RELAZIONE ANNUALE 1994/ '95

Dal Presidente del Club Cari Soci, la relazione di questo mio quinto anno di presidenza vede it nostro Club in una situazione di grande progresso. Sia nel campo sociale e sia nel campo finanziario abbiamo ottenuto tutto quanto potevamo sperare.

L'imponente nuova costruzione all'entrata della nostra sede a l'innovazione piii importante di quest'anno. La volta che copre l'ingresso e la maestosa fontana, rendono prestigio all'edificio mentre sono anche di estrema utility. I simboli della nostra regione che ci distinguono adornano anche all'esterno la sede del nostro Club. II leone di San Marco primeggia alto di fronte all'ingresso ed a visibile anche dalla strada.

AII'interno la "reception" 6 stata completamente rinnovata per adattarla sia all'ingresso della nuova sezione della sala da gioco e sia alle due sale da ricevimento. II disegno e la realizzazione del progetto si devono alla ditta Crema.

Nell'Assemblea Generale dello scorso anno venne votata all'unanimita la decisione di procedere a costruire un centro sportivo nel retro della nostra Sede. Purtroppo it progetto ha trovato difficolta ad ottenere l'approvazione delle autorita del "Melbourne Water".

Ancora oggi siamo in discussione per tale permesso di costruzione e voglio anticipare a voi soci che, personalmente mi sto battendo per ottenere i permessi necessari e che fare, del mio meglio a tale fine. Spero di riuscirci entro quest'anno.

Nel campo finanziario, come chiaramente dimostrato nelle relazioni dei revisori dei conti, siamo sempre in'una situazione vantaggiosa anche se le "Poker Machines" hanno diminuito it loro guadagno a causa dell'apertura a Melbourne del Casino. Le attivita sociali e sportive invece sono aumentate portando alle casse del Club un maggiore introito che oltre ad aumentare l'utile, dimostra la piena vitality del nostro sodalizio.

Per questo motivo mi sento riconoscente a tutti i soci che dimostrano ancora oggi un grande interesse per la nostra organizzazione. Da non dimenticare anche rapport° di tutti coloro che, per simpatia alle nostre attivita e, magari, anche alla nostra gioviale ospitalita, frequentano numerosi it Veneto Social Club.

I membri del comitato direttivo sono stati con me oltremodo cooperativi e devo ringraziarli per tutto it lavoro che hanno fatto e per l'aiuto che sempre mi hanno dato.

Rivolgendomi ai soci che fanno parte dei vari sottocomitati e che sono conseguentemente i promotori delle vane attivita sociali e sportive voglio ricordare loro la mia sincera gratitudine per la loro insostituibile opera.

Le signore del Comitato "Ladies Auxiliary" sono sempre attivissime nella loro opera di coordinamento di tutte le attivita sociali del Club e non mancano di curare con devozione le consuete attivita di beneficienza donando ogni anno a varie istituzioni, quali it Children Hospital e simili, somme che onorano la generosity dei Veneti di Melbourne. Ringrazio queste benemerite signore per la loro dedizione.

Accanto alle signore del Comitato Ladies Auxiliary ci sono diverse persone che offrono it loro lavoro al Club gratuitamente. La mia riconoscenza a rivolta anche a tutte queste volenterose persone.

Nello sport bocciofilo i giocatori del nostro Club continuano a mietere copiosi successi. Quest'anno la squadra che ha partecipato ai campionati inter-statali era composta da ben sei giocatori del nostro Club.

Frutto questo di una severa selezione nelle gare statali che ha premiato, quali migliori, i nostri giocatori.

Ringrazio per tutti questi successi it presidente dei bocciofili Sig. Bruno Vittadello e tutto it suo comitato.

Le signore del comitato bocciofilo femminile sono sempre state delle ottime cooperatrici delle attivita di

Lo sport del calcio a sempre molto frequentato dai nostri soci e la squadra seniors si a classificata terza nel campionato del Victoria. Ringrazio it comitato che si cura di questo sport e tutti i giocatori per i loro continui successi augurando loro sempre migliori traguardi sportivi.

Tennis e squash sono sempre presenti al nostro Club e si distinguono con i loro continui successi. A questi sport che attraggono maggiormente i giovani, facciamo tutti i nostri migliori auguri per un avvenire di grande successo. Ringrazio tutti i soci che vi partecipano e it comitato che organizza le loro attivita.

Le varie associazioni provinciali venete continuano a fare parte integrale della nostra grande famiglia veneta e le loro attivita presso it nostro Club rinsaldano sempre pia la nostra cultura e la nostra unita.

Ringraziamo i van coordinatori per it loro apporto al nostro sodalizio.

Ringrazio it "Shooters Committee" per le sue attivita sociali che si svolgono spesso al nostro Club.

Al Comitato Dei "Giovani Adulti" auguro che le loro attivita progrediscano nell'interesse di tutti i soci del nostro sodalizio. Grazie per quanto hanno fatto e per 66 che faranno nell'immediato futuro.

