UPCOMING Starting over. Have you ever considered what a gift that is? In golf, a mulligan, in baseball, the next at bat and in basketball, a rebound shot. Every spring, a new growing season. Every fall, a new school year. Late November or early December marks the launch of a new Christian liturgical year. Every morning, a new day. Every Sunday, a fresh week. But there doesn’t seem to be a fresh start quite as big as New Year’s Day and the month of January.
As followers of the One who makes all things new, we should be familiar with fresh starts. Renewal is at the heart of the Christian journey. What will we do with the gift of 2019? As a church, how will we fill the next 365 days? Two marvelous thoughts come to mind. The first, from
