Can soci e amici, Ci awiciniamo alla fine di giugno 2017, il termine di un altro anno da presidente del Veneto Club. E' con grande piacere che vi presento il rapporto annuale in occasione del 50esimo anniversario della fondazione del sodalizio. Un traguardo importante e it coronamento degli sforzi dei sod fondatori, oltre che di tutti i membri che hanno reso it club quello che a oggi.

Ricevo molti, moltissimi complimenti sul nostro sodalizio e sulla sua reputazione e di questo dobbiamo renderne atto a tutti i comitati, quelli passati e quello attuate, ai tutti i soci e gli awentori e, principalmente, al personale e ai dirigenti. Voglio cogliere questa opportunity per ringraziare ancora una volta it comitato per it lavoro, la dedizione e l'impegno net corso dell'anno e tutti i volontari, le Ladies Auxiliary e i gruppi sportivi per il loro apporto. Una menzione speciale va a Joe Morello e al suo personale peril lavoro e it livello dei servizi e del cibo presentati al club. Un impegno che viene riconosciuto dalle tantissime persone che partecipano ai nostri eventi. • Lo scorso anno 6 stata completata la ristrutturazione della cucina del Bistro che ha dato un tocco in pin alla piacevote atmosfera del ristorante oltre a creare un ambiente di lavoro pit) consono e moderno per it personale di cucina. Inoltre, sono soddisfatto di vedere un ritorno positivo delle spese di capitale fatte peril rinnovo.

In seno al comitato stiamo discutendo altri miglioramenti preventivati per quanto riguarda spazi del club e infrastrutture sportive e ci auguriamo di poterli presentare ai soci nel corso delta prossima Assemblea generale annuale.

Consapevoti che sono passati quasi 44 anni dal dicembre 1973, data di inaugurazione ufficiale del Veneto club, dobbiamo tenere a mente di avere sempre a disposizione dei fondi per far fronte alle riparazioni e atla manutenzione dell'edificio, lavori che si stanno rivelando dispendiosi. D'altro canto, non abbiamo altra scelta che mantenere la propriety ai piu alti standard possibili.

Padre Vito ha gia celebrato diverse messe presso il Club, apprezzate dai soci. Un ringraziamento a padre Vito da parte mia e di tutto it comitato.

Una menzione particolare va alla vicepresidente Paola Girardi, che ha generato un rinnovato entusiasmo e fornito assistenza alle Ladies Auxiliary, un gruppo che ha sempre lavorato instancabilmente con il club: un ringraziamento a loro e a te, Paola.

Al nostro chef David Gauci che continua a sorprendere piacevolmente per la qualita delle sue creazioni, un ringraziamento a te e al tuo staff per gli standard ottenuti.

In ultima battuta, ma non meno importante, un ringraziamento va a tutti i soci e ai loro amici per il continuo supporto e to continua frequentazione del club net corso dell'anno. Vi incoraggio ad invitare familiari e amici ad iscriversi al nostro club.

I receive many, many compliments about our Club and its reputation and I think this is a credit to all Committees, past and present, its members and patrons, and importantly the Club's management and all its staff. I take this opportunity to once again thank my Committee for their hard working, dedicated effort throughout the year and all of the volunteers and Ladies Auxiliary and sporting bodies for their work also.

A special mention to Joe Morello and his staff, for their hard work and high quality food and service that is provided at the Club. This has indeed been endorsed by

him for his dedicated work and I wish to thank our Finance Committee for their continued

I would like to welcome Father Vito Pegolo to the Club as our Club Chaplain - Father Vito Pegolo replaces Father Giuliano Cavarzan, who retired back to Italy in October last year.

Father Vito has already celebrated some masses at our Club with our members expressing great appreciation for the time he has dedicated to our Club. A big thank you to Father Vito. from my Committee and I. I would like to make special mention to Paola Girardi from our Committee who has generated great enthusiasm and assistance to the Ladies Auxiliary. The Ladies Auxiliary have always worked tirelessly for the Club - a thank you to them, and to you Paola.

Our Head Chef, David Gauci, always continues to impress with his food quality at our Club, thank you to David and his staff for the standard of food that you achieve.

Last, but not least, I would like to thank all of our members and friends for their continued patronage and support to the Veneto Club throughout the year. I urge you to ask family members especially, as well as friends, to join us as members of our Club.

I look forward to seeing you at our Club premises throughout the year as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary year and reminisce on all the memories.

The last year has seen the completion of the kitchen upgrade to our Bistro, which has added to the enjoyable atmosphere in the Bistro and also made the working environment in the kitchen more modern and pleasurable for our staff. In addition, I am satisfied that our capital expenditure to the Bistro kitchen upgrade is showing us a positive return.

We have further planned capital upgrades to our Club and Sporting Grounds which are being discussed by my Committee and, hopefully, ready to convey to our members by the next Annual General Meeting.

We have to be mindful to always keep funds aside to cope with repairs and maintenance to our premises, as it approaches 44 years since opening back in December 1973, some of the maintenance is proving to be very expensive. We have no choice but to keep our premises at the highest possible standard.

