PRESIDENT'S REPORT

We must now continue to maintain and build on our standards and concentrate on what needs to be done.

• Continued review and update of the Club Constitution It is with pleasure that I report on an eventful year at the Veneto Club. Our refurbished bistro and gaming area has been fully operational for over a year now, and although there have been some glitches along the way; the move has proved to be highly successful.

Acceptance of change has been better than anticipated and the resulting positive air around the club has been great for all members and staff. It is an absolute pleasure to see so many new faces including young people, families, children, and members who had departed and are now returning. The community in general is discovering the Club and, together with our members, they are using our facilities and experiencing our traditional and modern Italian cuisine. Another benefit is that the increased activity is generating new and additional functions.

We have an excellent team headed by Joe Morello. Thank you to all staff for their commitment to what we set out to achieve. After several years we are in a position to produce positive results and this is after paying a substantial amount of interest on borrowings. Adding to this, our gaming income has increased by an average of 55% and is steadily increasing.

As always we have many volunteers assisting us. We must never forget our tireless Ladies Auxiliary and the Maintenance Group, always working in the background and offering help.

Our Associations as usual provide their support via the functions they hold and the upkeep of our Veneto tradition.

Promoting Club memberships • Promotion of our sporting and recreation facilities • Focus on youth and the younger generation • Future plans and refurbishment • A gaming plan to address the recent State Government decision on poker machine ownership We need to continue in our endeavour of reinstating the Club back to its former status. Indeed, we want to make use of our excellent location and promote ourselves community wide. I know members have been very supportive through this period of change and for this I thank you.

On the sporting front there has been much activity. Soccer is growing and we are pleased to welcome Michael Catalano and the Essendon Royals senior team to the Club. They have agreed, together with our FC Bulleen juniors to form the Veneto Club's "Bulleen Royals". Apart from our new senior team we again have in excess of 700 juniors playing who now have a path through to senior soccer. Although the newly formed Soccer Sub Committee still has some fine tuning to do to their structure, they have been very proactive in their approach and much has been achieved.

Bocce is strong and popular and has been generous with their financial support. The gymnasium is thriving and we need to encourage and work with tennis and squash.

Our popular events continued, including the Club Anniversary, the Christmas Picnic, the Sagra di San Marco and the enormously popular "Una Notte Sotto Le Stelle" with a fabulous fireworks display.

From a committee point of view it has not been easy. With six committee people and without a Secretary and Treasurer it is difficult to cover all that is required during this period of transition. I encourage all members to actively seek and nominate appropriate candidates for positions on the Board.

Congratulations and thank you to you all. And special congratulations to Joe Morello who, after winning the "Community Club Manager for 2006" award has followed up with the "Tatts Club Manager for 2007" award this year.

In closing I thank my Committee for their time and effort. I thank members for their past and ongoing support. I believe that together we can keep our Club very much alive and progressing.

FIRST VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT

It is pleasing to see new faces around which means the word is spreading at the renewed success of our club.

Adding to this success is the introduction of our "Bulleen Royals" in first division soccer. We wish the team well and are sure they will do the Club proud on the soccer pitch.

At this point, I firstly wish to thank you, our members, who enjoy our wonderful facilities and trust in your continued support.

I would also like to publicly thank Joe Morello and all his staff for their tireless effort in elevating the Club's status.

We are encouraged and pleased at the increased success the club is enjoying at all levels. It is always gratifying to see the tough initiatives and decisions taken some years ago are now bearing fruit and seem to be growing stronger and stronger.

More people are now patronising the Club especially the gaming and bistro.

Furthermore, I would also like to thank the Ladies Auxiliary for their constant contribution above and beyond the call of duty.

Finally, I would like to thank my fellow Committee members who share the one vision for our Club to succeed. I look forward to my continued involvement in this great club.

SECOND VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT Since my re-appointment as Vice President of the Veneto Club opportunities continue to present themselves to enhance our Club.

