2020 CITY MANAGEMENT RETREAT City Manager Ray Gibson facilitated the annual City Management Retreat on February 27.

CITY CLERK / DEPUTY CLERK ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: Staff meeting; Command Staff meeting; City Attorney consultation; Management Retreat.

Projects: Finalized details for the April 25 Shred & Recycle Day event; scheduled a follow-up Georgia Cities Week planning meeting; scheduled Mayor, City Council and staff for the Georgia Municipal Association conference in June.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 53 new; 61 closed.

Projects: Continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the new City Hall building; completed Police lobby camera installation; completed Court hallway camera installation; continued working with City Manager on software implementation; researching better Performance Management solution.

Meetings: Attended International City/County Management Association leadership training; Management Retreat; purchase order workflow meeting with Finance Department; security meeting with Police Department; met with vendor.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Unified Development Ordinance meeting 2/24; prepared for the March 5 and 6 Urban3 presentations; detour plan development for the hospital area trail project.

Main Street: Met with BGB Fitness regarding fall event at Southern Ground Amphitheater; continued preparation of the 2020 Concert Series, including capital repairs; met with staff and board members about sponsor package development.

Downtown Development Authority: Continued discussions on downtown real estate options; met with potential event management firm for the old gymnasium.

PIO / COMMUNICATIONS TEAM ANN MARIE BURDETT Promotions: 2020 U.S. Census Complete Count; Run the Ridge 5K 2/29; Urban3 talks.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY Training: Nine officers received advanced training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth; one officer is in field training and will test out this week.

Fund raising update: The Police Department raised $2,000 with the No-Shave initiative, with proceeds benefiting the Piedmont Fayette Hospital Cancer Wellness Center.

FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events: Division Chief Keith Harris and Volunteer Captain Scott Hindman attended the graduation ceremony for Firefighter Christian Parkerson as he completed Basic Training at the Georgia Fire Academy in Forsyth; units provided EMS standby for the annual Run the Ridge 5K event at The Ridge Nature Area.

Projects: Deputy Chief Linda Black and Division Chief Chris Peacock continue to work on the Lexipol Project; senior staff attended the Management Retreat at City Hall; announcement for upcoming captains process e-mailed out to Fire Department personnel; staff is currently monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the Georgia Department of Public Health regarding the COVID-19, or “Corona virus�, situation.

PUBLIC SERVICES CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and the Police Department; spread mulch at City Hall and the Engineering building; trimmed trees along Helen Sams Parkway; patched asphalt on Commerce Drive, North Glynn Street, and Julia Court; set up City Council Chambers for the Management Retreat; cut and maintained the Historic Train Depot property, Church Street Park, and Lane Brown Gazebo; completed trash pickup along Hwy. 54; and repaired erosion on the cart path along Beauregard Boulevard.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated is 2.531 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 1.401 million gallons of system demand; repaired three water leaks; performed maintenance on 92 water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Utility Locates: 75

HUMAN RESOURCES NELLA COOPER Personnel: Continuing with the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany; continuing with roles set-up and goals alignment with job roles; finalized 1095-C forms to be distributed March 2.

Turn Over Report: There was one termination and no new hires.