We celebrate the legacy of those who believed in and acted upon a vision and the leaders and members who expanded that vision.

VICE PRESIDENT It is with a great pleasure that I submit my 2016/17 Vice-President's Report in this 50th Anniversary year of the Veneto Club.

At last year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) the residing Committee presented the assembly with the significant challenges facing the Club and a number of initiatives planned to address these challenges. At the conclusion of this meeting the newly elected Committee included a healthy blend of experience and 'youth', with a common purpose of working on the initiatives presented to ensure that our treasured Club continues to provide a haven for our successors in future years.

A year down the track and I am very pleased to say that our Committee members have all worked very hard under the strong but inclusive leadership of our President, Louis Crema. to deliver on those initiatives. All Committee members feel a very strong connection to the heritage of our Club and they bring a diverse range of skills and experience that have proven invaluable in ensuring the Club delivers on its' Mission Statement ... "to maintain, promote and foster the Veneto (Club) Culture through food, sport, social and community interaction for members and the wider community". The newer members of our Committee have embraced their responsibilities with enthusiasm and vigour and their input and direction has been pivotal, particularly, in re-invigorating the Veneto Club's offering in the cultural pillar.

One initiative that I would specifically like to mention is the drive to have new members join our Club. Under the guidance and leadership of our Club Secretary, Frank Freschi, the measures put in place have resulted in a very significant number of new members.

I would like to acknowledge and congratulate Frank for the successful implementation of this initiative.

From a financial point of view, the past twelve months have been very interesting. The Committee has been focused on ensuring that the future financial strength of the Club is not too heavily dependent on any one source of revenue. Once the Bistro renovations were complete late last year we saw an immediate and significant increase in revenue from our Bistro and functions area highlighting the importance and necessity of the significant investment made. This also serves as a reminder that we should not shy away from significant re-investment in our facilities whilst maintaining our prudent fiscal approach. It is important to note that our Treasurer, Dino De Bortoli, works very closely with the senior management team and regularly seeks consul from the Finance Sub-Committee with the focus being on managing the Club's finances conservatively.

The continued success of the Veneto Club is dependent on many factors. Not only is it imperative to have a cohesive and harmonious Committee with a shared vision setting the direction, but also a dedicated and hard-working management team and staff. Joe Morello and his management team/staff deserve high praise for the passion and dedication they bring to their jobs. The degree of complexity in an organisation like the Veneto Club is significant and under Joe's leadership our staff do a wonderful job in satisfying our members' and guests.

Also, a big thank you to everyone that has set aside time to be on Veneto Club SubCommittees and to all our volunteers that make themselves available to assist in the running of the Club. My fellow Committee members and I are very grateful for your continued contribution. Some of you have been contributing for many, many years.

Without your help the Veneto Club would not be as successful as it is today.

In closing, we all should be very proud that we are celebrating the Veneto Club's 50th Anniversary. Let's look forward to the next 50 years.

Since the 2016 AGM, we have had a key project come through to completion on-time and budget; of expanding the Bistro Kitchen, increasing the Bistro and Private Dining areas, with the purpose to improve customer satisfaction, capability for new menus, faster food order turnaround and manage increased patronage. This work was assisted under the close day-to-day monitoring of General Manager Joe Morello, his team and the guidance of our Celebrity Head Chef David Gauci and his staff who never compromised on the range and quality of food the Bistro now delivers to diners.

We were honoured when The City of Manningham, on 26th January 2017, awarded Veneto Club the Manningham's Australia Day Perpetual Trophy and Certificate of Citation for community service and charity work as a local Club and, through BLUSH fundraising efforts, a donation to Doncare in 2016.

Sporting achievements and accolades have continued for our National Premier League (NPL) and Womens National Premier League (WNPL) FC Bullen Lions (FCBL) teams, along with the other sporting groups and affiliations, which were well supported and patronised throughout the year. We invested to grow and guide a vibrant sporting culture within the Club and local community.

The Veneto Club has started to build upon the success in food, entertainment and sports. In this 50th Year, we are proactively leveraging our heritage under this Committee's leadership to ensure key events have more traditional cultural themes representing our proud Veneto migrant background.

Major events, like 2017 'Sagra San Marco' which, despite the rain. brought hundreds of keen people to the event hosted by the Veneto Club and all the Associations. 'Una Notte Sotto Le Stelle' in December was a night of fun entertainment for young and the young-at-heart.

Hosting Melbourne Food and Wine Festival this March/April in a welcoming `al fresco' area of La Gondola was a huge success.

In February, the "Federazione Associazioni Venete" established its Victorian headquarters in Suite 1. We are proud and pleased of this move on our premises as it provides mutual benefits to Veneti.

A key objective in the past year was to grow our membership via two promotions; a waiver of the Joining Fee to attract new members especially descendants of current members. and in our Golden Jubilee marking 50 Years of the founding of the Veneto Club, the Committee rewarded a $50 card voucher to each new and current members during our 2016-17 year.