A Mario Bonis, a Celio Stocco e al Comitato per it Gioco del "Bingo" vada un mio sincero grazie per la loro instancabile opera, molto apprezzata dai vari frequentatori. Grazie anche a questi ultimi per la loro frequenza al Club.

I raduni degli Anziani nella nostra Sede sociale sono frequentati sempre da numerose persone.

Ringrazio pertanto gli organizzatori di questi convivi per la loro benemerita opera e auguro loro un lungo e brillante futuro.

Anche l'attivita corale, simpatico specchio della cultura della nostra terra di origine, continua a rappresentare con onore la nostra etnia in Melbourne.

Grazie e auguri di ancora tanti successi.

RELAZIONE ANNUALE 1994/ '95

President's Report Dear Members, This year's report, in the fifth year of my presidency, finds our Club in a very healthy state of progress.

On both a social and financial level, we have been able to achieve all that we could have hoped for.

This year's most important innovation is the new and impressive construction at the Club's entrance. The archway covering the entrance and the majestic fountain afford prestige to the building as well as being extremely useful. The distinguishing symbols of our Region now also adorn the Club's grounds. St Mark's lion soars high in front of the entrance and it is visible even from the road. On the inside, the reception has been completely renovated in order to accommodate both the entrance to the new section of the games room and the two reception rooms. The design and construction of the project were completed by the Crema company.

During last year's General Assembly, it was unanimously decided to proceed with the construction of a new sports complex at the rear of our premises. Unfortunately, we have had some difficulty gaining approval for this project, from Melbourne Water. We are still holding discussions on this matter and I would like to inform members that I will continue to endeavour to do my best in order to gain the necessary permits for its construction. I hope to achieve this by the year's end.

In the area of finance, as clearly demonstrated by the Auditors' Report, we are still in an advantageous position despite a decrease in profits from the Poker Machines, clearly due to the opening of the Melbourne Casino.

There has instead been an increase in social and sporting activities which, as well as having brought an increase in profits to the Club, has also demonstrated an ever continuing interest in our organization.

It is thus that I am very grateful to all members who, to this day, show a strong interest in our Club.

Not to be forgotten, is the support shown by the many who enjoy our activities and, perhaps, value our jovial hospitality, through their frequent attendance at the Veneto Social Club.

The members of the Committee of Management have been extremely cooperative and I must thank them for all their work and the help they have always given me.

In addressing those members who belong to the various sub-committees and who consequently are the promoters of the many social and sporting activities, I

would like to offer my sincerest thanks for their it replaceable work.

The Ladies Auxiliary Committee is, as always, extremely busy with the coordination of all the Club's social activities and never fails to take care of the customary fund raising activities for charity.

Each year it donates to various institutions, amongst them the Children's Hospital, giving sums of money which always do justice to the generosity of the Veneti in Melbourne. I thank this well-deserving committee for all its hard work.

Alongside the Ladies Auxiliary, there are many people who volunteer their work to the Club. My gratitude is extended to these kind people.

In bocce our players continue to achieve great successes. This year's competing team in the interstate games included six players from our Club. An achievement gained through a gruelling selection process in the State competitions which rewarded our players as the best. For all the success, I thank the President of the Bocce Sub-committee, Mr Bruno Vittadello and all members of the committee.

The members of the Ladies Bocce Sub-committee have always contributed to the activities of this sport.

I extend a special thanks to these women.

Soccer is always strongly supported by our members and the Senior team has reached third place in the Victorian Championship. I thank the committee in charge of this sport and all the players for their continued success, wishing them always further triumphs.

Tennis and squash are ever present at our Club and they stand out through their continued success. To these sports, which predominantly attract young people, we give our best wishes for on-going future successes. I thank all members who participate in them and the Sub-committee that organizes their activities.

The various Veneto Provincial Associations continue to play an integral role in our organization and their activities, based at our club, further strengthen our culture and unity. We thank the various coordinators for their contribution to our Club.

I thank the Shooters Sub-committee for its social activities which are regularly held at our Club.

My best wishes to the Young Adults Sub-committee in that their activities further the interests of all members of our Club. Thank you for all that they've achieved and for what they will do in the immediate future.

A sincere thanks to Mario Bonis, Celio Stocco and the Bingo Sub-committee for their tireless work, greatly appreciated by the many patrons. Thank you also to the latter for their attendance at the Club.

Gatherings held by the Circoli Anziani di Bulleen, on our premises, are always attended in large numbers.

I therefore thank the organizers of these events for their well-deserving work and I wish them a long and brilliant future.

The activities of the Coro, a pleasing reflection of the culture of our native land, continues to represent with honour our ethnicity in Melbourne. Thank you and best wishes for many more successes.

Our organization employs many people in a variety of areas ranging from administration to maintenance, games, restaurant, kitchen and bar. To all these employees, who carry out their work with diligence and honesty, I give my sincere thanks.

I would personally like to thank the Secretary, Mr Lewis Crema, the Treasurer, Mr Celio Stocco, the Vice-Presidents Mr Fiore Bortolotto and Mr David Barbieri, and all the other members of the Committee of Management for their tireless cooperation in the Club's interest.

