Presidents Report • We have worked on our master development plan and at present are waiting on advice from the City of Manningham. • The new constitution has been drafted with the input of some members and is currently going through final edits and legal review before submission to you. All of these have resulted in the club posting a healthy profit.

Dallila Sabbadini Veneto Club President The last year would not have been possible without the support of my family. They have been patient, supportive and tolerant of the time I have spent away from them and for this I thank them. This past year has been one of great achievement for the club. We have taken great strides in positioning the club for the future. We have been able to make the club more significant in today's market and re-establish the club as a leader in community and sport.

Finally, and importantly I would like to thank our General Manager, Joe Morello and his staff for their support and encouragement over the past 12 months. Also, personally, I would like to thank Joe for his hard work, his dedication and in my case his patience which is greatly appreciated.

We have had some great successes this year. We have seen an increase in revenue and patronage. We have made a club that is far more accessible and we are seeing more families here this year than over the past 4 years.

•

-

Once again the volunteers have been an integral and vital part of the club. Without them we would not have what we have today. I would personally like to thank each of them for their contribution and continued support. I would like to thank my committee who have worked tirelessly albeit sometimes behind the scenes. And of course none of what we have achieved would be possible without the support of you the members. You are the club's link between the past and the future and without you we would not be where we are today.

With all that we have achieved there are some things we haven't done. While there a good reansons for not meeting all our commitments, we have not forgotten what they are. One thing that I have learnt is that the club \and its committee must be able to respond to challenges and opportunities. The new synthetic pitch and upgraded soccer stadium is the result of our ability to seize such an opportunity. While I do apologise for not meeting all these commitments such as establishing the member's area, I do not apologise for the priorities set by the committee. As in the past, you the members have been asked to sacrifice something for the greater good of the club.

Specifically, we have: • Hosted "Arti per Via" from Bassano del Grappa • Applied for, received and spent a $300,000 grant from the state government which enabled us to install the synthetic pitch which has been completed • Seen the arrival of a magnificent gondola, which is still a work in progress.

While we have made great progress there are still many challenges. The changes to the governments gaming laws will have an impact, and will require us to manage our gaming and gaming strategy very carefully. The new legislation will demand an increase in management and oversight and will take significant input from the clubs manager and the committee. With the increased burden of managing what is a vital revenue stream for the club, the club will need the support of all its Associations. At this crucial time and with the support of the Veneto Club the Federazione Associazione Venete is asked to step up to the mark, to uphold their charter and their commitment to securing and promoting the Veneto culture and traditions.

The past 12 months have been challenging and immensely rewarding. I've been frustrated at times and ecstatic at others, but most of all I end the year with a sense of pride in what we have been able to achieve together.

Dallila Sabbadini President

ANNUAL REPORT - PAGE 12

patronized due to the Chef's creativity with food and regular change in menus. • Last year we were fortunate to receive a new gondola, kindly donated in memory of Pier-Giorgio Cappellotto. Further works are required to be done in order to fully enhance this wonderful symbol. In November, we also hosted a very creative group called "Arti per Via" from Bassano del Grappa. This group performed in various places in Australia and brought back so many memories to many members about the way of life and the jobs they left behind half a century ago. In conclusion, I would like to thank the increasing number of members who volunteer their time in assisting/performing the numerous tasks involved in running such a large Club.

Vice President This year has flown. We now have a full committee of nine members and for the first time in the Clubs' history a female President, Dallila Sabbadini. I welcome the change and believe we have achieved many new goals in the past year and look forward to steering the club with many more achievements in the future. • This past year has seen member numbers increase. • The Club's many sporting facilities are being patronized more frequently. • The Club's gaming and dining facilities are also well

•

I would also like to thank our General Manager, Joe Morello and all his staff for their tireless work in ensuring the Clubs' continued success. Furthermore, I would like to thank the Ladies Auxiliary for their enormous help around the Club. Lastly, I would like to sincerely thank all members and their friends for using and patronizing our Clubs' facilities. It is your patronage and enthusiasm that keeps our Committees' motivated and eager to do more.

