UPCOMING Years ago, a man who was facing hardship and deprivation wrote, “We felt like we had been sent to death row, that it was all over for us.” But then he reflected on some life lessons he had learned from the struggle: “Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally—not a bad idea since he’s the God who raises from the dead!” That man was the Apostle Paul (2 Corinthians 1:8-9, The Message). In the midst of the pandemic, as in all crises, we are reminded to focus on what we have left, not on what has been taken from us. Let’s count our blessings at least as often as we
count our losses. During times of uncertainty, God’s promises always shine brighter. I continue to be amazed at the resilience of our congregation. So many of you are giving, sharing, working and serving in heroic ways. We remain determined to live out our mission to welcome warmly, grow faithfully and serve generously, leading people into life-giving relationships with Christ and each other. God bless you. Stay safe and healthy. Grace,
Doyle
