MARCH
FIR ST BA PTIST CHURCH / JEF F ERSON CITY, MO
20 18
One of the signs of a healthy church is long, productive tenures among its leadership. We recently had a celebration of Rod and Sherry Maples’ 20th anniversary with our church. Rod’s work as Pastor of Worship is superb and is recognized all over the state and beyond. On a personal level, the friendship bond between the Maples and Sagers runs deep, preceding our time together here at FBCJC. All three of our children, now grown, were in Rod’s youth choir in Sedalia, and his impact on their lives is evident.
UPCOMING I’m thankful to pastor a church that loves and celebrates its staff. And I’m thankful to lead a staff team that is so dedicated, so loving and so fun to work with. If you ever take these healthy relationships for granted, just ask around. Many congregations struggle with staff tension, mistrust and a hyper-critical spirit from the membership. We are blessed! God is good. And we are poised for some great days ahead, as we work together in announcing to our community and world, “Come see what love can do.” Grace,
Doyle