Our Club's continued achievements, both in social activities and in the area of sport, are a credit to our management and direction. I, along with the Committee of Management, thank all those who directly or indirectly have contributed in the achievement of our success.

Dal Direttore del Club Cari Soci, sono ritornato alla direzione del Club ed ormai scadono i miei 12 mesi di servizio che sono passati piuttosto velocemente. Penso di aver imparato che per poter dare possibility a tutti di essere ascoltati ed accontentati, bisogna fare i passi un po' pia lunghi del normale. Ma qui, al nostro Club, i passi da gigante sono di ordinaria amministrazione. Penso non valga la pena di parlarvi dell'anno finanziario che abbiamo ora concluso tanto basta frequentare il Club per vedere e testimoniare le attivita che di continuo si susseguono in ogni settore. Al momento si stanno considerando tanti progetti per il futuro che sono certamente utili sia per la sopravvivenza sia per il continuo buon nome del Club.

Ogni nuovo progetto ed ogni nuova idea hanno con se un seguito di discussioni e di visioni che da sempre dividono le opinioni e creano tante difficolta.

So pero che tutti i soci vogliono vedere it nostro sodalizio rimanere ancora al vertice della comunita e

Vice-President's Report Dear Members On behalf of myself and the second Vice-President Mr David Barbieri I would like to Thank the President, all the Committee, the Ladies Auxiliary and all the volunteers for their support and valued service to the Club during the past 12 months.

Today the Club is at acrossroad, like our father who came to this country they had.to accept big changes in their way of life, business and boundaries and adjust old ideas and progress with new concepts and strategies. The Club has to accept what was the past and progress as a great club into the future without loosing its identity and history.

In these difficult times of change, we of hardworking backgrounds, must want the Club to overcome these distractions and realign with the rest. All

sub-committees should bring their ideas and recommendations to proper conducted meetings and the committee should listen and act to improve and progress into the year 2000.

During the past 12 months the committee has focused on different activities around the Club with some success and some failures. We need to focus on our successes because if they are wanted enough they will succeed.

Cari amici soci, come nel passato siamo presenti con la nostra relazione annuale per condividere con voi i nostri risultati dell'anno. Essendo un piccolo comitato, come it nostro, siamo liete dei risultati soddisfacenti che abbiamo avuto durante questo periodo. Con delle attivita sociali e sorteggi siamo orgogliose di rappresentare it nostro Club, come consueto, con donazioni al "Royal Children Hospital" e al "Bone Marrow" case di cura per anziani. Dal Comitato "Bocce" Il tempo vola purtroppo e un altro anno a gia passato. Tutto messo insieme a stato un anno di successi per i giocatori delle bocce. Come di consueto la squadra del Victoria che andra a giocare ad Adelaide 6 tutta composta di giocatori che militano nel Veneto Club e pure it Team Manager 6 veneto. La squadra a composta da S.Gatto, E.Colla, M.Velo, A.Pozzer, G.Favaro, W.Brecevic, T.M. P.Gusatto.

Come avete visto quest'anno ci sono state delle innovazioni nel sistema di qualificazione del Victoria.

Si 6 incominciato a introdurre it sistema "R.Robin".

Questo sistema ha funzionato in parte. Questo per tanti giocatori era buono, ma per i migliori no, specialmente per quelli che erano abituati ad andare sempre nelle finali e vincere qualcosa. to penso che quando si fa una gara ci debba essere una finale. Pure nella S.A. abbiamo dominato anche li. R.Brazzale e F.Gentezin

hanno dominato pure molto bene anche nella S.B.. In generale it Club Veneto si fa sempre notare. Anche i giovani si fanno molto onore. Come gia sapete S.Favrin e P.Gusatto hanno rappresentato it Victoria nel campionato australiano ed hanno fatto piazza pulita.

Hanno perso solo un titolo su cinque. Congratulazioni a questi giovani che saranno it futuro del nostro Club.

Il T.M. era pure un giocatore del Veneto Club, F. Cardinale che 6 pure tesoriere del Victoria. Durante l'anno abbiamo avuto molte altre gare importanti.

Abbiamo avuto la famosa gara "Nubrik" che a stata un success°. Alla gara erano presenti tutti i migliori giocatori dell'Australia e anche qui i nostri campioni si sono fatti valere. Nelle prime quattro posizioni ben

1) S.Gatto, E.Colla; 2) G.D'Alessandro, F.Cardinale; 3) M.Velo, E.Pozzer; 5) M.Angeloni, J.Mio. Poi abbiamo avuto la visita del Cattolico Club di Griffith. Anche in questa occasione abbiamo rafforzato la nostra amicizia che c'e in questi due Club.

Abbiamo giocato la quadretta con giocatori misti. Due del Veneto e due del Cattolico. E stata una very gara di amicizia e speriaino di continuarla per tanti anni ancora.

Organizzata da M.Angeloni abbiamo avuto la gara "Children Hospital" che ha avuto un grande successo. Abbiamo raccolto la bella somma di 2800 dollari. Il Comitato Bocce ringrazia tutti gli sponsor ed anche i numerosi giocatori che hanno partecipato.

