City officials participated in a mock City Council meeting to test the sound system in the new City Hall Council Chambers.

Held a meeting to discuss event-related items, including the new City Hall & City Center Park ribbon cutting and the first City Center Park event.

Held meetings with two City Council members at a time to discuss the gapfunding incentive for Meridian Square Investors, LLC. Held a meeting with Steve Mauro from Comprehensive Program Services to discuss the new City Hall & City Center Park punch list.

Attended the final owner-architect-contractor meeting for the new City Hall & City Center Park.

Held a meeting to discuss artwork ideas for the new City Hall & City Center Park.

Held meetings throughout the week with the IT staff to discuss various issues related to the new City Hall building.

Held a meeting with Steve Mauro to discuss new City Hall signage items.

Held a phone conference with Amy Bell and Katy Lucas from Goodwyn Mills Cawood to discuss furniture issues and additions.

Held a project update meeting with Steve Mauro regarding the new City Hall & City Center Park.

Met with Piedmont Fayette Hospital’s COO Nathan Nipper, who had a tour of the new City Hall & City Center Park.

CITY CLERK’S OFFICE ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: Attended the Management Team meeting 6/7; set up mock City Council meeting to test new Council Chambers equipment; met with clothing representative to size and order City shirts; attended a committee meeting to plan the City Hall ribbon cutting and City Center Park grand opening events.

Projects: Continued move and setup of new City Hall office; completed Georgia Municipal Association online conference registration for the Mayor, Council members, and staff; completed and published the City Council meeting agenda packet for 6/17; scheduled Shred-It for continued purge of records.

FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events - Truck 9 provided EMS standby for Georgia Military College graduation.

Projects - Fire Chief Alan Jones attended the following meetings: punch list meeting for new City Hall; owner-architect-contractor meeting; civil walkthrough of new City Hall. Deputy Chief Linda Black attended the walk-through and inspection of the new City Hall and City Center Park. Moved furniture from the old City Hall and replaced some Headquarters furniture. Began cleanup of old building department space. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of self-contained breathing apparatus mask and regulators continues.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY

▶ Monday, June 7 - Chief Scott Gray attended the weekly Management Team meeting. Held a Command Staff meeting. A budget review was held with Command Staff to review current-year budget. Office of Professional Standards assisted with Meals on Wheels. Began the 18th Annual Junior Police Academy. Approved to purchase the BolaWrap device. ▶ Tuesday, June 8 - Junior Police Academy continued. ▶ Wednesday, June 9 - Junior Police Academy continued. ▶ Thursday, June 10 - Victoria (Vicki) Clason started today as our Administrative Assistant for the lobby. Junior Police Academy continued. A conditional offer was made to Shun Williams for Police Officer I. ▶ Friday, June 11 - Graduation held for Junior Police Academy cadets.

Completed the weekly review of division weekly reports.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: Continue to update ClearCompany with Appraisals metrics.

Maintaining a case spreadsheet of potential pandemic cases involving City employees. Continuing to review and update various administrative policies for accuracy. Finalizing RFP for the Pay and Class Study.

Turn Over Report: There was one new-hire and no terminations during the period of June 7-13. There are 10 vacant positions: one in Fire Services, one in Public Services, six in the Police Department, one in Community & Economic Development (on hold), and one in Human Resources (on hold).

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Prepared for multiple City Council meeting agenda items; attended a bid opening for the hospital area trail/bridge project, awards expected to be issued next week; researched redevelopment options for the Highway 85 corridor.

Downtown Development Authority/Main Street: Continued marketing and scheduling efforts for the 2021 concerts; coordinated logistics for three separate events at the amphitheater Wednesday through Sunday; held first concert of 2021, Satisfaction, attendance was about 800; released pre-sale for the Don Felder concert; on-air interview for the concert series on 102.1 Fox FM.

PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; cut and maintained Veterans Parkway, Helen Sams Parkway, South Jeff Davis Drive, White Road, Church Street Park, Patriot Park, Gingercake Road, Lester Road, Banks Road, South Jeff Davis Drive, Lane Brown Gazebo, Courthouse Square, Holliday Dorsey Fife House, Lafayette Avenue and North Glynn Street intersection, and Jimmy Mayfield Boulevard. Installed signs in Dickson Springs Park and on Grady Avenue. Completed the trash run on the Courthouse Square and in the parks.

Safety marks on South Jeff Davis Drive. Trimmed at Bradford Square and Grady Avenue. Cut limbs at Maple Place. Trimmed and sprayed West Lanier Avenue islands. Cut at the amphitheater. Repaired fence on Beauregard Boulevard.

Assisted with moving items out of the old City Hall building. Cleaned debris on Lakemont Drive and at 370 North Jeff Davis Drive Stormwater: Sidewalk repair and curbing repair in the Emory Springs subdivision.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.46 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 27 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 0.98 million gallons of system demand per day; repaired four water main breaks; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