Our new and improved Bistro with its fabulous new menu has many new faces experiencing its fine dining. The hustle and bustle and sometimes 'organized chaos' in the Bistro makes me proud and excited to have been part of its revamp.

The Veneto Club has joined forces with the Essendon Royals Football Club to form the Bulleen Royals Football Club thereby re-introducing senior soccer to the Veneto Club.

This partnership gives the Veneto Club the possibility to provide its 700+ juniors the opportunity to have a senior team to aspire to as well as provide senior players as role models and mentors.

I am confident that the formation of the Bulleen Royals Football Club will provide every one of our junior players from u6's to u21s with a pathway to strive for success.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome on board Michael Catalano, President of the Essendon Royals Football Club. His experience and passion for the world game combined with the amenities the Veneto Club provides will make Bulleen Royals Football Club a force to be reckoned with.

In conjunction with our newly formed Bulleen Royals Football Club we have refurbished Club 75, now to be called "The Lions Den" This will provide a vantage point from which Bulleen Royals Football Club members and sponsors can watch junior and senior games.

In conclusion I would like to say that none of these developments could have been achieved without the unflagging help of our tireless volunteers, sub-committees and parents of our juniors.

In particular I would like to extend thanks to my fellow Board members for their contribution throughout the year.

A huge thank you to our General Manager and his gorgeous enthusiastic hardworking staff both front of house and those behind the scenes, for their contribution and effort over the last 12 months.

Finally I encourage you all to continue to support the Veneto Club by renewing your membership and by continuing your patronage and involvement. Together we can re-ignite the passion, restore the status and reputation of our Club as was intended by our founding fathers.

GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT Speaking of the Sunday family buffet, we decided to change the format last year to a buffet and it has been very popular with all members whilst not being affected by the new bistro.

As I mentioned earlier we must now begin planning for the future of the club and some of the plans can be put into either short or long term goals. In the short term some of the projects I would like to achieve are; •

Purchase of another large oven and rearranging the cooking suite for the kitchen upstairs to assist the chefs to cope with ever increasing function trade • Re-decorating of the foyers on all three levels including the painting and re-carpeting of the spiral staircase.

• Appointment of a sports coordinator to assist with marketing and combining the synergies of all sports especially soccer now that we have a senior team and one of the largest and best soccer facilities in Victoria • Air conditioning of the gymnasium

General Manager When I started at the Veneto Club 3 years ago, I couldn't imagine such a wonderful transformation of the club as the one that we have achieved. I can honestly say it has been worth the money spent and effort of the past two years to get the job done.

The new bistro and gaming lounge has been steadily getting busier and busier since we opened in about May last year. It took a little time to get things working the way they should, it also took time to get the service standard right, but I believe we now have a first class facility here that is giving our competition a run for their money. The compliments about our food quality and our service standards are getting us a reputation to be proud of. Yes the club is thriving once again, it's pleasing to see, however we must not rest on our laurels we must begin to plan to ensure we sustain the future of the club. The amazing turn around of the club has affected all areas, so much so that it is difficult to book a function now as we are so heavily booked in all rooms. People want to be associated with our club now in all ways from customers to suppliers and staff.

For the longer term; • The Sala Venezia must to be renovated • Improved car park lighting • Improved members lounge facilities The past year has seen the club achieve a lot, and a very rewarding year could not have been achieved without the help of many people. Firstly I would like to thank the very hard working staff at the Veneto Club, every single one of them, it's been a marvellous effort. Thank you. The volunteers, what can I say, I'm not going to mention any names there are so many of them wether you help for half an hour a week or 20 hours a week it is all very much appreciated. Thanks also to the President and the Board of the Veneto Club for their continued support. And finally I would like to thank my wife Rose and my children for their support who rarely complain about the hours and hours on end I spend at work.