Ora vorrei ringraziare tutto it Comitato Bocce per il lavoro che fa.

Dalla Federazione Australiana Bocce A RIJEKA IL SETTIMO CAMPIONATO MONDIALE GIOVANILE DI BOCCE II Campionato mondiale Giovanile di Bocce si disputers dal 19 al 23 luglio a Rijeka in Croazia. Non si sa ancora quanti paesi parteciperanno a questi mondiali, si pensa che saranno una dozzina.

L'Australia ha selezionato i seguenti giocatori: Robert Mikuletic del New South Wales, Daniel Gusatto e Steven Favrin del Victoria.

L'allenatore sara Nick Cirocco del South Australia.

Facendo un pronostico, quest'anno l'Australia con i giocatori che ha, potrebbe battere it record dell'anno scorso dove ha vinto per la prima volta la Coppa delle Nazioni del Mondo e potrebbe trovarsi fra le prime quattro in semifinale. Pero sara motto dura.

Anche in qUesti mondiali ci sara in palio it Campionato Modiale di Squadra che consiste del

Singolo, Doppio e Punto Tiro. Auguriamo a questa giovane squadra tanto successo e in bocca al lupo.

Il Ventesimo Campionato "QUIT" Nazionale Bocce maschile si a appena concluso in South Australia ed a stato un successo, sia come organizzazione e sia sport. Per la prima volta nella storia delle Bocce si a svolto it Primo Campionato Nazionale Femminile.

Le gare disputate erano: Doppio, Triplo e Punto Tiro.

Anche se era la prima volta si a visto molto buon gioco e la bocciofile si sono promesse di ritrovarsi it prossimo anno in West Australia. Auguri per it futuro.

L'anno 1994P95 a giunto al termine, it nostro sottocomitato si congratula con le poche giocatrici che ancora rappresentano it nostro Club, sperando che in avvenire it numero aumenti.

Mi sento in dovere di menzionare it lavoro che le signore del sottocomitato Bocce svolgono durante l'anno per la buona riuscita di tutte le competizioni bocciofile, federali, sociali, interstatali e amichevoli. In special modo per la splendida riuscita dei campionati australiani svoltasi nella nostra sede.

Dal Coro Veneto Cari Soci e amici del Coro Veneto Eccoci qui di nuovo con il nostro piccolo resoconto annuale. Con tanta buona volonta e entusiasmo continuiamo a fare le nostre prove, sotto la

direzione del bravo Maestro Piero Canil, ogni giovedi sera per prepararci sempre meglio per le nostre esibizioni.

Quest'anno a stato un anno abbastanza occupato, abbiamo cominciato verso la fine dell'anno scorso con la nostra esibizione alla cerimonia d'inaugurazione della nuova entrata del nostro bellissimo Club, alla presenza di un folto pubblico e autorita, fra le quali anche il Vice-

Premier del Victoria, Mr Pat McNamara.

A Natale siamo andati a cantare, canti natalizi, alla "City Square" di Melbourne, assieme a parecchi altri gruppi etnici. E stata una serata memorabile, nella quale si sentiva lo spirito natalizio nei nostri cuori. A riguardo di quella serata particolare, una simpatica nostra corista ha scritto una bella poesia nella quale descrive molto bene come si a svolta la serata. La potete leggere in queste pagine.

Verso la fine di febbraio abbiamo, come al solito, rappresentato it nostro Club con i nostri migliori canti al Templestowe Festival.

Faceva molto caldo, ma abbiamo cantato con molta allegria lo stesso.

Ai primi di marzo siamo andati, come di consueto, al Calabria Club di Bulla; anche qui abbiamo cantato con molta soddisfazione e maestria.

Quest'anno abbiamo partecipato per la prima volta alla "Moomba Parade"; un'esperienza nuova ma molto soddisfacente.

Colgo l'occasione di questa relazione per ringraziare tutti i coristi per la loro pazienza e per la loro buona volonta. Poi a nome dei coristi voglio ringraziare it Presidente del Club, il nostro Liaison Officer, il comitato e tutti i soci per il loro sostegno.

Cerchiamo un po' di incoraggiarci tutti a vicenda e fare si the it nostro Coro vada avanti sempre meglio, per conservare la cultura e per il bene di tutti.

SECRETARY'S REPORT It is with great pleasure that I present my fifth Secretary's report, and gladly advise that the Club is still doing very well socially and financially and also still involved in very many sporting activities for all ages, starting from very young soccer and tennis players to older bocce players who, fortunately, still enjoy their weekend bocce games. Although throughout the year the Club functions and dinner dances have had high attendances, we would love to have higher participation by the younger people, not only to the Dinner Dance type functions but also to the normal Saturday or Sunday night dinners that the Club provide at a very reasonable price, and at a relaxed type atmosphere even for those who have little children with them. The Committee constantly work on how to attract younger people to the Club, and hopefully we will provide shortly, more sporting facilities for our younger members.