Secretary's Report accounts, the new soccer structure and reporting lines and also the regrouping of the many sub-committees and associations, is unparallel and will certainly leverage the performance of the Veneto Club to provide a positive outlook. Rick Sciessere deserves recognition for his assistance and guidance in the area of regulatory requirements, operations and for his technical expertise in the progress of the Development Plan. Special thanks to Paul Sgarbossa, Celio Stocco and David Mason for their commitment and laborious efforts towards the maintenance of the Club's building and grounds and for their assistance with the many social functions and events. Paul, in particular has stepped up to any challenge thrown his way.

Amelia Grassi Secretary From the commencement of our term, the Committee's focus was to look inward and apply the necessary organizational structural changes and financial rigor as a platform for strong organic growth. Each member of the Committee has contributed by applying their own uniqueness, capability and expertise to the Veneto Club, providing its members with an emerging and sustainable Club and business. I would like to express heartfelt thanks to Dallila Sabbadini, President, who has relentlessly championed and overseen the development of the synthetic soccer turf project. Her commitment and determination to ensure the successful completion of the project, together with the financial re-integration of the soccer club into the Veneto Club

Thanks to Tino Campesato for his commitment to the revision of the Constitution to ensure the Veneto Club remains current and relevant and also for providing sound business advice. Thank you to Nadia Bearzatto, a quiet achiever who has been working in the background with the ladies auxiliary and providing steady and reliable support, particularly in the area of fund raising. Thanks also to Marino Tribuzio for his attendance and input at Board meetings. On behalf of the Committee, I would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the members and staff of the Veneto Club for their support and tolerance during a period of transformation and I feel confident that the momentum and growth gained to date will continue to prosper

The implementation of the synthetic soccer pitch was an arduous task, which was diligently worked through from funding requirements through to project management and construction. The government grant, which ultimately made the project a reality for our club, was appreciated. I would like to thank the Victorian Government for its assistance and support. An additional loan was approved and drawn for the completion of the soccer pitch. This loan was obtained at the current competitive interest rates and will be funded directly from the soccer department via player fees and levies.

Rick Sciessere Treasurer Dear Members, It is with pleasure that I tender my Treasurer's report for the current committee's tenure. During our elected period, we have experienced the most difficult and challenging financial times that have presented in the world since the great depression of the 1930s Superannuation funds have decreased in value by up to 50% in some cases and property values within the general vicinity of our club have decreased by 10 to 15%. As a result of these difficult times, household expenditure on entertainment has also decreased.

As part of our future planning and in relation to Gaming Machines, we need to finalise a strategy in relation to this matter. It has been suggested that the Gaming Machine industry will be deregulated by 2012. One significant issue relating to this is that rather than renting the machines or paying a percentage of takings to the owner, we would be required to purchase our own machines. The strategy required will need to identify whether the outlay necessary will be realistic for our club, whether we can in fact obtain the required finance and ultimately whether the return on investment will justify the outlay. The final situation is not yet known, however a firm strategy must be in place well in advance to the changeover date to ensure that we can act quickly, noting that revenue from gaming forms a key component to club revenue.

The club has been well prepared and managed during this difficult period, and I am pleased to report that we have in fact strengthened our financial position by a reduction in core debt since the commencement of our tenure. Although this has been a very promising result, I foresee more difficult times ahead both to do with the general economy and proposed legislative changes relating to Poker Machine ownership.

We have several key function rooms which remain under utilised at present. It is my opinion that the under utilisation of these rooms is mainly to do with decor and condition. A key strategy item should be to update these rooms, and modernise the decor and general appearance so that we can attempt to attract some more up market events, and particularly weddings. We would be using our existing property and adding value to it via renovations and updates, and ultimately drawing more and more people to our club.

The keys to ensuring the future success of our club, will largely depend on increased future revenue from existing and proposed new streams, whilst retaining value to our members. We are continually working on cost reduction ideas, however real growth and security will come from increased earnings.

In closing I would like to thank the committee. It has been a pleasure to work along side you this year with the common goal of bettering our club. I would also like to thank the members for your support and faith and I hope that you continue to enjoy the club.