The changes have also bought many new faces the club, people that used to come here many years ago and also people that have never been here before, these people are now frequenting the club on a regular basis. Although we have focussed a lot on the new, it is also very important not to forget the past, and it's good to see some of the traditions of the Veneto Club continuing, things like the; • Sagra di San Marco ( which was held on the 27th of April and always very popular) • Una Notte Sotto Le Stelle (once again a huge success last year) • The annual Club Xmas Picnic (held at the Baraca) • The Foundation members dinner ( recognising the clubs founders) • Our Sunday night Family Buffet

FINANCE REPORT The past year has been probably the most challenging year financially for the club since it was established. It started off with the final draw down on the $2 million loan for the renovations. At the same time our overdraft facility was also being stretched to the limit.

The reason for this was that upon completion of the renovations we were subjected to additional start up costs as follows:• food cost of goods sold • extra staff wages • marketing costs for the opening • extra non consumable products such as pots, pans & plates etc....

Whilst the $2 Million loan was also the initial proposed cost of the renovation, the fact was that it was not quite enough. An extra $50,000 was required to install a new Beer Reticulation system throughout the entire club and some minor expenditure to complete the function rooms was also required.

During the year the committee took the advice of our bankers and fixed the interest rate on a major portion of the loan. This decision has proved to be a good one as we all know that interest rates have gone up in the last 12 months. We have in fact not been too badly affected by the last 2 interest rate rises.

On a positive note, sales in all areas have increased over and above our expectations, the table below demonstrates the change compared to last year.

Another major expense during the year that the club has had to incur was the interest on the loan. The interest paid for the year was $168,684.

After interest paid and all the major extra expenses the club has still realised a small profit. This is the first time in 8 years the Veneto Club has produced a positive return (at time of print).

The concentration now will be to build on what we have achieved.

President, Frank Rossato, Joe Morello CEO, committee members, staff and club members have been helpful in every way.

The one thing that I love the most and which I have only found at the Veneto Club is that everyone has so much respect for our Manager, Mr. Morello. This makes for great team spirit, and it also makes it a pleasure to come to work every day.

I have never worked in an establishment where there are so many and varied activites, and I have learned so much in the short time I have been here.

VENETO CLUB BOCCE Mentre la stagione bocciofila 2007-2008 si sta avviando verso la fine, possiamo dire che é stato un'anno molto positivo sotto tutti i punti di vista. Abbiamo mantenuto tutti i nostri impegni con i clubs con cui abbiamo un reciproco scambio di visite annuali.

In particolare ringraziamo: Bruno e Pierina Grollo, Stephen Papal Advance Stone, John Peruzzo Gasco Pty Ltd, Provinciale Funerals, II Veneto Club, Bellview Hosiery, Coffee Mio, Gervasi Food Works, Piedimonte Supermarket e il Veneto Club Ladies Auxiliary.

Il 10 e it 11 Novembre 2007 due quadrette miste del Veneto Club si sono recate a Cooma in NSW, per partecipare nella Cooma Cup dove abbiamo ottenuto it primo e terzo posto.

Il 9 Dicembre 2007 siamo stati ospiti del "Italian Australian Club di Tatura", per l'annuale competizione d'amicizia. Anche qui il Veneto Club ha superato nella finale.

Nei giorni 8 e 9 Marzo 2008 abbiamo ospitato il Marconi Club di Sydney con oltre 40 giocatori. Anche qui, nonostante sia stato per un solo punto, il Veneto Club ha vinto la finale.

Molte sono state le vittorie dei nostri giocatori durante l'anno.

Ma quella che ricordiamo piu' volentieri e' quella del 20 Maggio 2007 dove al Calabria Club, abbiamo vinto per il quarto anno consecutivo it Campionato del Victoria per Clubs.

Fra le competizioni piu' popolari svolte al Veneto Club durante l'anno ricordiamo: •

La Royal Children's Hospital Cup, organizzata come al solito, con tanta dedicazione, da Mario Angeloni e la sua famiglia. E' stato un grande successo, oltre 120 giocatori hanno partecipato e 1'intero ricavato di $4,500 e' andato al Royal Children's Hospital.