Unfortunately, this year I will be resigning my position as Secretary due to work commitments, and advise that the last 5 years of being a Committee member of the Veneto Social Club has been most enjoyable and an interesting experience. I hope to be able to join the Committee again in the not to distant future, and hopefully continue the good work and contribute to the great success of the Veneto Social Club that our parents started.

I thank all the office staff for their great work in the past and also the Committee and above all our President, Mr Martini.

NOTE 1

STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTING POLICIES This is not a general purpose financial report. It is a special purpose report prepared specifically for distribution to members in accordance with the Club's Constitution and to comply with the Corporations Law. The Club is of a type identified in Statement of Accounting Concepts 1 as a non-reporting entity.

The accounts are drawn up in accordance with the accounting principles and methods prescribed by Statements of Accounting Concepts and applicable Accounting Standards, and contain the disclosure requirements of those Statements except for.

AAS 3 'Accounting for Income Tax' AAS 4 Depreciation of Non-Current Assets' AAS 10 'Accounting for the Revaluation of Non-Current Assets' because, in the opinion of the directors, to do so would have placed an unreasonable burden upon the entity for a comparably minor benefit. (i )

Historical Cost Convention The attached financial statements have been prepared on the basis of historical costs and do not take into account changing money values. They have been prepared on an accruals basis from the records of the Club.

NOTE 2

Freehold Land & Buildings and Improvements - At 1994 Valuation and 1994/95 additions at cost. (1994 Valuation $4,500,000). No Depredation has been provided on Buildings. The property was valued in April, 1994, by W.G. Miles & Co. Pty. Ltd. for purposes of establishing a current market value.

NOTE 3

Income Tax has not been provided. The Directors are of the opinion that the Trading Income may be exempt under the Income Tax Assessment Act. If the Club is deemed to be non-exempt there will be an income tax liability of $167,000 payable on the income of the years ended 30th April, 1994 and 1995 ($82,000 for 1994/95 and $85,000 for 1993/94). The Directors has applied for a Private Ruling from the Commissioner of Income Tax as to the Club's status.

NOTE 4

Available overdraft facility of $30,000 which is secured against land at 191 Bulleen Road, Bulleen and Bank Guarantee of $112,500 in favour of Tattersalls.

AUDITORS REPORT TO THE MEMBERS OF VENETO SOCIAL CLUB (A Company Limited by Guarantee) ACN. 004 843 752 Scope: We have audited the financial statements set out on pages 30 to 36. These statements have been prepared on the basis set out in Note 1 to the accounts.

The directors of the Company are responsible for the preparation and presentation of the financial statements of the Club. We have conducted an independent audit of these accounts in order to express an opinion of them to the members of the Club.

Our audit has been conducted in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards to provide reasonable assurance as to whether the accounts are free of material misstatement. Our procedures included examination, on a test basis, of evidence supporting the accounts and other disclosures in the financial statements, and the evaluation of accounting policies and significant accounting estimates. These procedures have been undertaken to form an opinion as to whether, in all material aspects the financial statements:(i )

are presented fairly in accordance with the historic cost basis of accounting outlined in Note 1 to the accounts, and

(ii)

present a true and fair view in accordance with the requirements of the Corporations Laws,

so as to present a view of the Company which is consistent with our understanding of its financial position and the results of its opera. The financial statements have not been prepared as a general purpose financial report in accordance with Statements of Accounting Concepts and Accounting Standards.

The audit opinion expressed in this report has been formed on the above basis.

Opinion: In our opinion, the accounts of the Veneto Social Club are properly drawn up: (a)

so as to give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Club as at 30th April, 1995 and of the results of the Club for the year ended on that date.

THE COMMITTEE'S STATUTORY REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30TH APRIL, 1995 The Members of the Committee (Directors) of the Veneto Social Club (a Company Limited by Guarantee) submit herewith the Balance Sheet as at 30th April, 1995 and Income and Expenditure Statement for the year ended on that date and report as follows: 1.

The Members of the Committee (Directors) in office at the date of this report were: Messrs A. Martini, F. Bortolotto, D. Barbieri, L. Crema, C. Stocco, A. Bolzonello, J. Bogotto, G. Cattapan, P. Ferronato, A. Rossiani, R. Rostolis, L. Sella and T. Signor.

The principal activity of the Club during the year ended 30th April, 1995 was to provide social amenities to its members and no significant changes in the nature of these activities occurred during the year.

The Net Surplus of the Club for the year amounted to $915972. Income Tax has not been provided but it is estimated that if the Club is deemed to be non exempt by the Income Tax Commissioner, there will be an income tax liability of $167000 payable on the income of the years ended 1994 and 1995.

4.

There were no shares or debentures issued during the year.

5.

No payment of dividends as such are permitted under the Memorandum of Association of the Company.

6.

Since the end of the previous financial period there were no dividends paid or declared.

7.

No significant changes in the state of affairs of the Club occurred during the financial year.

8.

No matters or circumstances have arisen since the end of the financial year which significantly affected or may significantly affect the operations of the Club, the results of those operations, or the state of affairs of the Club in financial years subsequent to the financial year ended 30th April, 1995.

9.