In order to place ourselves strategically to take advantage of increased earnings possibilities, the committee has put several long term measures into place; including the construction of a synthetic soccer pitch, a strategy to enable us to purchase our poker machines should we be required to, and a strategy for property renovations to take advantage of the growing functions/events market.

I will not be seeking re-election at the coming annual general meeting due to increased personal and business commitments, however should the club require my assistance in the future I will be pleased to help, A presto,

Rick Sciessere Treasurer

systems in the function rooms and realigning and building new stainless steel benches to the kitchen upstairs at a cost of about $8 000. These things may seem peripheral however, they are vitally important to improve efficiency of our workforce and the professionalism of our functions offer. Recently, we have also begun to redecorate the function moms and entrance foyers, this was really overdue. The Sala Venezia is now looking much better as is the foyer. During the next year it would be great to complete these projects, the major thing to complete is the recarpeting of the main staircase.

Joe Morello General Manager There is never a dull moment at the Veneto Club, that's for sure, with another year completed it has certainly been very eventful and at the same time very enjoyable. Whilst my focus in the first three years was about regaining confidence of the members by making major improvements and changes, in the past year the focus has been about maintaining and growing the quality of our product. The Clubs bistro is still very popular, we are constantly booked out on the weekend and it's pleasing to see the bistro being frequented not only by the members but also the wider community. The Club is really thriving, in all areas form the bistro/gaming room downstairs to all the function moms and also the sporting facilities, all are doing better than last year. Sales in all departments grew on the previous year and it is finally showing on the bottom line with the Club posting a solid profit for the year. It's good to see all the hard work finally paying off. In the background we have been working hard on making further improvements to ensure we sustain the sales growth, things like installing air conditioning in the gymnasium at a cost of $44 000, installing proper sound

Over the past year the other major time consumer of mine has been lobbying government (in conjunction with peak industry bodies) about the proposed new gaming legislation that has been introduced and will take effect from 2012. This will by far be the most important issue for the club the next three years and beyond. Briefly, the government is removing the operator's licence from both TATTS & TABCORP and this will mean each venue will have to purchase and maintain their gaming machines. This will mean the venues will end up with a greater share of revenue; however, the costs will also be greatly increased. There are many issues to deal with regarding this new legislation that will also require a large amount of funding especially over the next three to four years. This will surely place a great deal of presswe on our cash flow, therefore, careful money management will be even more imperative in the future. In dosing, I would like to thank all members for your continued support fhr the Club. A very big thank you to all the volunteers at the Club, without you, we would not be able to survive. Thanks also to Dal lila and her Committee for their support and encouragement, and finally a very special thank you to all the staff of the Veneto club for their great efforts in making the club a prat place to work in.

Joe Morello General Manager

Veneto Club 2009 - Tennis

My early recollection of the Club was of an old tin shed at the back of the premises, we came as a family every Sunday to meet up with our friends. The Club has grown, and all members should be proud to be part of this Club which has developed into something that past Committee's would have never envisaged. We should remember past committee's who have contributed to the success of the Club and in their own way have shaped the club into what it is today. Tennis is a great game and our facilities here at the Veneto club are unsurpassed and this is reinforced by our membership. Our current tennis membership is as follows Family Members : 29 Single: 45 Life Members: 5 We do encourage members to use the courts socially and to invite guests for a game and also use the facilities that our great Club provides. It is important for members to remember this is our Club and therefore, the more we put in, the more we get out. We trust that members abide by the rules to ensure that every one gets a fair go. If any members has suggestions, comments or complaints, we encourage you to bring them up with a committee member so we can address the issues to the satisfaction and benefits of all members, The tennis section of the Veneto Club is reasonably active through out the year. The six courts always see plenty of action in the way of Coaching, Social games and Competition. The Veneto Tennis is represented by our Tuesday night competition which consists of two teams playing in Section 4 in the Open Division and four teams playing in the Veteran's Division in Sections 4, 6, 7 and 11. As the competition is approaching the end of the Autumn Season, there will be four teams competing in the Finals. To all our competitors the Spring Season 2009 commences on Tuesday 4th August. In our Spring season of 2008 all of our six teams made the Preliminary Finals of which only two teams finished in the Finals but unfortunately were unsuccessful.