La nostra "Friendly Competition" continua ogni mercoledi sera con successo, con la partecipazione di circa una sessantina di persone. Colgo l'occasione di estendere un invito a chiunque sia interessato a giocare le bocce. Siete tutti benvenuti.

Il nostro gruppo "Pensionati" continua ad incontarsi ogni giovedi per le loro partite, in strata amicizia.

VENETO CLUB GOLF Our Golf Club is now in its 4th year of intra club competition and travelling very well.

Participation in the monthly games remains steady and all our golfers continue to exude a fine balance between fun, enthusiasm and competitiveness.

Current membership stands at 50 (45 gentlemen and 5 ladies).

Membership statistics for the previous three years were as follows: 2005: 44 members ( 39 males and 5 ladies) 2006: 43 members ( 38 males and 5 ladies) 2007: 39 members ( 34 males and 5 ladies) New members are always very welcome.

In particular we invite and seek an increase in our ladies membership. So we encourage all ladies that have an interest in golf to come along and join our current group of lady golfers ...whether you are an experienced low handicapper or an enthusiastic beginner our club has something to offer.

2007 Veneto Club Golf Championship The 2007 Veneto Club Golf Championship was contested and decided on the aggregate results of the 10 annual games played monthly between February and November 2007.

The Club Championship results were announced at the Presentation Dinner held at the Veneto Club on Friday 16th November 2007.

Unlike 2006 where the Championship was already decided after the September game and with two games still to be played the 2007 winner was decided on the result of the final November game and could have been won by any one of 6 players.

The annual long weekend Golfers trip which this year was enjoyed at the magnificent golf courses at Yarrawonga.

Congratulations to Adrian Menara, winner of the 2007 Veneto Club Golf Championship and to 1st & 2nd runner-ups Marino Rech and Luigi Martini respectively.

Both by observation and by all reports the ten games played have all been a great success each with the right mix of competitiveness, fun and social interaction between our golf members.

In the not too distant future consideration will need to be given for Veneto Club Golf to take the next step forward and join an accredited and nationally recognized handicapping program.

VENETO CLUB TENNIS Veneto Club Tennis The Veneto Tennis Club has been very quiet over the past twelve months. This has mainly been due to the current water restrictions that limit the watering of tennis courts, and the falling numbers in membership. Under the current water restrictions we can only water one court for every two courts available. This effectively means we can only rely on 3 courts.

This therefore limits the number of teams we can enter into the Tuesday Night Men's Competition.

Juniors Report It is with great displeasure that I report that there are no junior teams playing for the Veneto Club this season. It is a sad day for the Club when we can no longer attract junior members to join. We sincerely hope that 2008/09 will bring a new influx of young people interested to join the Veneto Tennis.

We look forward to holding the event this year and it will allow the members to socialize whilst playing competitive tennis, and enjoy a few drinks and a barbeque on the final night. So please put your name down as soon as the entry list is made available.

Annual General Meeting This year's A.G.M. will be held on Monday 7 July at 8pm.

Once again I implore all members to come along and discuss the current status and the future direction of the Tennis Club.

It is quite obvious that our membership is dropping very significantly every year, and we must endeavor to address this problem and reverse the trend.

We desperately need more people to come on to the Tennis Committee with fresh ideas. I will be stepping down this year, so we need someone to take over my role.

Finally, I would like to thank the two other members of the Tennis Committee, Alma Zannata and Romeo Crema for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

Ladies Tennis Report In the Spring season of 2007 we had 1 ladies team in Tuesday's H.D.T.A. competition. They played in Section 4 and made the finals, but unfortunately were beaten in the semi-final. Better luck this season.

We also had one team in the Thursday Summer competition.

They ended up 4th on the ladder but due to the water restrictions the final was decided by a "knock out" match between 1st and 2nd only. Let's hope they do better this season.

Thanks once again to Alma Zanatta for organizing the ladies' day tennis and for looking after the tennis room so well.

