As you have heard me say many mes, one of the things which makes FBC JC a great family is that we have the humility to understand that we belong to something larger than our local effort. Furthermore, we understand that something happened before we arrived on the scene. We belong to the larger Bap st and Chris an family. April is going to be a month in which we celebrate our rich Bap st connec ons. Friday, April 21, at Parkade Bap st Church, Columbia, we gather for Churchnet’s Spring Event, “New Morning.” One highlight will be the installa on of Dr. Brian Ford as the new Execu ve Director and a special thank‐you tribute to Dr. Jim Hill, as he re res from that post (thankfully, Jim is con nuing as our church’s Administrator). Sunday evening, April 23, in the Kansas City area, Bap st News Global will sponsor a special evening to honor Bill Webb, one of our faithful members, who recently re red as editor of Word and Way. Tuesday, April 25, 6:00pm at the University Club on the campus of the University of Missouri, Columbia, CBF Heartland will host a Celebra on of Excellence. Dr. Jim Hill will be one of the evening’s honoree. I hope you’ll watch the mail, check websites and take part in as many of these as possible. We always grow when we step into the stream of our larger faith tradi on. Speaking of our larger family, we were recently blessed to have Rev. Paul Msiza bring the message during our Ash Wednesday service. I saw him a week later at the mee ngs of the Bap st World Alliance and North American Bap st Fellowship in Washington, D.C. He spoke so warmly of his me with us, and s ll has some drawings the children gave him that evening! At our mee ng, we heard updates about God’s surprising movement in the world. Amazingly, some of the most Spirit‐anointed work is taking place in Syria! As I listened to this thrilling report, my mind went to 1 Cor. 16:9, where the Apostle Paul wrote, “For a wide door for effec ve work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” The two usually go hand‐in‐hand. Even as you read this, details are falling into place for our annual Mission JC (April 30), for all our summer mission trips, Vaca on Bible Camp and Sports Crusaders Basketball Camp. FBC JC—connected and on mission! Grace,