Coaching at the Veneto Club with Vince Dauoli and one of his students

The Veneto Tennis had a Mixed team playing the Thursday night competition and were successful in winning the Finals, Congratulations to Jacqui Ciufetelli, Lisa Ciufetelli, Yolanda Ciufetelli , Iva Bettiol in the Women's and Congratulations to Daniel Cianci, Robert Cianci, Chris Horseley and Jason Knowalewski in the Men's. On behalf of the tennis committee we would like to thank Alma Zanatta for organising the Ladies Tuesday and Thursday Competition and also for keeping the tennis room in an immaculate condition at all times during the year. Alma's dedication and hard work cannot go unnoticed. The Tennis club would like to take this opportunity to thank the Veneto Club Committee for its continued encouragement and support throughout the year. For all the staff in the office, the Bar and Kitchen for their cooperation and assistance, and in particular, for the excellent suppers which is provided every Tuesday night. The Committee would also like to thank Tony Trovato who retired last year as President of the Veneto Tennis. He has been in the committee for a number of years and contributed a lot of time and exertion in the running of the Tennis Club. I would also like to express my gratitude to Paulo Bisiani in taking the incentive in organising a round robin of tennis playoffs to our members in the month of April which lasted for two Saturday afternoons. In concluding, I would like to thank the tennis members for its continued and highly valued collaboration in organising the maintenance of the courts especially to Mario Basso, Donato D'Augello, Lugi Martini, Graham Watt and John McInnes in repairing the Super Sopper Absorbent Roller. Veneto Club 2009 - Squash

Squash is alive and well at the Veneto Club, with the expansion to 4 teams in the current autumn season. At least two of the teams C-3 and D-3 section are proving to be formidable opponents as they are sitting on top of their grade, well clear and with an excellent opportunity of winning yet another, perhaps 2 pennant flags for the Veneto Club. We wish them well for the finals. New players in the other two teams are still doing well, however the competition is a little hard, but will do better with persistence in the future.

Participation of social squash players is also increasing, which is great to see. We would like to thank the Veneto Club Committee for providing such wonderful amenities and great continuing support. As the current autumn season is coming to a climax, we would welcome any new members for the coming spring carnival starting early August.

Management Theorist, Author of 31 books. So here we are again...This month marks the 25% point of the year Sorry - it's not an April fool's joke. The entire first quarter of 2009 has already passed- we are now three months into 2009. 90 days are gone forever. Are you on track with those New Years Resolutions? Are you on track with your goals? If you wanted to lose 12kgs this year - are you down 3kgs already? If your goal was to do 250 workouts - have you completed 62? It's amazing how time passes so quickly. If you need a "do-over" then I'm going to give you one. You can REDO your New Years Resolutions right now and get started all over again. That's right I'm letting you off the hook - but don't waste a single second.

Where will you be at the 50% point - July 1st? That's 13 weeks away. Will you be 13 weeks leaner - will your business demonstrate 13 weeks further growth - will you be 13 weeks closer to your goals? The time will pass anyway....

If your goal is fat loss - start today If your goal is muscle building - start today ff your goal is (insert anything here) - start TODAY! 25% of this year is gone forever Will you make changes TODAY or will another 25% pass, then another 25% -- and before you know it -- it's 2010 I meet a lot of people in my job, and get a lot of questions via email. I'll talk to guys who track every single macronutrient that passes their lips, and have tried just about every program out there. When I ask them how things are going -- they'll tell me that it's great, or that the program is working well. However very few people actually measure and take stock of their efforts. If you are following a plan to lose fat - are you actually losing fat? And I mean at a rate that is acceptable for your efforts? Or are you blindly following a plan that doesn't work, and essentially ignoring that? I know where my progress towards my goals stands because I measure it. As we enter the second quarter of 2009, it's time to take stock of your efforts. Has your current return been worth the investment? Again -- 25% of this year is gone forever Will you make changes TODAY or will another 25% pass, then another 25% -- and before you know it -- it's 2010

Don't waste a single second. Start TODAY.