Men's Tuesday Night Competition In the Spring season of 2007 we had 6 teams based at the Veneto Club and a 7th team that was able to hire courts at the Deepdene Tennis Club. Unfortunately only 2 teams made the finals, Vet.6 (Veneto team 2) and Section 4 (Veneto team 1).

Section 4 won the semi final and played West Lalor in the grand final. This match turned out to be a real nail biter with both sides being equal on games and sets after 6 sets. They therefore had to play a tie-breaker which unfortunately we lost 7-4. A gallant effort boys.

"Belli and Brutti" Competition Due to the water restrictions, the Tuesday Night Men's Competition did not commence until the 14th August which meant that the final was played on 4th December and therefore there were not enough weeks left before Christmas to stage the traditional "Belli and Brutti" Competition. This was very disappointing as many of the players look forward to these great fun filled events.

FC BULLEEN LIONS

The 2007 Season from the outset was destined to be challenging. The persisting drought conditions kept us off pitches throughout summer as we searched for a patch of grass for teams to train on. It was unclear when the season would start, and, if it would go ahead at all. Fortunately, luck prevailed and we were given the green light by Football Federation Victoria; football was to be played in Season 2007.

I am pleased to say, that despite these obstacles, 2007 was a highly successful year for FC Bulleen Lions.

We achieved record player numbers with 750 registered players, up 36% on the previous 2006 season.

This included: - 2 Goalkick programs providing 320 places over the two programs, with 204 individual participants (some did both programs).

- 195 players in our 14 Rooball (U8 to U10) teams.

- 351 players in our 22 Junior teams, including 3 Girls' teams.

- A further 100 participants enjoyed the July School Holiday clinic.

Of the 22 Junior teams, seven won their Championship, and we had two Runners Up, with a further four teams in third position.

This is a wonderful achievement, and I thank the dedication and effort of players in achieving these outstanding performances in season 2007.

I commend the Team Managers and Coaches who assisted to make 2007 a highly successful playing season whether in true competition, or modified participation in Rooball and Goalkick. Without the dedication of our volunteers, FC Bulleen Lions would not be able to operate. Thank you for investing your time in our children.

Finally I would like to thank the FC Bulleen Lions Committee for their hard work during season 2007: Pat Saladino (Treasurer), Joe Midolo (Secretary), Victor Pace (Coaching Director), Mary Facci (Registrar) and Maria Caspani (Apparel). Many hours are spent planning and organising, in order to ensure FC Bulleen Lions runs smoothly.

Now, as we look towards the year ahead. It is with great pleasure I look forward to the 2008 season. Negotiations during 2007 mean we will field the Bulleen Royals Senior and Reserves team, after agreement between the Veneto Club, Essendon Royals and FC Bulleen Lions. This means we will continue to provide our talented young players a pathway to competition beyond junior level football. I thank Rino Tessarotto for his contribution in these negotiations. We have always considered it important to provide our players the opportunity to continue their future in a senior body at our club, and this will again be possible in 2008.

VENETO CLUB SQIJASH Squash at the Veneto Club continues to be very successful and positive due to a group of dedicated and enthusiastic players.

However, the pennant seems to elude us. Teams are very competitive and finish well towards the finals.

Due to work commitments and injuries we never quite seem to make it, but, the journey is always eventful and enjoyable.

Last seasons Spring Carnival Awards, given for the best and fairest players, were won by Richard Smaldino in C-3 Grade, and Paul De Lutis D-1 Grade. Congratulations and best wishes to both of these boys on a terrific effort.

Autumn Pennant 2008 is well under way at present. Opposition is always hard at first, but we usually finish well. As for the Pennant this season well we will see. Best of luck!

Malgrado ogni anno ci sono quelli che ci lasciano, abbiamo in nuovi soci una linfa che mantiene bene in vita la nostra Associazione.