Since the 30th April, 1994 no member of the Committee has received or become entitled to receive a benefit not disclosed in the accounts, by reason of a contract between the Club and members of the Committee.

10.

No options to shares in the Club have been granted during the year nor are there any options outstanding.

TREASURER'S REPORT I have a great deal of pleasure in once again reporting on the financial activities of the Club for the year ended 30th April, 1995.

The Club has ended the year successfully with a net Surplus of $915,972. This figure is down on last year by $168,384.

Bar and Restaurant trading has shown an improvement over last year with total Food and Bar sales up by $99,952. Cost of Sales and Total Wages have also increased by $60,113 leaving a gross margin of $39,839. A decrease in total charges of $12,149 gives a Sales Margin increase of $51,988. With an increase in other income of $8,975 our total income for the year is up by $60,963.

Total Expenses have increased by $83,907. Repairs and Maintenance increased by $18,117, Admin and Management Wages $37,517, Superannuation $10,412 and Legal Fees $14,557. These were the main increases.

Member Income increased by $12,763. Although membership subscriptions are down $40,528 due to reducing membership from $75 to $50, Bank Interest received has increased by $55,558.

Income from Gaming has decreased by $93,463 and expenses have increased by $64,740 giving a net decrease of $158,203. The decrease in income is due to increased competition mainly from Crown Casino, and increase in expenses mainly due to Promotional Activity up $31,895 and Wages up $32,947.

The Balance Sheet is in a very healthy state with Current Assets increased by $562,222 and Fixed Assets increased by $412,690. Total Assets are $7,772,991 against Current Liabilities of $384,129.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Agostino Martini and the main Committee for their dedication and hard work throughout this past year. I would also like to thank the Finance Committee for their advice and guidance, and to the office staff, John Cobain and Mario Bonis, and all Staff of the Club.

The Club Championship were recently held and it was encouraging to see a good response from the Juniors.

The Tina Mantello Trophy was awarded to Lina Luca, a dedicated Club Member who played Saturday competitions for many years.

Tennis Report

Amongst the many excellent juniors who play and/or are coached at the Club, the success of several are noteworthy.

In the 18 year that Veneto Tennis has been active, it has not only provided enjoyment for the members, but also made a substantial financial contribution to the Club.

MAXIM KHVOROSTIN Since coming to Australia from Moscow in 1991, some of Maxim's achievements are: - Member of the State Squad 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995; - Victoria Team member of the winning Australian 12 and under Rod Laver Cup, undefeated in singles and doubles; - Played No. 1 in Shell 12A; - 20 tournament wins in two years.

DANIEL ROBILOTTA Daniel started playing at the Veneto Club in Saturday morning competitions at the age of 8.

He was selected in the E.M.R.L.T.A. Region McDonald's and Shell squads in the Under 14 group and played the Nationals at Flinders Park.

Whilst in the Under 14 group, he was ranked in the top 50 in Australia and was seeded in the top 10 in all tournaments.

Now in the Under 16 group, he is ranked No. 1 junior in the McDonald's Category 1 for his region.

We wish these and all juniors continuing success.

Peter 011erton comes with a wealth of experience having represented Australia at senior level and being part of the Socceroo Squad for 1972 World Cup Held in Germany.

We wish Peter all the best in his appointments and thank Jeff Olver for his contribution as coach.

The Bulleen-Veneto Club has bought only one player during the off season: Dale White, from Woolongong City, $2000.

The Players that have left the Club are: - Danny Tiatto, to Melbourne Knight, $10,000; - Michael Branov, to Faukner, $4,000; - Michael Vesnaver, to Albion, $3500; - John Gasparini, to Fawkner; - Gary Frezzini, to Box Hill, $500.

Soccer's Report Bulleen-Veneto commenced its 1995 Premier League campaign with the appointment of Jeff Olver as player-coach after the sudden departure of Andy Bozikas to National League Club Heidelberg Utd. The Bulleen-Vento S.C. wishes Andy all the best in his appointment after his most successful stint with Bulleen.

During his four years as coach of Bulleen-Veneto, the Club won the championship in 1993 and finished equal first in 1991, 3rd in 1992 and 3rd in 1994.

Jeff Olver's stint as player coach lasted until Round 9 of the Premier League season when Jeff resigned as coach after founding the task of playing and coaching difficult to handle. Jeff has remained as a player with the Club.

he establish himself as an excellent player for his Club, Melbourne Knights, he also represented Australia in the Olympic Side and as well represented Australia at senior level in its games against Japan. A truly great achievement for a player that has only been in the National League for three months.

The Bulleen-Veneto Club hopes that in its 1995 campaign that the team will finish in the top five and hopefully go on to win the Championship. Bulleen-Veneto has also obtained on loan from South Melbourne Paul Wade the current Socceroo captain.

The Reserve Team has as its coach Angelo Petrakos, who coached the under 16's in 1994 and was assistant coach to the National Youth Side of Bulleen.

A special mention should be made about Alfonso Pozzebon.

Alfonso Pozzebon has been a dedicated and hard working contributor for the Veneto Social Club, as a Main Committee member or Soccer Sub-Committe member.

