MISSIONS offering
- OUR GOAL -
$7,000 GIVE THIS DECEMBER!
Each December, we support global missions through a special offering. Give online or via special envelopes or by using the FBC Post Office in the lobby. Address your cards to church friends and place them in the slots by last name. Instead of paying for postage, donate the money you’ll save to global missions. Money can be deposited in the locked box on top of the mailbox. Check the mailbox each week to collect your mail.

Year-end contributions are greatly appreciated in helping us meet 2019 ministry expenditures. To be counted toward our 2019 Ministry Budget and to qualify as charitable deductions for income tax filing, all types of gifts must be received, postmarked, or transferred into an FBC-JC account no later than December 31, 2019. Cash and checks are the most frequent contribution made. However, givers may enjoy increased tax benefits by making other types of gifts. Two tax-wise contributions to consider are:
Gifts of Cash/Checks delivered to church office: These contributions must be received in the church office before the office closes on December 31, 2019 at NOON.
1. Transferring appreciated investments in-kind to FBC-JC to avoid capital gains tax. 2. For those age 70 ½ or older, make Qualified Charitable Distribution from IRA account to reduce taxable income. For more information or assistance with tax-wise gifting to FBC-JC, contact the church office.
Gifts by Check mailed to FBC-JC: Envelopes mailed must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2019. Gifts by transfer of securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds): Securities gifts must be transferred from the donor’s account to the FBC-JC brokerage account no later than December 31, 2019. Due to the paperwork involved and dependence upon brokerage and mutual fund service providers, it is best to initiate these gifts with the donor’s broker or securities representative by December 13, 2019. Gifts of “Qualified Charitable Distributions” from IRA accounts: For donor’s age 70 ½ or older with IRA accounts, Qualified Charitable Distributions made directly from the donor’s IRA custodian by custodian’s check mailed to FBC-JC and postmarked no later than December 31, 2019 is required. Due to the paperwork involved and dependence upon the IRA Custodian’s processing the gift, it is best to initiate these QCD direct transfer gifts by December 9, 2019.

Parents’ Night Out >> Friday, December 20 6-9pm/ FBC Gym Free for children ages 2- fifth grade RSVP by December 16
First Kids We are so proud of our First Kids! We’ve had a great fall together learning about God’s amazing creation, which God has given to us to enjoy and take care of. We even got to enjoy a field trip to Memorial Park to take a nature walk, share a meal, and play together. We have learned about the gift of the land, where soil comes from, and the plant life cycle. We’ve even done some experiments to observe top soil! We also hosted our preschool friends for a Halloween Preschool Buddies’ Party.

DECEMBER SERIES: UNWRAPPED When you think of Christmas, you probably think about an event — an event that is (hopefully) filled with gifts, food, family, and fun. But what happens when that event isn’t as joyful or peaceful as we wish it were? And is the “event” even what Christmas is about anyway? In this 2-week series, we’ll discover what this season is truly about. It’s about getting ready to receive God’s gift of Jesus and sharing that gift with others.
