UPCOMING

Some observations: - When we recently baptized some new believers, I was reminded of the joy of seeing fresh faith, expressing itself in this “wet witness” to Jesus’ saving power. - Our FBC Care Center was a huge hit this spring. The Care Center is set up in a room near our Fellowship Hall and open prior to each Wednesday night meal. This space provides a modest wellness check-up and a free store for basic personal supplies. Several community friends have told me how much this center means to them.

- Please pray for Vacation Bible Camp and Sports Crusaders Camps, June 25-29. Through these events, we have the opportunity to impact many children and families with the message of Christ. - I’ll share some summer vacation with family this month and will also have the opportunity to represent FBC JC at Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s General Assembly in June and the Baptist World Alliance meeting in July. I hope your summer is off to a good start. Grace,

Doyle

Basecamp Sundays, 9:30-10:30am / Refuge Rm

Natalie officially begins June 3 but has already been working on summer plans for Refuge. We will finish up the summer calendar and mail it the first week of June. You can reach Natalie at youthintern@fbcjc.org or 573.690.3247. Natalie will also help lead worship for Vacation Bible Camp this summer. We’re grateful for Natalie’s heart and passion for ministry and the chance to serve with her again this summer.

Our June series is called “Finding My Way”. Sometimes the teen years can seem like “living-in-between”. When do you stop being a kid? When do you become an adult? What if people expect one thing, but you feel like you are the other? We will learn from scripture about what it means to embrace this period of transition through rites of passage; mentors and role models, and finding your identity in Christ.

FOOD 4 KIDS

SUMMER SERVING OPPORTUNITY Food 4 Kids is a program to provide nutritious lunches for children in our community on summer break without access to school lunches. Each week, volunteers prepare and deliver lunches to four locations. FBC is responsible for volunteers the week of July 30 – August 3. Eight volunteers are needed each

day to prepare and pack lunches. Six volunteers are needed each day to deliver lunches. The delivery teams go in pairs, drive your own vehicles, and require a little strength to lift the coolers. Background checks are required for delivery team volunteers. If you can help, please contact Melissa Hatfield at melissa@fbcjc.org or 573.634.3603 and let her know which team (preparing or delivery) and what days you can serve.
