart ~ Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Passenger Services Andy Stuart is Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Passenger Services for Norwegian Cruise Line, responsible for global sales, revenue management and passenger services. In this role, Stuart directs the Company’s global distribution strategy, ensuring Norwegian continues to enhance and strengthen its relationships with travel partners as its primary distribution system. He introduced Partners First in 2011, the company’s corporate philosophy of always putting its travel partners first in three key areas: investment in long-term travel partner success; a complete focus on being easy to do business with; and a commitment to travel partners on direct business. Princess Cruises Deanna Austin ~ Senior Vice President, Yield Management, Planning and Customer Service As senior vice president of yield management, planning and customer service, Deanna Austin is responsible for yield management, market planning, and customer service operations for Princess Cruises. In this role for Princess, Austin is instrumental in creating the most fundamentally important elements of a cruise: where the line’s ships will go, how much passengers will pay to enjoy their vacation, and how the company interacts with customers. As head of Princess’ yield management function, Austin is charged with inventory control to ensure maximum passenger loads and revenues for all sailings. She also oversees market planning, including strategic pricing, sales policies, itinerary/deployment planning and competitive analysis. Within the realm of published cruise programs, Austin has launched a number of new itineraries and deployments for Princess, including the line’s first journey to Antarctica and first mega-ship to sail in Asia. She also works closely with the Cunard UK offices to develop deployments for the line’s renowned ships and oversees yield management and marketing activities for Cunard's North American efforts. Donna Silvera-Barnett ~ Port Operations Specialist, Caribbean & Atlantic Donna is responsible for berth reservations and coordinating port operations activities in the Caribbean & Atlantic Region, working closely with the Market Planning and Marine departments, port agents and local port authorities. After a stint with the Shell Company, her experience in the travel and hospitality industries include 10 years with British Airways and Corporate Resorts, owners of several hotels in her native Jamaica. Donna also assists with coordinating arrangements for homeporting operations in various ports in the region.

Dean C. Brown ~ Executive Vice President, Corporate Services Cruise industry veteran and Princess Cruises Executive Vice President Dean Brown oversees a number of key areas for the global cruise and tour company. His responsibilities span both the worldwide destinations that Princess ships visit plus a number of the shoreside functions that support its cruises and tours on six continents. Brown is responsible for Princess’ corporate services functions which include the finance, legal, information technology, human resources, purchasing & logistics, compliance and government affairs departments. Brown was appointed to his current position in 2007, and throughout his three-decade career with Princess has had responsibility for a wide array of operational areas. Brown has served on the executive committee of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), two terms as chairman of the North West Cruise Ship Association (NWCA), as president of the Alaska Visitors Association and on the Vancouver Tourism Board of Directors. A native of Washington, he attended the University of Washington where he received his B.A. degree in communications and history. He and his wife, Susan, have three children and reside in the Los Angeles area.

Alan B. Buckelew ~ Chief Executive Officer and President With a career spanning more than 30 years in the cruise industry, Alan Buckelew has served as chief executive officer of Princess Cruises since June 2007 and as the line’s president since February 2004. As head of one of the best-known brands in the industry, Buckelew oversees a worldwide cruise and tour company featuring a fleet of 16 modern ships that sail on a diverse array of itineraries to all seven continents. Princess Cruises is part of Carnival Corporation & plc, one of the largest leisure travel companies in the world. In addition to his role overseeing the Princess brand, Buckelew also served as chief operating officer for Cunard Line from 2004 to 2007, as part of a reorganization of that company’s operations, and currently oversees the operation of Carnival Australia. His wide-ranging job roles at Princess, and before that at Sitmar Cruises, have given Buckelew a breadth of experience across the company’s operations. Prior to his appointment as president, Buckelew served from 2000 to 2004 as executive vice president of corporate services for Princess, with responsibility for the company’s strategic planning, marketing and yield management functions. Before that, Buckelew held the positions of senior vice president of corporate services, senior vice president of customer service, senior vice president of corporate services and yield management, chief information officer, and chief financial officer. He joined the US Army in 1969 and 1970, and served in Vietnam from June 1969 until June 1970. He was a member of a small reconnaissance platoon known as Fox Force, which was deployed in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Air Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and two Bronze Stars. Born in Long Beach, California, Buckelew holds an MBA and bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Christine, and two daughters.