The result is, our membership grew 21%. We experienced a doubling of women memberships to 1 in 3 new members and there has been a steady and significant take-up in membership by younger new members in 2016-17.

We are fortunate to have a hardworking general management team and staff that deliver what members want, so on behalf of the Committee, we thank Joe, his management staff and employees.

The Club will remain successful with the ongoing patronage and active support of our members, the Associations, the Ladies Auxiliary, guests/visitors, our sporting groups and the wider community.

Meeting (AGM), the Club has been able to grow by 221 new members since June 2016. This is the largest increase in membership for many years with a significant portion of these as ordinary members. The incentives introduced, has resulted in a 20% increase in discounts returned to members. I trust that current and new members are making good use of the membership benefits available.

The overall financial performance for the year was not as strong as last year. Contribution from gaming revenue was a reduction on prior year. This was a state trend and management has planned new activities and initiatives in order to improve gaming revenue for the new financial year. Food and beverages has enjoyed increased revenues in almost all function areas but particularly in the Bistro since November. Increased revenue and improved margin in food and beverage partly offset the reduction in gaming.

With regard to the sporting activities, our largest activity, football, had a very difficult year after being promoted to National Premier League (NPL), Victoria's highest level. Ultimately it was a successful year as FC Bulleen Lions (FCBL) were the only newly promoted team not to Dear fellow members, it is with pleasure that I present my Treasurer's report for 2017. In this celebratory year of our 50th year of foundation we have achieved many projects through the support of the General Manager, Joe Morello and his team.

The new Bistro was successfully completed in November 2016. During this project, we took the opportunity to further enhance the private dining area of the Bistro, further expanding its capacity. Both these facilities have received high praise from members, visitors and Community Clubs Victoria. The trading performance of the new Bistro since the opening in November has been above our expectation producing a 15% increase in revenue compared to last year.

Of note, with the membership incentives agreed at the previous Annual General

Management is in the process of planning the senior pitch upgrade. The success of the senior football teams together with our vision to increase participation in our other sports facilities has resulted in the Committee appointing Mr David Del Monaco in a new position, Sports Development Manager in September 2016, with the objective to further assist FCBL and provide better direct assistance to our various sports sub-committees. He has been tasked to develop participation for our sports activities.

The net profit for the year was a reduction on last year's figure of $710,000, but we still saw a healthy profit. It highlights a reduced dependence on gaming and improved performance of food and beverage as well as increased return to members through direct discounts.

In relation to the Club's cash position and as was discussed at last year's AGM, we have managed to fully repay the remaining balances of the initial commercial loan $363.000. as well as the gaming licence fees, $387,000, by February 2017. The Club now has a new commercial loan, initially $1,270,000, taken out for the Bistro works completed in November.

This loan has also been paid down to $1,000,000 and is expected to be fully repaid within the next two years.

A strong cash position is needed to enable the Club to work through its facility improvement plan which is constantly under review. Along with the pending replacement of the synthetic pitch, we have identified that some of the Club's facilities and assets are aging, requiring increasing maintenance and we need to consider possible replacement or upgrade of these facilities.

The Committee is focused on continuing to improve the Club's financial position in all areas in order to present to its members a strong growing facility that continues to support the Veneto heritage and culture, forward into the future. This vision cannot be achieved without the continuous support of our management team, their staff and the many volunteers that have contributed during the year to enhance and advance the Veneto Club for the benefit of all members and I thank them for their hard work.

Da sempre soddisfazione potersi fermare a riflettere sui risultati ottenuti netfanno appena trascorso. Ancora una volta, it Veneto Club e stato testimone di una forte crescita per quanto riguarda le entrate net settore della ristorazione nonostante un lieve calo degli introiti provenienti dal gioco d'azzardo.

La ristrutturazione della zona bar e del Bistro ha avuto un eccezionale riscontro, to stesso si pub dire delristallazione di una nuovissima cucina. I lavori sono stati ultimati secondo le tempistiche e rientrando quasi del tutto nella previsione di spesa e i benefici a livello di efficienza si vedono non solo dal punto di vista degli avventori ma anche dal lato operativo.

Fin dal completamento delta ristrutturazione verso la fine dello scorso novembre, le prenotazioni al bistro sono state sopra ogni aspettativa. Anche i cambiamenti apportati ally zona di Private Dining sono stati ben accolti e hanno consentito l'aumento dei posti a sedere.

Lo scorso 22 aprile, ho partecipato all'annuale cerimonia di premiazione di Community Clubs Victoria net corso delta quale it Veneto Club ha vinto it premio peril Migtio progetto a sostegno ally comunita grazie al comitato di 'Blush by the Veneto Club' che dal 2011 raccoglie fondi a favore di diversi enti benefici. Un riconoscimento di cui tutti dovremmo essere orgogliosi, dai soci agli ospiti, dai volontari al personale, dal comitato agli sponsor.

Congratulazioni vanno anche al nostro chef David, finatista nella categoria del Miglior chef.

Il Veneto Club 6 arrivato in finale anche per la Miglior ristrutturazione dell'anno, ripagando it grande sforzo fatto.