ASSOCIAZIONE PADOVANI NEL MONDO Ogni mese si organizza un'attivita' per poter passare assieme un po di ore in allegra compagnia e tenere sempre vivi I nostri bei ricordi e usanze. Siamo molto contenti e grati del support° e incorraggiamento dei nostri leali soci e amici e li ringraziamo di cuore. Un ringraziamento pure ai soci del Comitato che danno tante ore del loro tempo per it successo di queste attivita' e alle loro famiglie che li supportano.

PABOVAIN NIL IIIMIDA

Dall'ultima pubblicazione, siamo lieti di dare it seguente rapporto dell'Associazione Padovani nel Mondo.

Abbiamo incominciato con la nostra tradizionale Festa di San Antonio con un buon pranzo al Veneto Club, Domenica 17 Giugno. A Luglio, dopo it pranzo gratuito per I nostri soci, ha seguito l'Assemblea Annuale, dove e' stato rieletto lo stesso comitato. Si siamo incontrati assieme alle altre Associazioni al Veneto Club in occasione della Festa di Ferragosto e poi siamo andati in gita a Mount Dandenong a Settembre. Come it solito, in Ottobre abbiamo avuto it nostro pic-nic gratuito per soci al San Carlo Nursing Home di South Morang, e in questa occasione ci siamo impegnati di comperare un letto per it nuovo ospedale che stanno costruendo.

Il week-end di Melbourne Cup siamo andati in gita in Tasmania per cinque giorni. A fine d'anno it nostro pic-nic alla "Baracca" con Babbo Natale ha visto un bel numero di soci e amici, inclusi anche tanti giovani e I loro bambini.

Quest'anno si ha incominciato con it pic-nic alla "Baracca" a Febbraio e poi abbiamo organizzato un pranzo a Marzo per sponsorizzare una giovane Padovana, campionessa di Karate, nel suo tentativo di andare a Nuova Zelanda per competere.

Day trip to Dandenong

Invitiamo soci e amici ai nostri prossimi incontri che sono: Il 25 Maggio un pranzo al Holy Spirit Hall, Domenica 15 Giugno pranzo al Veneto Club per la Festa di San Antonio e 20 Luglio Assemblea Generale al Holy Spirit Hall. Stiamo pure preparandoci per it nono Raduno dei Padovani nel Mondo che quest'anno sara' a Sydney dal 3-7 Ottobre.

ASSOCIAZIONE TREVISANI NEL MONDO INC. Qualche buona notizia anche dai soci e simpatizzanti "della Marca Gioiosa", come e' chiamata la Provincia di Treviso.

Abbiamo concluso un anno di attivita' ben riuscite, non solo in Australia, ma anche in Cina, in Danimarca e poi nella bellissima e piena di attrattive, Sicilia.

Come al solito le nostre feste hanno tutte avuto un numero di soci e amici che con la loro presenza non solo sostengono 1'Associazione, ma danno tanta soddisfazione a chi si da' da fare per organizzarle. Naturalmente anche quest'anno abbiamo inviato denaro alle Missioni Salesiane in Etiopia, alla Casa per anziani San Carlo e abbiamo sostenuto generosamente le vane richieste di denaro che ci pervengono.

Quest'anno per il picnic il Signore ci ha riservato una giornata ideate: ne' caldo, come l'anno scorso; ne' umido e triste come qualche anno fa. Nonostante le tante restrizioni imposte dal Comune sull'uso del terreno alla "Baracca" chi ha partecipato si e' divertito e ha mangiato proprio bene, grazie ai tanti cuochi e alle brave signore del Direttivo che servivano.

II prossimo incontro avra' luogo al Veneto Club per la Sagra San Marco. A meta' maggio la castagnata al Freccia Azzurra Club.