Malisa Dean ~ Port Operations Financial Analyst Malisa Dean joined the shore operations team at princess in 2007, following a 2 year stint in the Global Fine arts Department. She is responsible for all port accounting and budget prep & analysis, working closely with port agents and port authorities as well as various vendors in all ports in the Caribbean/Canada New England region. She works closely with management to maintain accurate budget, port compliance issues and port agent contract details.



Princess Cruises Lisa Jensen ~ Manager, Caribbean and Atlantic Shore Operations Lisa Jensen first came to Princess Cruises as an intern from the University of Florida in 1998. After graduation, she worked in the Caribbean & Atlantic Shore Operations department for the next two years before pursuing other career moves. She rejoined Princess in 2003 as a Logistics/Shore Excursion Coordinator and then became a Shore Excursion Specialist the following year. In 2008, Lisa was promoted to her current position as Manager of Shore Operations. She is responsible for overseeing the development, setup, daily operation, and continual assessment of the tour program in approximately 70 ports throughout the Caribbean, Panama Canal and Canada/New England regions.

Anthony H. Kaufman ~ Senior Vice President, Commercial Affairs As Princess Cruises’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Affairs, Tony has a broad commercial role that includes leading the Shore Operations and Onboard Revenue departments as well as managing various complex commercial transactions. He oversees shore excursion, port and passenger logistics operations in the more than 300 ports where Princess ships sail, as well the retail shops, photography, spa, casino operations and the provision of a number of other products and services on board the vessels. Tony joined Princess Cruises in 1993 and previously served as General Counsel of P&O Princess Cruises plc prior to the acquisition by Carnival Corporation. Tony received his B.A. degree in Communication Studies from UCLA his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. Born in London, England, Tony resides in the Los Angeles area with his wife Lisa and their two children, Trevor and Amanda.

Crystal Morgan ~ Director, Market Planning, Deployments & Itineraries As the Director of Market Planning for Princess Cruises, Crystal is responsible for the strategic deployment and itinerary planning for Princess Cruises’ fleet of 17 vessels. In this role, Crystal calls on over 15 years of cruise industry experience including 8 years as an onboard Shore Excursion Manager. Prior to joining the Market Planning department, Crystal worked within Princess’ Shore Operations group planning worldwide Shore Excursion and Logistics programs. Crystal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

Stephen A. Nielsen ~ Vice President, Caribbean & Atlantic Shore Operations, Steve Nielsen is a 43-year veteran of Princess Cruises, having joined the company in 1969 as a Marine Operations Assistant. His current responsibilities as Vice President of Caribbean and Atlantic Shore Operations include managing the companies shore excursions, port operations, passenger logistics and government relations in the 40 plus ports that Princess calls at in the Caribbean and Atlantic. Steve is a member of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association’s Executive Committee, serves on the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Board of Directors, Seafarer’s House Board of Directors and Port Everglades Association’s Board of Directors. He is also a member of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service’s User Fee Advisory Committee. Mr. Nielsen resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his wife Dorine and their son Arne. 78


Princess Cruises Jan Swartz ~ Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Customer Service Jan Swartz is executive vice president of the sales, marketing and customer service division for Princess Cruises, and holds a similar role for sister company Cunard Line in North America/Europe/Asia and South America. Jan oversees Princess’ market planning, yield management and marketing departments which design, price and market the line’s cruise itineraries, and also has responsibility for the company’s domestic sales force, and Princess’ international sales efforts in over 60 countries around thworld. Swartz additionally oversees the lines’ customer service activities for both travel agents and consumers. Jan began working with Princess in 1997 as an outside management consultant, and in 2001 she became the company’s vice president of strategy and business development. In 2004 she was named senior vice president of customer service and sales, and was appointed to her current position in 2009.