Ogni anno it Veneto Club organizza moltissimi eventi di successo e gli scorsi dodici mesi non sono stati un'eccezione. Ogni appuntamento migtiora e cresce di anno in anno: "Una Notte Sotte Le Stetle", la grigliata dell'Austratia Day e la Sagra di San Marco hanno visto un'ampia partecipazione alla stregua di altre festivity annuali come it Natale, it Veglione di Capodanno, Pasqua e la Festa della mamma. Anche dal punto di vista deli'intrattenimento, i concerti e gli spettacoti in programme sono stati seguiti da tantissime persone e ci sono diverse novita in calendario anche per i prossimi mesi.

Un altro importante evento che sono lieto di presentare e it Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. che ha visto ancora una volta it coinvolgimento del Veneto Club. Quest'anno, sono state organizzate due serate a distanza di una settimana l'una dall'altra, due occasioni che hanno messo in mostra l'incredibile offerta gastronomica, affiancata da ottimi fini e presentata in stazioni tematiche della nostra esperta squadra di cucina. GENERAL MANAGER It is pleasing to reflect on our accomplishments of the past year. Once again we have enjoyed another very strong year of positive revenue growth in food and beverage whilst gaming revenue has dropped off slightly.

The success of our renovation to the Bistro and Gaming Bar and installation of a brand new Kitchen has been astounding. The works were delivered in a timely manner and almost on budget. The efficiencies achieved are proving to be beneficial not only from a customer service perspective but also from an operational perspective.

Since completion in mid to late November last year bookings in the Bistro have been overwhelming. The changes to the Private Dining area have also proven to be very popular especially with its increase in seating capacity.

In 2016, we hosted our first Oaks Day Luncheon. Guests indulged in a lavish afternoon of fashion, races and flowing

The following is a wrap of what happened in sport at the Veneto Club in 2016.

Starting with Football (Soccer), 2016 was FC Bulleen Lions' first season in the National Premier League (NPL). It was always going to be a tough year and the Men left it to the last game to pull out something special and beat finals contender Hume City 2-0 to finish 11th and earn their stay in the NPL for 2017, a great achievement by Senior Coach Dom Barba, his support staff and the players.

New Club Technical Director of Football - Harry Bingham - also started to implement his framework for development across the juniors. Harry is adamant that FC Bulleen Lions (FCBL) will produce its own senior players and is creating a platform and pathway which will facilitate training and playing up between age groups with talented juniors getting to experience senior football as early as possible.

The Sports Department extends warm greetings to all our members, customers and stakeholders. And on behalf of the Sports Department, it is with great pleasure that I am delivering my first report as the Sports Development Manager of the Veneto Club.

I would like to start by saying what a wonderful facility the Veneto Club provides its members and patrons. The newly renovated bistro and functions speak for themselves but it is the variety of sporting facilities, catering for football, tennis, squash, basketball, futsat and Bocce that truly make the Veneto Club a Sports & Entertainment centre.

Sport has had a significant role in the history of the Veneto Club with the majority of its members/patrons involved in a sport at the venue. Given that sport, more than ever, is a major part of Australian culture, I am confident in saying that it will continue to contribute to the longevity, sustainability and future growth of the Veneto Club.

It is through sport that many people begin their relationship with the Veneto Club and this is the opportunity that we need to take advantage of. The Sports Department has a plan and is developing/implementing strategies to increase participation of its sporting facilities with the view of seeing this growth transition into patronage of the Veneto Club's Bistro and entertainment facilities.

The Sports Department's vision is for the Veneto Club to be regarded as the venue of choice in the region because we provide a quality sports & entertainment experience.

We want the Veneto Club to be known as a sports complex that welcomes ALL people

Speaking of talented footballers, FCBL can be proud that a significant number of individual junior players were recognised with selections for State squads and the Talent Identification Program. As a collective the Junior Boys were ranked 4th in the NPL East Conference - the highest finish for the Club since the introduction of NPL. The 2016 season was also the inaugural year for the National Premier League Women's (NPLW). The Senior Women finished third in the league and made the Team App Cup final for the third year in a row, the only Women's team to achieve this feat.

Add to this two Championship wins from the U13 and U18 Girls, a very commendable mid-table finish by the U15 Girls, and FCBL Women can deservedly claim to be the most successful Club in the NPLW's first season which is something we should all be proud of.

Long-time traditional sports at the Veneto Club, Tennis and Squash, received some much needed attention to their facilities. The Veneto Club conducted major repairs to the tennis courts bringing them back to competition standard while the squash courts received a complete make-over with both floors and walls undergoing refurbishment. It is expected that these renovations will provide the impetus to attract new players and members going forward.

Then we have the basketball stadium. There was probably concern that life after the Bulleen Boomers would be bleak but not so as the Stadium is a hub of activity with over 3000 players turning up each week to play competition basketball or futsal. The Sports Department will work together with these sports to continue the growth in participation.

The Veneto Club's Fiveaside Competition also continues to go from strength to strength with the tournament exceeding 100 teams for the first time in its 10 year history. The Veneto Club welcomed its first major sponsor of Fiveaside with Kappa Australia jumping on board, recognising, and wanting to be associated with, the success of the competition.

