In a former work was discussed the birth and development of the Institute of the Sisters of St Joseph in the 17th century by a Jesuit priest with the devoted cooperation of father de maps, Bishop of Le Puy in Velay. This institute od sty Joseph was almost completely annihilated during the French Revolution. Mother Saint John Fontbonne was to be instrumental in the resurgence of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. This is her story.