Adams ~ Commodity Manager In 1998 Vina joined the team at Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited, in the supply chain department as an assistant purchasing agent in Food and Beverage. Her promotion to Purchasing Agent, then Senior Purchasing Agent and finally Commodity Manager, is a direct result of her dedication, hard work and commitment to the company. As Commodity Manager in Food and Beverage Purchasing, Vina is responsible for sourcing products and negotiating contracts for vessels in North America. In addition to sourcing water, soda, beer and spirits for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., she continues to maintain close contact with the Caribbean with whom she has worked successfully, in order to develop and enhance local purchasing. Craig Milan ~ Senior Vice President, Land Operations, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. President, Royal Celebrity Tours, Inc. Craig Milan is the Senior Vice President of Land Operations for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. He oversees Guest Port Services (pier operations), Shore Excursions, Private Destinations, Commercial Development, Cape Liberty Cruise Port, port operations and government relations in the Caribbean, Latin America and Asia for the Azamara Club Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International brands. In addition, he holds the title of President for Royal Celebrity Tours Inc., which is the land tour affiliate of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Royal Celebrity Tours offers unique land tours in conjunction with Celebrity Cruises’ and Royal Caribbean International’s cruises in Alaska, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia. Marc Miller ~ Manager, Deployment Strategy Marc Miller is the Manager of Deployment and Itinerary Planning at Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. He joined the company in 2003 as an analyst in revenue management, but the last seven years he has spent as part of the itinerary planning team. He now leads a small team focused on planning all itineraries for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises. Marc was also part of the original launch team for Azamara Cruises developing the new products and itineraries, and continues to support them in his current role. Marc is originally from Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with Bachelors degree in Marketing. He later attended University of Miami where he completed a MBA with a concentration in International Business.



Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. Robert Moroney ~ Manager, Worldwide Port Operations Robert Moroney is accountable for the management of all port operations in the North American, Canadian, and Caribbean markets inclusive of RCCL’s Hawaiian, Alaskan and Mexican ports. Robert’s responsibilities include all operational and financial relationships as they relate to port authorities, port agencies, stevedoring companies, etc. that fall under his particular region. Robert is tasked with contract negotiations, request for proposals, cost benefit analysis, day to day operational effectiveness, and future deployment impacts. Robert has been employed by RCCL since joining the company in 2003. Prior to his career in the cruise industry, Robert spent the previous 10 years coordinating and managing the extensive new store opening process for the retail company Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Robert has a B.S. in business economics, as well as minors in personnel administration and finance.

Dustin Nason ~ Director, Worldwide Port Operations Dustin Nason is the Director of Worldwide Operations for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Club Cruises, overseeing over 350 ports, in 92 countries, for 40 ships. In his capacity, Dustin oversees the management of the company’s global port agency network, all port relationships, day to day vessel port operations, and strategic port initiatives.

Capt. Howard A. Newhoff ~ Manager, Terminal & Port Security Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises From 1989 to now, Captain Newhoff has served as Manager, Security for Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises lines. He is responsible for shore side security of cruise vessel facilities and terminals in seaports worldwide. Other responsibilities include oversight of all company customs and immigration matters. He liaisons with federal and local law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Customs and Border Protection, Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Immigration Enforcement, Drug Enforcement Administration, Coast Guard, Secret Service, state law enforcement agencies, local police and overseas governments, embassies and consulates concerning operational and security matters. He also insures that vessel and terminal operations comply with applicable security laws, regulations and policies as well as monitoring international maritime terrorism risks and threats. Captain Newhoff is a member of multiple U.S. and international port security committees including the Cruise line International Association (formerly known as the International Council of Cruise Lines) Security Committee. Captain Newhoff served in the United States Coast Guard from 1965 until his retirement in 1989. He commanded four Coast Guard cutters during his career. He has extensive maritime law enforcement, hostage and anti-terrorism matters. Others assignments included Plans Officer for coastal defense of Western United States, Liaison Officer to U.S. Navy Ship Training Command in San Diego, Readiness and Training Officer for the Seventh Coast Guard District in Miami and Assistant Program Manager for Coast Guard Marine Science Program. He also has maritime command combat experience in Vietnam. Captain Newhoff earned a MBA Degree in Operations Management from National University in San Diego, CA, a MS Degree in Physical Oceanography from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL and a BS Degree in Marine Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT.



Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. Martha Olano ~ Specialist, Government Relations - Caribbean, Latin America and Asia Martha Olano forms part of the Government Relations team at RCCL since October 2007. She first worked for Royal Caribbean from 1997-1998 as an International Ambassador onboard the ships, later rejoining shore side in 2005-2007 as International Specialist for Royal Hotel Operations. Martha was born in Colombia where she first followed studies in Business Administration, and graduated later in Hotel Management from the University of Houston. Before joining Royal Caribbean, Martha lived in Europe, Latin America, South East Asia and the USA, where she worked for several International organizations such as Inter-Continental, Hilton, Four Seasons Sofitel, UNICEF and the World Expo, and between 2001 and 2005, she created and managed "Couette & Croissant", her own Bed and Breakfast in Provence, Southern France. Besides her fluency in Spanish, English, French and Italian, she speaks Dutch and Portuguese.