Bocce and Golf continue to fulfil the needs of their members by facilitating Club competitions and social outings. I commend the sub-committees for the amount of selfless effort they put in to bring together long-time members to enjoy the sport they love in an enjoyable and friendly environment.

Sports cannot function without the support of the greater team. Special thanks go to all the volunteers across all sports that do a great job supporting their teams. FC BULLEEN LIONS SENIOR MEN After being crowned National Premier League (NPL) 2 champions in 2015 and automatically achieving promotion, the Senior Mens team acquitted themselves well in the 2016 premier competition, the NPL. The Senior Men finished eleventh and thus avoided relegation on the very last day of the season. This achievement is all the more meritorious given the challenges that the season presented.

Some of the seasons highlights: 1. The 5th best defence in the competition . FC Bulleen Lions (FCBL) Senior Men conceded 32 goals for the year, some teams conceded more than 50 goals.

2. Round 26 clash vs Hume City. The side needed to win to avoid relegation and saved the best performance of the year to this game. Deserved winners 2-0 given that Hume City were assured of a finals berth having finished the season in 6th position.

3. Home game vs South Melbourne (eventual 2016 NPL Champions). The most exhilarating game of the year. The team was leading 2-0 only to be pegged back in the last 10 minutes to finish the game 2-2.

4. Away Game vs Pascoe Vale. This game highlighted the need for total team concentration given that Pascoe Vale is renowned for their great team culture, but FC Bulleen Lions were up for the fight. Eventual winners 1-0.

All in all, season 2016 was a successful campaign but not without its ebbs and flows. The football department led by Head Coach Dom Barba should be commended for this effort.

MINI ROOS It was a great 2016 season. We saw full participation and numbers maximised in all of our age groups including the Girls U10 team. Our Technical Director for the Miniroos, Andrew Andriopoulos, focused on Striking the Ball, First Touch, 1 v 1, and Running with the ball. We saw an over demand for the limited places we had and encouraging signs are that parents as well as footballers were keen to get on board.

NPLW WOMEN & GIRLS The 2017 season was the inaugural year for the National Premier League Women's (NPLW). FC Bulleen Lions (FCBL) Women's were successful in obtaining a licence to participate at the highest levet in the state and overall we can claim to have been the most successful Club in the NPLW's first season.

If the above was not enough, throw in a very competitive season from our Under 15 Girls, who started slowly but had an excellent second half of the season, and our Miniroos Girls showing talent beyond their years, you have a very successful first season of NPLW of which we should all be proud.

The Senior Women's team lead from the front and at the half way mark of the season were on top of the league. However, following a number of departures for travel/work reasons, compounded by a spate of injuries lead to mixed results for the remainder of the season and the seniors finished the year in a very commendable third place. In the Team App Cup, another wonderful performance by our seniors saw them make the grand final for the third year in a row, the only Women's team to achieve this feat. However, a second Cup win was not to eventuate with our Women losing the final to Heidelberg United who were just too good on the day.

Such success cannot be achieved without the support of the greater team. Special thanks go to our very professional and passionate Coaches who do a great job developing our players in a positive and enjoyable environment. Then there are the people that support the teams (i.e. Team Managers, Sports Chiros, Marshals, Assistant Lines people, Administration, etc...) as without their assistance game days would not be possible. Lastly, but definitely not least, are our wonderful sponsors who's financial support makes it possible to provide the women's department with the apparel, equipment, healthcare, coaching and support required to be competitive at the NPL level.

This brings me to our NPLW Juniors. There are only four (4) age groups in the NPLW being seniors, under 18, under 15 and under 13. So to win two (2) championships from the 4 on offer was an amazing achievement for the Club. What happened could only be described as ordinary beginnings to extraordinary endings. Both the Under 13s and Under 18s were in disarray early in the season suffering from a lack of players and coaching issues. But once these issues were resolved with new players and coaches both teams went on to have an extraordinary season culminating in the fairytale ending - winning the championship.

SPAIN TOUR 2016 It was the 20th of September 2016, when the U16 FC Bulleen Lions team had an experience of a lifetime. Travelling overseas with your best friends playing the game that you love is one of the best experiences ever and wilt be forever memorable. The tour was divided into two parts; Barcelona and Madrid, consisting of playing matches, training with professional coaches and sight-seeing.

Playing matches was the highlight of the tour. We were fortunate to play three games in Madrid against; Rayo Vallecano, Leganes and Atletico Madrid and one game in Barcelona against; Girona FC. Although the results were three losses and one draw, it was good to see the difference in standards between Europe and Australia. It was fair to say that the tactical knowledge and technical ability by these teams (especially Rayo Vallecano) were significantly above Australia's level.

Furthermore, we had three training sessions that were run by a professional coach who is a coach at the Real Madrid academy.