Alla fine di giugno andremo a Werribee per un buon pranzo con quelli della "campagna". II primo fine settimana di agosto parteciperemo alla scampagnata a Myrtleford. Domenica 24 agosto festeggeremo it Patrono di Treviso, San Pio X con messa all'Assisi Centre e poi un buon pranzo nella sala Venezia del Veneto Club. Dal 10 al 13 ottobre quasi un centinaio di Trevisani parteciperanno all'ottavo Congresso nazionale A.T.M. a Wollongong e poi continueranno per visitare Sydney con una escursione in barca nella Baia e faranno ritomo lungo la costa con una fermata di tre giomi a Merimbula. Anche quest'anno concluderemo le attivita' con una cena speciale al Veneto Club sabato 15 novembre.

Nel 2007 tutte le nostre feste ebbero un gran successo ma piu' di tutte la castagnata al Freccia Azzurra Club. Il pranzo che il club ci ha preparato non era per niente inferiore a quello preparato

Una fine ricordo nella inunensa plaZZa tristemente famosa anche per I huh di szingile di alcuni anni fa. II gruppo posa in Tian'anmen Square, net centro di Bejing.

dai migliori cuochi. Abbondanza di cibo, grande varieta' di cibo, ottimo servizio e alla fine le castagne ben annaffiate col "yin brute — che tutti hanno avuto in buona quantita'.

Nel 2007 oltre alle solite feste 46 Trevisani hanno fatto una magnifica esperienza di otto giomi in Cina visitando Ic citta' di Bejing, Xi'an e Shanghai. Fu un'avventura che ci ha aperto un po' di piu' gli occhi su questa enorme nazione. Una volta poi in Italia quasi tutte le stesse persone hanno trascorso otto bellissimi giomi in Sicilia. Quest' isola, a parte certi lati neri in mano a pochissimi, e' una delle piu' belle e piu' ricche di monumenti delle nostre isole. Abbiamo goduto una mattinata da fiaba sulla cima del Vulcano Etna, ove solo una settimana prima le fuoriuscite di lava erano salite a oltre 100 metri di altezza.

Tutto sommato la nostra Associazione continua con entusiasmo e sempre ben guidata da un Direttivo pieno di esperienza anche se, per alcuni, si fa sentire la stanchezza. Per questo motivo fin d'ora invitiamo qualche socio a fare parte del Direttivo it prossimo anno, quando alcuni della vecchia guardia si dimetteranno o per l'eta' o per salute o perche' ne hanno abbastanza di organizzazione. Non vorremmo che I'Associazione abbia a soffrire per mancanza di continuita'. A tutti I soci chiediamo di fare un pensierino e quando al prossimo raduno generale voteremo per il nuovo Direttivo speriamo che ci sia piu' di uno disposto a prendere it posto di chi si ritira. Si sa che perche' le core vadano bene ci vuole un buon timone e not l'abbiamo net nostro Presidente, Andrea Bettio, che ben coadiuvato dagli undici fedelissimi che lavorano compatti e uniti sta guidando la nostra Associazione verso sempre migliori traguardi.

Concludendo dobbiamo ringraziare il Veneto Club che ospita la maggior parte delle nostre feste e soprattutto tutti I membri del Direttivo e le signore che generosamente danno una mano quando sono richieste.

ASSOCIAZIONE VERONESI NEL MON DO Carissimi soci, come ogni anno assieme al comitato ci uniamo alle vostre famiglie per augurarvi un buon anno 2008 ed a quelle persone che durante l'arino ci aiutano, un grazie a tutti voi soci ed amici. Un pensiero vada rivolto a coloro che nell' impossibilita' di malattie o disagi non possono far parte, a tutti i migliori auguri e a quelle famiglie che durante l'anno hanno perso i propri cari.

Le manifestazioni svoltesi durante l'anno 2007 sono state molto soddisfacenti avendo avuto sempre un buon risultato it che fa si di continuare. Abbiamo iniziato con Pasquetta che e' stato un sucesso, con gnocchi cucinati freschi dal nostro comitato poi panini di ogni tipo uova per i grandi e piccini, seguiva la festa di S.Marco assieme a tutti i Club Veneti, e poi la Giornata Culturale e, come sempre, l'Associazine Veronesi di Melbourne ha partecipato alla festa della Repubblica Italiana, e come finale it picnic di S.Lucia.