Richard M. Pruitt ~ Director, Environmental Programs Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises & Azamara Club Cruises Since May 2003, Rich Pruitt has served as the Director, Environmental Programs at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. He currently is responsible for developing corporate vision and strategic initiatives and setting policy for all environmental regulatory compliance and continual improvement operations for the company. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is a global cruise vacation company that operates Azamara Cruises, CDF Croisières de France, TUI Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Pullmantur, and Royal Caribbean International. The company has a combined total of 38 ships in service and three under construction. Rich's marine safety career began in 1993, when he was assigned as a resident marine inspector at Colonna's, Norshipco and Newport News shipbuilding yards while assigned to the USCG’s Marine Safety Office Hampton Roads, in Norfolk, Virginia. In October 1995, he was selected to become the Chief, Port Safety and Security branch, and he held that job until 1997, when he was transferred to the position of South Florida Oil Pollution Planning Officer at MSO Miami. In 1999, Rich was selected to become chief of the USCG Passenger Vessel Control Verification Examination (CVE) School, where he directed the USCG's Center for Excellence for foreign passenger vessel examinations. As a senior marine inspector, Rich also served as the port state control program leader and casualty investigator, responding to serious marine accidents involving all types of casualties. Rich was selected to become the inaugural USCG Passenger Vessel Safety, Prevention and Mass Rescue Operations program manager at USCG headquarters, where he served until his retirement in 2003. Rich holds an Environmental Master of Business Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from National Louis University and an Associate’s degree in Russian Interpreting from the Community College of the United States Air Force. Rich is a life long Florida resident, and he and his wife Margy live in Plantation, Florida. They have three children and four grandchildren.

Ramos ~ Director, Shore Excursions Sales and Marketing Nancy is a strategic marketer with extensive experience in the development of global marketing strategies and leading cross functional teams in the implementation of integrated marketing communications. She began her career with Royal Caribbean 10 years ago and has held various positions throughout this time. Prior to joining our organization, Nancy served as Director, International Marketing where she oversaw marketing strategy and executions for our three brands in 14 international markets. She and her team were instrumental to International's strategic growth and helped open offices in Australia, Brazil, China, France and Mexico. Prior to this role, Nancy managed Marketing Communications for Latin America and the Caribbean and worked very closely with our International Representatives in the region in building awareness for our brands and introducing the non visa product from Panama. Prior to joining Royal Caribbean, Nancy worked for The Walt Disney Company in Orlando where she was responsible for US Hispanic and African American marketing and for AT&T in San Juan where she oversaw marketing initiatives in the Caribbean and Latin America. A native from Puerto Rico, Nancy graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Nova Southeastern University.

Miguel Reyna ~ Manager, Commercial Development Miguel Reyna joined Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCCL) in 2001. At RCCL, he has managed various projects in the areas of Accounting, Supply Chain and Commercial Development. Currently, as Manager of Commercial Development, he plans, coordinates, and implements various port development and mixed-use project investments. He also oversees the operational and financial performance of various RCCL investments. Miguel recently implemented the development of the Roatan Town Center, a $15 million waterfront commercial village at the Port of Roatan, Honduras. Prior to joining RCCL, Miguel worked as a Senior Consultant specializing in business process reengineering and as a Capital Programs Manager for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York. Miguel holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Lima, Peru. He holds a Masters Degree in Policy Analysis from the Harriman School at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.



Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. Michael Ronan ~ Vice President Government Relations, Caribbean, Latin America & Asia In January of 2007, Michael Ronan was promoted to Vice President of Government Relations for the Caribbean, Latin America & Asia regions. This advance gives Ronan the opportunity to have an even greater impact on governmental and community relationships for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises & Azamara Club Cruises. From 1989 to 2007, Ronan occupied various positions that oversaw the company’s destination programming, development , operations and government relations in all of its destinations. Ronan joined Royal Caribbean International in 1989 as Director of Port Planning, a newly created department within the company’s Hotel Operations department. His responsibilities included shore excursions, port agent selection, the berthing of ships worldwide and industry associations. Prior to joining Royal Caribbean, Ronan worked for Norwegian Cruise Line as Director of Cruise Programs. He also spent more than 12 years as an owner and manager of two tour and excursion companies that serviced major cruise lines visiting the Dominican Republic. He served in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic. Today, Ronan represents Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. in the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association as ViceChairman of the organization’s Operations Committee. He also is on the board of the Caribbean Tourism Organization, the US Mexico Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trustees of the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF).

