CITY CLERK / DEPUTY CLERK ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: Hosted Lafayette Gardens HOA meeting; City Clerk Anne Barksdale and Deputy City Clerk Valerie Glass attended Georgia Clerks Education Institute in Jekyll Island.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 24 new; 30 closed.

Projects: Continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the New City Hall building; camera upgrade at Police Department; work flow processing for new utility customers; finance system software update and testing.

Meetings: International City/County Management Association Leadership Training; software training on community development; utility customers workflow demonstration with Finance Department; Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center monthly meeting.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Final preparations with Fayette County Development Authority for upcoming retail consultant visit; met with Meridian on the Square developer to discuss additional infrastructure needs; prepared for upcoming Urban3 presentation.

Main Street: Continued preparing for 2020 Concert Series, including graphic design of promotional material; discussed budget with Main Street Tourism Association officers; continued Suds on the Square event planning.

Downtown Development Authority: Held meeting to discuss downtown real estate options; held team meeting to discuss downtown road network options.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY Training: One officer is still in the Field Training program, and Officer Berenyi tested out of the program and has been assigned to a shift. Four officers completed advanced training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth.

Criminal Incident: Officers responded to the January 27 shooting incident that took place at the Discount Tobacco gas station located on Hwy. 85 North (North Glynn Street) at Kathi Avenue in Downtown Fayetteville. It was discovered that occupants of two vehicles at the gas station interacted with each other, which led to a suspect opening fire at occupants in the other vehicle. The victim’s vehicle fled the scene northbound and a short distance later, the driver, believing they were being followed by the shooter, began driving erratically, colliding with another vehicle on Creekwood Trail between Walgreens and Chuck E Cheese. The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound, was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.

FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events: Meeting held for department officers (captains and above); two firefighter recruits completed Week Three of the Basic Firefighter Program at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth.

Projects: Deputy Chief Linda Black and Division Chief Chris Peacock continue working on the Lexipol Project; Chief Alan Jones attended the City directors’ ClearCompany training session; Chief Jones attended the Fayette County 911 Board meeting.

PUBLIC SERVICES CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall, Police Department and Public Works/Distribution Administration building; citywide litter pickup; collected leaves at Amphitheater; picked up limbs from Georgia Department of Transportation off Jeff Davis Drive.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated is 2.241 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift stations sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 1.581 million gallons of system demand; repaired five water leaks; performed 11 water meter maintenance; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Utility Locates: 89

HUMAN RESOURCES NELLA COOPER Personnel: Continuing with the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany; continuing with roles set-up and goals alignment with job roles; completed initial training on Monday, January 27.

Turn Over Report: There were no employees hired or terminated during the week of January 27, 2020.