Aside from the playing aspects of the tour, we were able to visit the two famous stadiums; Santiago Bernabeu and Camp Nou. We managed to watch Real Madrid vs

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE VENETO CLUB GOLF

It was late 2004 when after the Comunita' Montana del Altopiano di Asiago golf group called it a day, that I approached some golfing members of the Veneto Club together with some Golfers who had been members of the Comunita' Montana to see if we could form a golfers' group within the Veneto Club.

In 2012 the President, Frank Pezzin, introduced and donated a new Perpetual Trophy: the "Presidents Cup" which is played every year in October and this year, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its foundation, the Veneto Club has donated a perpetual 'Veneto Club Trophy" which will be played every year in March.

Squash at the Veneto Club is going from strength to strength. Currently the Autumn Carnival has five passionate teams, varying from C Grade to F Troop with at least 3 teams showing a real possibility of winning the blue pennant flag in their respective grades, within the Club Circuit League.

Last year we had some outstanding results. Veneto Squash team; Libero Dalla Zuana, Jack De Lutis, Paul De Lutis and Angelo Amato took home the F Grade pennant premiership in the Autumn Season. In the Spring Carnival 2016 season Veneto Squash were runners-up in C Grade with players John Cassar, Mitch Williamson, Diah Hammoud and Joe Dicintio.

MAINTENANCE It is gratifying to report that the Courts 1, 2, 3 and 4 were re surfaced with new layers of en tout cas, new base lines placed and two new drainage pits installed. This restoration work has brought the courts back to a top standard for our members to use.

COACHING The Veneto Club has an excellent Coaching Programme in the Vida Tennis Academy, which is directed by Vince Dattoli, Kane Dewhurst and Ashleigh Richardson. The Vida Tennis team set the standard for the coaching industry with qualifications and experiences that are unsurpassed. Throughout the teams network they have the highest accreditations that Tennis Australia is looking for. They are committed to each individual and in many aspects to producing an all rounded tennis player. Coaching is available every day for all age groups at all standards. LADIES AUXILIARY Gli anni passano in fretta, specie se pensiamo che it nostro Club festeggia 50 anni di servizio alla comunita Veneta del Victoria. Da parte del nostro gruppo femminile vogliamo augurare al Veneto Club un prospero awenire ricco di successi.

Le Ladies Auxiliary sono un gruppo di volontarie avviato negli anni 1969-1970 e da allora 6 sempre attivo e impegnato in ogni occasione: nell'organizzazione di feste durante t'anno e, soprattutto, nel fornire supporto, anche quando it tempo non tanto favorevole. Purtroppo, l'anno scorso abbiamo perso un pitastro importante del comitato, la nostra presidente Lidia Rigoni.

Quest'anno ho avuto l'onore di essere eletta presidente delle Ladies Auxiliary e con i miei 22 anni di volontariato, mi sento come a casa. Anche se non siamo numerose siamo motto impegnate e lavoriamo con dedizione. Nel 2016 abbiamo donato al Veneto Club $10.000 che sono stati usati per acquistare nuove sedie, oltre

ASSOCIAZIONE PADOVANI NEL MONDO Sin dal 1986, anno delta fondazione dell'Associazione Padovani net Mondo, it Veneto Club 6 sempre stata la base per le principali ricorrenze e siamo orgogliosi di aver fatto parte di un capitolo della sua storia. In occasione del 50esimo anniversario del Veneto Club, porgiamo quindi al comitato, alto staff e a tutti i soci le piO sentite congratulazioni con l'augurio di un lungo e prospero futuro e la speranza di poter continuare a collaborare per molti anni a venire e a portare avanti le nostre tradizioni tramandandole alle generazioni future.

Nell'anno appena trascorso anche la nostra Associazione ha celebrato un importante traguardo, it trentesimo anniversario. La Sala Venezia, to scorso aprile, a stata riempita di fiori per questo evento. Tra le attivita organizzate durante l'anno sociale, a partire dall'Assemblea Generale Annuale di fine tugtio, ricordiamo it pranzo di Primavera dedicato a ricordare la storia dell'Associazione attraverso fotografie e immagini dei 30 anni di eventi e incontri; la gita ai giardini botanici di Cranbourne a novembre; it Picnic di Natale con la presenza di tantissimi bambini e giovani famiglie; it Picnic di Carnevale con la gara per i migliori crostoli e frittelle; l'escursione al Begonia Festival di Ballarat; un pranzo sociale preparato dal comitato ad aprile e la nostra tradizionale festa di Sant'Antonio in giugno, patrono di Padova e dei viaggiatori, con la benedizione dei panini, che un tempo, in Italia, venivano donati a poveri e indigenti come gesto di carita.

La beneficenza rimane importante un element° importante per l'Associazione che ogni anno dona fondi per la ricerca e a enti caritatevoli (Good Friday Appeal, Cancer Council, etc). Lo scorso anno, i Padovani di Melbourne hanno risposto senza indugio all'appello

ASSOCIAZIONE TREVISANI NEL MONDO L'Associazione Trevisani net Mondo (A.T.M.) di Melbourne quest'anno festeggia it 44esimo anniversario continuando ad offrire ai suoi soci feste e attivita diverse sempre ben organizzate e di successo.