Doug Santoni ~ Sr. Vice President, Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement Doug Santoni is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., a global cruise vacation company that operates Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Pullmantur, Azamara Club Cruises and CDF Croisieres de France. The company owns a combined total of 40 ships and has one under construction and two under agreement. Doug joined Royal Caribbean in 1997 and now leads the organizations responsible for the company's strategic planning efforts, deployment and itinerary planning, and continuous improvement. In his prior role at RCL, he had overseen the company's revenue management organization, as well as air/sea. When he joined RCL, Doug served as RCL’s Director of Business Solutions, an internal consulting role focused on operational and cost efficiencies in several areas of the company. Prior to Royal Caribbean, Doug held management positions with American Airlines in Dallas and in Los Angeles, and with Electronic Data Systems (EDS). At American Airlines, he held roles in corporate Operations Research, domestic and international pricing and yield management, and Sales. At EDS, he worked in a consulting capacity supporting customers in the Travel and Transportation. Doug holds an undergraduate degree in Operations Research and two Master's degrees from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.



Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. John F. Tercek ~ Vice President, Commercial and New Business Development Since 1999 John Tercek has created shoreside infrastructure projects and ventures to support Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.’s strategic growth objectives, including the development of port and commercial facilities John Tercek was a partner in a Wall Street real estate investment firm in the 1980s before becoming a principal in several property development firms in the 1990s. His professional career includes financing and developing over US$1.5 billion of retail, residential and commercial properties, cogeneration power projects and port infrastructure projects in America, Europe and the Caribbean. Tercek holds a degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. degree from Fordham University Law School. He is a licensed attorney in New York State.

Juan C. Trescastro ~ Vice President, Port Operations Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises & Azamara Club Cruises Juan C. Trescastro, a graduate of Columbia University is an 11-year cruise industry veteran and is the Vice President of Port Operations, Guest Port Services for Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. In his current position, he oversees all port operations in 400 ports worldwide for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises. Juan is also responsible for all guests services landside in more than 40 turn ports, this consists of Hotels Transfers and meet and greet services at the airports and piers.

John Weis ~ Vice President, Guest Port Experience John Weis is currently the Vice President of Guest Port Experience for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. In this role John oversees all aspects of the shore excursion operations worldwide for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises & Azamara Club Cruises. John joined Royal Caribbean in 1998 and has held various management positions in Accounting/Finance, Supply Chain/Logistics, Private Destinations and most recently in Guest Port Experience. During his tenure, he was in charge of the redevelopment project at Labadee (Royal Caribbean’s Private Destination) including the construction of a pier and development of one of the first public/private partnerships with the government of Haiti. He was also assigned to the Clinton Foundation assisting in the reconstruction efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. In addition, John has played an active role as chair of the United Way Fund raising campaign at Royal Caribbean for two years and serves on the Audit Committee for Food For the Poor. John is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University and is a CPA. He is married and has two children.



Royal Caribbean International Adam M. Goldstein ~ President & CEO Adam Goldstein was named President & CEO of Royal Caribbean International in 2007. Goldstein oversees all aspects of the 22-ship Royal Caribbean International brand, as well as International Sales & Marketing, Land Operations and Government Relations for the company. Goldstein has served in positions with similar responsibilities since 2002. Goldstein has been with the company since 1988. Prior to 2002 he held the positions of Senior Vice President, Total Guest Satisfaction; Senior Vice President, Marketing; Vice President, Marketing; Vice President, International Sales and Marketing; Director, Market Development; and Corporate Secretary to Royal Caribbean’s Board of Directors. Goldstein has served on the Board of Directors of the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA), now known as U.S. Travel Association, since 1993. He was National Chair of TIA in 2001. Goldstein formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Our Kids, Inc. from 2007 to 2009, a nonprofit with oversight responsibility for foster care and related services for approximately 4,000 children in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. He currently serves on the Our Kids Advisory Board. In 1998, Advertising Age named Goldstein to the “Marketing 100,” the magazine’s annual roundup of the best and brightest American and international marketing minds. Goldstein graduated with honors from Princeton University, majoring in public policy at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He also has a law degree from Harvard and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD, the European business school in Fontainebleau, France. Goldstein and his wife have two children and live in Coral Gables, FL.
