With the arrival of summer comes a busy season with vacations, weekends at the lake, and traveling sports teams. We imagine travel this summer will be more active than usual after a long year of staying home due to Covid. And we give thanks for this! As we look back on the past year, we can find plenty to grieve and mourn. But, there are also glimpses of good and opportunities for growth. Perhaps we savor time with family more than ever before, embracing tighter and longer than in the past. Maybe we are saying “no” more to protect the margin we’ve come to appreciate in the slower season of quarantine. Perhaps we have a greater awareness and gratitude for the essential workers we often take for granted. At FBC JC, one of the opportunities for us this season was the push to move our services online. Immediately after
Covid closed doors in March 2020, we moved to prerecorded services, premiering them Sunday mornings online. We did not miss a single Sunday, thanks to fantastic servant volunteers like Ken Satterfield. And, later this month, after our transition to fiber internet is complete, we will move from prerecorded services to live streaming both services! What an exciting new chapter in our story. Wherever you and your family happen to be on Sundays this summer, we hope you will continue to engage in worship with us via Facebook and Youtube as our guest preachers (listed to the right) proclaim God’s word to us.