Alfonso has been part of the Main Committee for over 8 years, but last year for some unknown reason was unfortunately not re-elected on the Committee.

The disappointment did not deter Alfonso from continuing to make valuable contributions to the Club.

He then was elected as Vice-President of the Soccer Sub-Committee.

His continual support of the Club is invaluable and hopefully if he ever decides to make himself available for the main committee he will be once again given the opportunity to be part of the Main Committee.

President: U.Caneva Secretary: J.Coleman Spring Pennant 1994 The Club competed with 5 teams in the Club Circuit of the victoria Squash Rackets Association. While all teams were competitive none were able to make the finals. Best performed were John Coleman's C.2 Grade Team, were Joe Perri had an outstanding season, and Joe Macciocca's D.3 Grade Team with Lou Dal Santo having a great season.

Joe Macciocca's D 4 Grade Team and David Apswoude's F Grade Team are both in second position and have good chances of winning.

Autumn Pennant 1995 As we go to press the autumn season is nearing completion. The Club has excellent prospects in three of its five grades.

The C 2 Grade Team, captained by Andrew Merfield, has been on top all season and is favoured to take out the flag.

The Club would like to thank the Bar and Kitchen staff for their excellent service throughout the year and to the Office for its continued cooperation.

Veronesi nel Mondo Melbourne

L'Associazione Veronesi nel Mondo di Melbourne nell'ultimo semestre ha dato spunto di continuo aumento. Sempre piu numerosi sono i partecipanti alle nostre manifestazioni. Nell'ultimo periodo dopo il picnic di Santa Lucia (il 13 dicembre) si passava alla festa del "Papa del Gnocco", impersonato dal nostro tesoriere Antonio Piccoli. La cena veniva servita al Veneto Social Club con puntualita ed abbondanza. Piatti di gnocchi a volonta e secondi piatti gustosissimi accompagnati con musica e tanta allegria. Soci ed amici non mancavano di ringraziare 1'Associazione ed it Veneto Club. Per 1'occasione, assieme al nostro gruppo sportivo di Verona e dintorni che partecipo al "Police and Fire Olimpics", vi erano presenti alla festa, veronesi da Griffith e da Adelaide. Medaglie e doni venivano scambiati con i van componenti.

I130 aprile scorso, anche se il tempo non ci a stato in favore, oltre un centinaio di soci ed amici hanno partecipato alla festa annuale delle castagne. 150 Kg. di castagne si sono consumate e 40 litri di vino 6 stato bevuto, questo offerto dall'Associazione. Hanno completato la giornata cori e barzellette. Ricche lotterie sono state estratte grazie a sponsor come Antonio Piccoli, Giancarlo Giusti, Cardamone, La Mediterranea, Ernesto Emporio, Mario Cora, Gervasi Food, Giuseppe Skrezenek, Arena Plumbing, Reece di Airport West ed altri. A questi giungano ringraziamenti da parte di tutti not veronesi. Auguriamoci di continuare.

Sportivi ed amici che ritirano la medaglia offerta dal gruppo dei veronesi di Melbourne. Danistra: Antonio Piccoli (tesoriere), Silvano Mizzon (segretario) e Renzo Zanella (presidente).

Shooters' Report E sempre intensa. l'attivita dei tiratori al piattello del Veneto Social Club. Durante la stagione 1994/195 i tiratori veneti si sono imposti in gare di alto livello.

Tra le gare degne di nota possiamo menzionare quelle delta South East zone, di Wonthaggi, Bairsdale e Shapperton.

Il Lilydale Shooter Club merita una speciale nota per le varie e interessanti gare che qui si svolgono. Cio dovuto al dedicato lavoro dei componenti del comitato e a tutti coloro che sono riusciti ad ottenere sponsorizzazioni. A tutti questi vada it nostro ringraziamento. Venerdi 14 luglio festeggeremo insieme nella Sala Venezia la nostra annuale cena con ballo. Come gia preannunciato parecchie volte, it fine settimana del 28 e 29 ottobre a Sydney avremo l'occasione di partecipare al secondo raduno nazionale dell'Ente Vicentini nel Mondo, circoli d'Australia. Noi, come tutte le altre

possibility di apprendere e di divertirsi allo stesso tempo.

Anche se il proverbio dice prima it dovere e poi il piacere, dato che di doveri ce ne sono ben pochi rimarra solo il piacere di aver partecipato ad una riunione tanto importante ed aver avuto la possibility di fare dei suggerimenti propri the possono essere inclusi nel piano biennale 1995/1997.

Fin da ora voglio infatti ringraziare quanti si adopereranno per dare un impulso di vita nuova a questo nostro Ente che ci vede pronti ad affrontare gli anni 2000.

A tutti un sincero augurio di belle cose, al veneto Social Club grazie per l'opportunita dataci ed il continuo sostegno durante tutto l'anno.