All'interno del Comitato dell'Associazione, negli ultimi tempi, abbiamo osservato alcuni cambiamenti dovuti principalmente alreta matura di alcuni suoi membri che hanno lasciato it posto a nuove persone, soprattutto giovani e donne che danno nuova linfa ed entusiasmo per gli anni a venire.

Come ogni anno le attivita sociali iniziano verso la meta di febbraio con it Picnic Annuale che, grazie ella splendida giornata soleggiata, net 2016 ha visto un buon numero di partecipanti arrivati di buon mattino per occupare i posti migliori e per assistere alla Santa Messa celebrata da Padre Giuliano.

ENTE VICENTINI NEL MONDO Gli anni passano in fretta e gia e arrivato per it Veneto Club it cinquantesimo anniversario: da parte del comitato vicentino, un augurio per un futuro roseo e prospero.

Il circolo vicentino nacque it primo marzo 1984 e, dopo piO di trent'anni, continua a "galleggiare bene", finche ci saranno i remi e le braccia forti del comitato, la barca continuera ad andare, anche controcorrente.

L'anno scorso, abbiamo perso sette soci, 23 non hanno rinnovato la tessera, ma grazie alle piO di 25 nuove iscrizioni, it circolo e cresciuto di 13 sod (nel 2016 sono stati 277 i membri paganti).

Per quanto riguarda tanno sociale, uno dei maggiori eventi dell'anno concluso e stato it convegno dei sette circoli vicentini d'Austratia tenutosi a Griffith to scorso ottobre.

Sono seguiti it Picnic delle Patme atla Baracca (290 partecipanti); la gita delle castagne ad Healesville (con due pullman di gitanti) e rescursione a Myrtleford per to famosa Fiera (un pullman). A luglio si Ê tenuto it pranzo annuate in Sala Venezia (con 203 commensal') mentre a novembre un altro importante appuntamento e la Festa Vicentina alla Baracca del Veneto Club (350 persone) che ha anticipato la gita delle citiege a Silvan. Per concludere in bellezza Vann°, it 26 dicembre ci siamo ritrovati in 280 per la Bicchierata dei soci.

It comitato 6 sempre pronto ad ascoltare nuove proposte, specialmente per attirare i giovani: gia alts Festa Vicentina e al Picnic delle Patme i bambini hanno un posto di rilievo dal momento che ci sono sempre tanti giochi e divertimenti per i piO piccoli, dal castello alla ruota della fortuna, cialle pignatte al coniglio pasquale.

Carissimi amici del Veneto Club di Melbourne e della Comunita' Veneta del Victoria, con questo mio breve messaggio desidero far arrivare a tutti voi le mie piu' sincere congratulazioni per questo memorabile traguardo raggiunto dal Veneto Club di Melbourne: 50 anni di storia e di costanti attivita' a favore della nostra Reatta' Comunitaria costituiscono un vanto del quale tutti not dobbiamo andar fieri e che spesso mi trovo a sottolineare, anche nelle sedi istituzionali del settore, ai nostri fratetli veneti sparsi per il mondo per il tramite dei Toro rappresentanti.

All'interno del panorama comunitario locale ed ancor piu' rispetto a comparabili realta' associative net mondo, il Veneto Club di Melbourne si e' contraddistinto negli anni per una spiccata dinamicita' operative ed organizzativa avendo saputo evolversi a seconda dei momenti storici, delle richieste e delle necessita' dei propri associati e delle loro famiglie: oggigiorno il Veneto Club di Melbourne offre una struttura sociale, sportive e ristorativa di altissimo rilievo, pressoche' unica nel suo genere e con la peculiarita' "Regionale" che contraddistingue it nostro essere Comunita' Veneta air Estero.

Nella mia veste di Rappresentante comunitario tengo inoltre particolarmente a sottolinare le positive sinergie che, specialmente in questi ultimi mesi, si sono instaurate tra la nostra "seconda case", owero it Veneto Club di Melbourne e le -Associazioni Storiche", le quail con it tramite delta nostra Federazione delle Associazioni Venete del Victoria hanno potuto ufficialmente inaugurare di recente la proria sede in un loro spazio esclusivamente dedicato all'associazionismo ed alts Comunita'; ritengo sia stato ancor piu' significativo che queste rinnovate collaborazioni si siano concretizzate durante tali importanti circostanze raggiunte dal nostro Club in questo cosi' significativo anno 2017.

E' infine con estremo piacere e tanta soddisfazione che estendo inoltre a tutti voi le due comunicazioni che seguono, una a firma del Presidente della Regione Veneto - Luca Zaia e raltra a firma del Vicepresidente della Consulta dei Veneti net Mondo - Cay. Uff. Luciano Alban i quali, nelle loro rispettive vesti Istituzionali e con to spirito di vicinanza per it settore che G contraddistingue, trasmettono i propri saluti ells nostra Comunita' ed i migliori auguri per questo prestigioso traguardo raggiunto dal nostro Veneto Club di Melbourne.

Cosa vuol dire sentirsi un veneto nel mondo ancora legato alla propria terra natia?

