TRICK OR DANCE! with a novelty of songs, and everybody was full of enthusiasm, spirit, and creative costumes! A few winners of the costume contest was picked by the DJ, and were rewarded with small prizes.
The dance was more successful and energetic than other years, especially because it was held in a separate day from the trick-ortreating on campus. In previous years, people would get tired after a long search for candy around campus that they couldn’t enjoy the dance with their full energy. Last Fall, October 31th, the Upper School students had a blast in the Halloween dance that was held in the Mars room from 7 o’clock to 9 p.m. Organized by Ms. Gifford and the 7th grade class officers (Kyle Jadul, Jack Griffin, Soo Hyun Oh, and Connor Arcara ’17), the dance was running more smoothly than ever! Everyone danced, enjoyed the delicious treats, and in general, had lots of fun socializing with each other.
for boarders got moved to Thursday, so the dance on Friday night could get held without any interference. Also, the 7th grade parents put in extra care and effort into preparing the food, drinks, and decorations; The DJ was ready
Even after the dance was over, the enthusiastic spirit remained. A majority of people that previously signed up as the setup, and clean-up crew stayed and helped the teachers, and multiple people contributed to cleaning even if they weren’t signed up! After everything was over and the Mars room was turned back to spotless, students got to go back to their houses, and dorms to relax for the Friday night, as well as for the upcoming weekend. However, the memories and excitement of the dance would remain forever in the countless photos, smiles, and candies piled up on the desks. By Dajung Lim ‘16
