HAPPY HOLIDAYS! As the end of the year approaches, your merry City of Fayetteville staff would like to wish everyone happy holidays!

CITY CLERK / DEPUTY CLERK ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: Attended Monday staff meeting; completed Agenda Packet for 12/5 City Council meeting.

Projects: Distributed Christmas Angels from Bloom Closet for Christmas gifts; received and reviewed quotes for exterminating companies for City buildings; completed applicant list for board member positions, will schedule committee meeting to review; finalizing GovDeals surplus list for Police Department.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 22 new; 34 closed.

Projects: Continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the New City Hall building; working on new Police Department record management system (continued); relocated court clerks camera; maintenance in council chambers; online payments for Building Department fully activated.

Meetings: Sector-Based Information Sharing and Analysis Centers teleconference meeting.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Met with Department of Community Affairs district representative regarding potential Downtown Fayetteville projects.

Main Street: Continued preparation and marketing for Christmas on Main Street; began analysis from initial amphitheater survey responses; discussions with County on decorative tree lighting at courthouse.

Downtown Development Authority: Further negotiations with potential tenant at Lester House.

PUBLIC SERVICES CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall, Police Department and the Public Services building; mulched leaves at the fountain; City-wide trash run; worked on constructing our leaf trailer for vacuuming leaves.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated is 2.141 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift stations sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 1.043 of system demand; performed maintenance on nine water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

PIO / COMMUNICATIONS TEAM ANN MARIE BURDETT Promotions: Christmas on Main Street 12/7; Municipal Run-off Election; 2019 Main Street Christmas Ornament for sale; Holliday Dorsey Fife Museum Victorian Christmas 12/7.

Meetings: Drug Free Fayette representatives Jean Felts and Mariam Shakeel.

Event Planning: HOA Town Hall in January.

Projects: New web site; business outreach; Fayette County High School outreach; New City Hall construction video; December City News magazine; Drug Free Fayette collaboration.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DAVID RAST Projects: Staff continued to work on the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). The next meeting of the UDO Advisory Board will be scheduled for next week; we spent a considerable amount of time researching and providing information to our consultant for the New City Hall project as it relates to the stormwater and hydrology report; we also spent time researching what was previously approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission as it relates to the conceptual site plan for the downtown hotel project.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY Training: 6 officers attended advanced training this week.

Holiday tip: Please have your holiday packages delivered to work if you can.

Another good tip is to have a neighbor or friend pick your holiday packages up for you when they are delivered. This time of year we see an increase in thefts from front porches Check our Facebook page for holiday safety tips.

No incidents were reported at Fayette Pavilion during this first busy holiday shopping weekend.

FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Training: All shifts completed EMS training at ERTSS. Meetings: Shift meetings held with Fire Chief Alan Jones and Deputy Fire Chief Linda Black for the new Performance Management System; our department hosted an eight-hour Georgia Emergency Management Agency course on Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface – 21 participants; Chief Jones completed the Certified Public Manager Course; Deputy Chief Black and Battalion Chief Chris Peacock attended weekly meeting with Lexipol Project Manger Andrew McGovern.

Policies and Procedures have been cross referenced and the first set of policies is currently under review.

Projects: All shifts are performing annual hydrant maintenance; apparatus building for Station #93 is in the process of being reassembled; continued to work on Lexipol Project.

HUMAN RESOURCES NELLA COOPER Personnel: We are continuing with the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany; we will begin setting up training for all users in ClearCompany for recruiting, onboarding, performance management and appraisals; continued with the implementation of the new benefits package for January 1 plan year; e-mailed communication about Open Enrollment and Benefits Meetings; opened up PlanSource (Benefits Admin System) for employees to log in and view their demographic information.

Turnover Report: There were no new employees hired and one employee termination during the week of November 25 - December 1, 2019.