Questo sentimento 6 ben raccontato della vostra stale lunge cinquantanni, fatta da cobra che hanno creduto e credono ancora nell'appartenenza alla cultura e all'identita del Veneto.

Un legame profondo che ha fatto del Veneto Ctub di Melbourne un baluardo dei nostri valori e della nostre tradizioni e della nostra lingua.

Siete dawero it nostro biglietto da visits, una rete di connessioni che fa del Veneto un network mondiale, una grande nazione di Veneti, gente franca, schietta ma con un grande cuore, che ha saputo portare, con l'ingegno e la creativity, it benessere nei paesi in cui i nostri emigranti hanno trovato una seconda casa e opportunity di crescita e di lavoro.

Cosi 6 avvenuto anche net territorio australiano, dove il successo della Comunite veneta arrivato a tutti i livelli della societe, dall'economia alla politica, grazie alla straordinaria voglia di fare e di creare - che i veneti hanno nel lora dna - senza temere it sacrificio e it duro lavoro. Siamo andati nei cinque continenti per sviluppare le Comunite che ci hanno accolto, con lo stesso cuore e la stessa generosity che abbiamo donato lora. Se si mettessero assieme tutte le opere realizzate dai veneti nel mondo si farebbe una citta grande come Citta del Messico.

Il Veneto 6, quindi, presente all'estero con le sue peculiarita e le sue eccellenze grazie a voi, pronti ad accogliere e a sostenere i giovani che ancora lasciano la nostra terra per nuove occasioni occupazionali, di formazione e scambi culturali.

E, infatti, forte it sentimento di unione e di condivisione, di aiuto che da sempre ha caratterizzato i rapporti della Comunita, come pure it grande rispetto delle regole di convivenza civile, che ha consentito di essere oggi dei punti di riferimenti stabili, dispensatori di conoscenze e di competenze, con le quali viene tenuta in alto la bandiera della nostra regione.

Sono davvero orgoglioso, sempre e comunque curiosio di conoscere le vostre realty, to vostre stone di vita, i vostri successi, perche da queste esperienze si traggono insegnamenti e riflessioni su come, con grande determinazione, tanti veneti hanno saputo far riconoscere e tutelare i propri diritti di cittadini.

Compliment, dunque, per questo memorabile traguardo, mezzo secolo cui ne seguiranno molti altri, mantenendo inalterato questo stretto e sentito rapporto con La vostra terra d'origine.

Cari amid del Veneto Club di Melbourne, a nome di tutta la Consulta dei Veneti nel Mondo invio sentiti auguri peril raggiungimento di questo storico traguardo. Cinquant'anni di vita costruita con tante stone di persone che hanno dedicato parte del toro tempo a mantenere vive le proprie radici culturali. La costruzione del vostro Centro viene descritta con stupore e meraviglia da tutti quelli che hanno avuto modo di visitarlo come un punto d'incontro e di cultura veneta unico al mondo. Solo le case delle associazioni venete di Toronto si avvicinano, per importanza, all'opera che voi avete saputo creare.

Questo vostro edificio storico sara un punto di riferimento anche per le prossime generazioni di Veneti net Mondo, che avranno testimonianza di quanto hanno saputo fare i toro padri, che si sono distinti nelte comunita [(Kali con proverbiale operosita, nel lavoro e nella vita sociale. La Regione Veneto dev'essere orgogliosa per la vivacity e to sviluppo che sono riusciti a raggiungere cottivando le profonde radici che i veneti hanno trapiantato in tutto it mondo. La torn serieta ed it tom impegno hanno permesso una giusta integrazione nella Comunita locale senza essere totalmente assimilati. Essere portatori di due culture e un valore aggiunto che pud essere un vantaggio anche rispetto agti stessi autoctoni. Si sono mantenuti i migliori valori dell'umanesimo Latino e si a dato un contributo notevole nelle vane comunita: nella moda, nelreditizia, nell'alimentazione e, semplicemente, nel modo di vivere. rete dei veneti all'estero, Auspichiamo che la Regione Veneto sappia valorizzare di eccettenza nei posizioni raggiungere saputo hanno che continenti, cinque nei sparsi rispettivi Paesi. Siamo convinti che sia giunto it tempo di superare gli apprezzamenti di circostanza, che ci arrivano dalle autorita regionati, per passare a una forma di riconoscimento e di collaborazione piu sostanziale. Pur avendo, nei diversi Paesi, peculiarity sociall ed economiche diverse, c'e un unico sentimento che ci tega alla nostra Regione d'origine e credo sia desiderio di tutti contribuire a tenere alto it suo buon nome, la prosperity ed it progresso.

Spero vivamente di poter partecipare ai festeggiamenti ufficiati che, da quanto mi e stato comunicato dovrebbero culminare con la celebrazione di Dicembre dell'anno in corso. Nella prossima Consulta, che avra tuogo a fine Luglio, cercheremo di promuovere un' iniziativa per rendere possibile la partecipazione di una detegazione ufficiale at vostro bellissimo traguardo.
