While we are not there yet, we look forward to welcoming an intentional interim at First Baptist Church in the near future! This may leave you wondering, What exactly is an intentional interim? We’re glad you asked! An intentional interim has two primary purposes for the time they serve a local congregation, First, he or she provides pastoral leadership during the transition between pastors. An interim collaborates with the ministerial staff in preparation and leadership of congregational worship each week. He or she will also provide pastoral care to the congregation. An intentional interim also engages the congregation in preparing for the next pastorate at FBC and will equip our Pastoral Search Committee with the
knowledge and vision necessary to find the pastor who matches God’s plan for our congregation and mission. These are exciting days as we continue to move forward in faith and obedience, trusting God with our todays and our tomorrows. Please continue to pray for our wonderful Transition Committee and Pastor Search Committee. We are grateful for their leadership and service during this significant time in our journey as a faith family. An update from these committees can be found on page 3. With Christ’s hope and love,
