Raxil MD packs an even tougher punch When you treat your seed with Raxil ® MD, disease won’t know what hit them
by up to 20 percent. The systemic activity in Raxil protects barley right from the start, helping the crops get off to a healthy start. Raxil also limits the impact of fusarium in wheat which, along with head blight, causes seed rot, seedling blight and root rot, harming crop establishment and reducing yields by up to eight percent.
You want a seed treatment that comes out swinging against disease but you don’t want to fight with it when it comes to application. That’s what makes Raxil the undisputed champion of seed treatments. It delivers a powerhouse one-two punch against disease in wheat, barley and oats and thanks to its new formulation, it’s even easier to work with. Raxil combines two systemic fungicides – tebuconazole and metalaxyl – to fight off the most serious seed, seedling and soil-borne diseases. Easy to use, easy to apply The secret is micro-dispersion technology. The particle size – nano-sized vs. micro-sized – used in the suspension is much finer than most formulations which make the suspension much thinner and more stable allowing for more thorough seed coverage. The extremely low viscosity of Raxil MD lets you apply it in cooler temperatures without it becoming too thick. In fact, viscosity won’t increase dramatically until it actually freezes at -10°C. Raxil is easy to use, easy to apply and its low dust formulation makes it ideal for either commercial or on-farm treating. Tundra herbicide The latest innovation from Bayer CropScience
Tundra™ herbicide is a revolutionary all-in-one formulation that offers the convenience of both grassy and broadleaf weed control in one jug. “Tundra represents a technological leap forward in weed control,” says Lauren Davis, Manager of Cereal Crops – Herbicides. “It is the first all-in-one product for wheat and barley that provides comprehensive weed control, crop safety and a wide window of application without having to tank mix any additional herbicides.” Tundra combines three active ingredients – pyrasulfotole (Group 27), bromoxynil (Group 6) and fenoxaprop-pethyl (Group 1) for quick reliable control with flexible re-cropping options. No adjuvants or herbicide tank mixes are required – just add water and go. “Tundra is exceptionally crop safe with a wide window of application,” says Davis. “It includes a proprietary crop safener that has been tested on varieties of spring wheat, durum and barley throughout North America. The battlefield for yield Many common crop diseases can reduce yields in cereal crops by at least 10 percent, and in some situations by much more. Along with yield loss, disease can also affect quality reducing the crop value and returns to your bottom line. Fighting off disease requires selecting the right weapon and using the right strategy. That means applying a fungicide at the right rate, at the right time. But are fungicides worth the investment in time and money? That’s where the Bayer CropScience Fungicide Demonstration Strip Trial (DST) program comes in. This is the most comprehensive Western Canadian side-by-side field testing program to analyze the fungicide performance of Stratego®, Folicur ® EW and Prosaro™ in wheat, oats and barley compared to untreated acres. The field-scale fungicide DSTs, which were set up at 28 farm locations across the Prairies, are designed to simulate real field conditions. Each DST location has standardized treatments that are replicated twice. Treatments are sprayed side-by-side under identical soil, moisture, climatic conditions and agronomic practices to provide meaningful results.