Veneto Club 2009 - Junior Soccer Boys Report

Girls Report Football - It's a Girl Thing!!

Soccer is well under way at the Veneto Club. All our teams (over 700 registered players) have settled in and are performing very well on the new synthetic surface. Small sided football (Under 6 to Under 10's) seems to be a big hit once again. It is great seeing our future stars enjoying themselves and providing a great atmosphere around the Club during weekly training. Also, Saturday and Sunday mornings running around showing off their skills and then lining up for one of Gino's well prepared bacon and egg sandwiches, or sausages. The older age groups, both boys and girls from Under 11's to Under 18's are also doing great, and are all showing good competitive skills and playing entertaining football. I look forward to seeing our junior lions utilizing their Family Pass to support our senior lions each home game. There is a great bistro available for pre and post match refreshments. You never know, you could get the opportunity to have a drink with our senior team. The new synthetic surface looks and plays fantastic. A huge 'Thank You' to all who have been involved in making this dream come true.

Joe Midolo Football Operations Manager - Juniors

Women's Football has arrived at FC Bulleen Lions with the entry of a Senior Women's Team into the State League 3 (NW) Division. Women/Girl's Football is experiencing enormous growth in Australia and FC Bulleen Lions has embraced the opportunity to establish and grow a Women's Football Department. In addition to the Senior Women's Team, the Club also has four junior girl's teams in the age groups of Under 12, 13, 14 and 16. The long term future is also assured with many girls already participating in the Small Sided Football (formerly known as "Goal Kick"), which is made up of children aged between five and ten years of age. It is the Club's "goal" to have a Senior Team in the Women's Premier League within five years and to have a Girl's Team represent FC Bulleen Lions in every Junior League Age Group from the Under 1 is through to the Under 18s. In order to achieve the goal, what is needed is for the FC Bulleen Lions and Veneto Club community to get behind the girls teams through player participation, sponsorship, committee volunteers, coaches, team managers and general administrative support. If you are interested in supporting Girls' Football then please contact David Del Monaco on 040 991 6798 or davedel@live.com.au.

Veneto Club 2009 - Senior Soccer F.C. Bulleen Lions Season for 2009 started in mid-January and with that came the announcement of the appointment of Alfredo Costantino as Senior Coach and Serge Sabbadini as Technical Director of Coaching.

This FC Bulleen Lions squad for season 2009 under the coaching guidance of Alfredo Costantino no doubt will aim for promotion back into the Victorian Premier League (V.P.L.) in 2010.

With a balance of seasoned players such as Damien Guglielmi (Captain) Dean Tartaglia and Michael Mazzini and the younger brigade namely, Luke Cardamone, Anthony Ramzy, Laurence Gogorossis, Martin Mason and the remainder of the senior squad such as John Cvetkovski, Matthew Leckie - (our top goal scorer to date) and Matthew Dimech, John Crivelli, George Potter are all pivotal to our ultimate goal — PROMOTION.

In 2006 the dream of having a synthetic pitch at the Veneto Club started to have some momentum and finally in January this year the dream had taken place.

With players of this quality Alfredo has a great squad to work with. With 5 rounds into the season we are currently on 4 wins — 1 loss with 2 games in hand (being home games not yet played owing to the synthetic turf being layed on the main ground). These two catch-up games will be played —

As we all know our first home game was played on our new synthetic pitch Monday 11th May 2009. Many thanks must go to the Veneto Club Board for a job well done. With the support and backing of all our burgundy & gold lions I'm sure our seniors will do us proud in 2009.

Grazie a tutti voi

Sembra che it Signore ci vuole bene, perche

Finisco augurando a tutti ogni bene.

Voglio inoltre ricordare che it nostro programma per it 2009 continua come previsto.

Domenica 15 marzo era in programma it picnic annua-le.