COMUNITA' MONTANA DEI 7 COMUNI Questo e' un resoconto dell'anno 2007-2008, ricordando le belle feste e gite passate in buona compagnia. Ringrazio tutti coloro che hanno partecipato e cercano di mantenersi attivi.

Domenica 24 Giugno 2007 al'Assemblea generale circa 180 soci sono stati presenti per la nomina del nuovo Comitato. A questa Assemblea e' stato proposto e acconsentito it progetto di pubblicare un libro " Per non dimenticare", e di questo siamo molto orgogliosi.

Domenica 5 agosto nella sala della chiesa di Holy Spirit a Thornbury, Pane,Sopressa eVin Brule', questo pomeriggio in allegria e' sempre molto popolare.

Domenica 18 Novembre pranzo annuale, e questa e' stata una buona occasione per dare a Mirella Rebeschini un guadagnato ringraziamento e la presentazione di un ricordo per avere contribuito per molti anni nel comitato direttivo; da tutti auguri sinceri.

Nel febbraio 2008 la gita a Harrietvi Ile era stata cancellata, ma per un po di allegria, arrivo' un gruppo di paesani e Alpini da Foza. Abbiamo cosi festeggiato con cena, gite, bbq e feste per circa 2 settimane, assieme a soci, parenti, paesani e it gruppo di Alpini di Melbourne. Mangiare, here e cantare era it migliore modo per divertirsi.

Al 2 marzo Picnic Annuale it tempo favorevole per questa festa e per gustarsi i nostri piatti tradizionali. Grazie al comitato, che, sempre con molta buona volonta', riesce a mettere assieme per una buona compagnia.

La Comunita' Montana ringrazia it direttivo del Veneto Club per l'ospitalita' e cordiale assistenza.

LADIES AUXILIARY REPORT Dear Members, This year the Ladies Auxiliary have been deprived of a very important person to us - Emma Agnoletti, passed away last November at the age of 83.

From the vibrant, early days until she was taken ill last July, Emma had worked tirelessly for the Veneto Club. Her participation in the Ladies Auxiliary Committee, and the dedication with which she participated in all Club activities was unfailing.

The Veneto Club and in particular, the Ladies Auxiliary was as much a part of her life as her family and her beloved cat, 'Signorina Agnoletti'. Emma, thanks for your many years of service to us — you are and will be greatly missed.

At this point I would also like to thank all the other ladies who have volunteered their services to help us keep the Club a strong presence in our community, also the members and their friends on whom we can depend to loyally support us by attending and contributing to our activities and fundraisers.

Auguri a voi, e alle vostre care famiglie salute e benessere da noi tutti del nostro comitato. Voglio ringraziare personalmente tutti coloro che vengono sempre ai nostri pranzi mensili., perche sono questi membri, che con la lora presenza ogni mese rendono possible mandare avanti it nostro circolo dei pensionati. II tempo passa per tutti, e tante cose cambiano.

Dobbiamo adeguarsi a questo e a tutto it resto che verra in futuro. Non pensiamo al passato, ma bensi al presente, e cerchiamo di continuare nel modo migliore per passare iI resto della nostra vita assieme ai nostri famigliari e amici.

Divertendosi e sperando sempre che la nostra salute c'e' lo permetta, e se durante I nostri pranzi mensili, facciamo qualche ballo, e sentiamo le nostre povere ossa schricchiolare, dimentichiamo tutto, e facciamo a gara, a far vedere che siamo ancora in gamba anche se poi alla sera non possiamo muoversi piu. (Questa allora e un'altra storia). Percio, venite ai nostri pranzi, c'e sempre qualche novita da raccontare ai vostri amici. II mangier e' buono, il menu' e sempre diverso, e noi del Comitato cerchiamo di fare il nostro meglio affinche' tutto prosegua bene.