Comunita Montana dei 7 Comuni dell'Altopiano di Asiago Alcuni membri e amici del Comitato

Sembra ieri che abbiamo fatto una chiacch'erata tramite questa rivista in occasione della relazione annuale del 1994, ed oggi e gia ora di fame un'altra per quella del 1995. Gli anni passano e not stiamo andando verso l'autunno della nostra gioventii, ed e proprio di questo che vorrei parlare. Vorrei chiedere a tutti i soci di pensare al futuro della nostra comunita, di parlarne con entusiasmo ai loro figli per incoraggiarli a partecipare a qualche nostra festa, per spronarli a tenere vivo il ricordo delle loro origini. Solo cosi facendo potremo avere la consolazione di vedere i nostri giovani venire a far parte della nostra organizzazione assicurandone cosi una continuity nel futuro. E,

nell'ambito della medesima, ripetere e perpetuare le nostre antiche tradizioni.

L'interesse c'e. La partecipazione alle nostre riunioni e feste aumenta ogni anno, cosi come sta aumentando it numero dei soci. Questa 6 un'immensa soddisfazione per il comitato che ci mette anima e cuore per portare avanti l'organizzazione.

Vorrei ricordare a tutti i soci che quest'anno it ballo annuale si terra presso il Veneto Social Club il 7 ottobre 1995. L'anno scorso ci sono state delle lamentele perche non fu fatto "a casa nostra", cioe al Veneto Club. Cosi, 51

Soci ed amici che, lo scorso . febbraio, hanno trascorso una meravigliosa settimana in visita dell'intera Tasmania.

quest'anno, speriamo di vedervi contenti e pia numerosi di sempre a questa tradizionale festa che si fa annualmente per onorare i pionieri della Comunita Montana.

Il picnic Natalizio si terra alla "Baita Alpina" di Fairfield Park, il 19 novembre 1995. Dunque vi raccomando di prender nota di queste date; 6 importantissimo stare uniti e di trovarci in allegra compagnia di tanto in tanto.

A marzo del 1996 avremo la visita a Melbourne di circa 150 - 200 persone dall'Altopiano. Molte di queste persone saranno dei nostri parenti o amici e not li aspettiamo a braccia aperte. Diversi di questi ospiti hanno espresso il desiderio di visitare il Centro Australia, pertanto stiamo organizzando un itinerario per

le loro vacanze che comprendera una gita turistica a Darwin, Kakadu National Park, Ayres Rock e Coober Peedy. Ovviamente dovremmo avere una conferma per questa gita e cosi vi daremo notizie pia precise appena saremo a conoscenza delle loro decisioni.

Vorrei concludere ringraziando tutti i membri del Comitato, essi non sono solo colleghi, ma anche cari amici. Questo significa che it nostro lavoro possiamo farlo con pia entusiasmo ed in lieta compagnia.

Un grazie di cuore a Don Smarelli, a Tony Spagnolo e alla signora Gina Bortoli, e a tutti voi, soci della Comunita Montana, per il vostro appoggio, ma soprattutto per la vostra sincera amicizia.

dai partecipanti. La giornata comincio con la santa messa a cui tutti hanno preso parte. Ci fu poi un gustoso pranzo ben cucinato e preparato dalle nostre signore e dagli infaticabili mariti. Nel pomeriggio giochi per grandi e piccoli. Una accanita finale di morra giapponese tutta friulana!!! E alla sera polenta, formaggio, spaghetti, braciole di maiale, verdure ecc. ecc. Un vero picnic familiare e soddisfacente.

Trevisani nel Mondo E una fortuna avere la possibility di tanto in tanto far arrivare a tutti i soci notizie della nostra associazione assieme a tante altre associazioni venete. Per questo not siamo riconoscenti al Direttivo del Veneto Social Club che ci da spazio in questa pubblicazione per inserire anche un nostro articoletto.

Dobbiamo riconoscere che, grazie a Dio, le cose per 1'A.T.M. procedono bene e con entusiasmo. Finora abbiamo organizzato tre eventi sociali che hanno avuto abbastanza successo. Il primo alla fine di febbraio, l'annuale picnic all'Heidelberg Park. Ha fatto piacere a tutti vedere riunita tanta gente e fu di grande soddisfazione per gli organizzatori arrivare alla fine della giornata stanchi si ma contenti. Nonostante si siano prese le dovute precauzioni per avere cibo in abbondanza, alla fine si a visto che tutto quello che avevamo portato era stato consumato e con grande soddisfazione

A marzo la prima serata sociale col dinner dance al Freccia Azzurra Club di Keysborough. Qui chi vi partecipa rimane sempre soddisfatto per l'abbondanza del cibo e la bonta con cui viene preparato. Anche quest'anno furono molti quelli che aderirono all'invito e partirono dal Club soddisfatti.

Alla fine di aprile per la prima volta si organizzato un pranzo per ricordare la festa del santo patrono di Treviso: San Liberale. Non ci fu it solito pienone ma per la prima volta si puo stare contenti.

Ora guardiamo al futuro e stiamo allestendo una gita in Nuova Zelanda a cui hanno aderito piu persone di quelle che si possono accontentare. Nell'ultimo week-end di luglio ci sara it tradizionale incontro con quelli di Myrtleford che piace sempre di piu per l'atmosfera che si crea ogni volta che siamo insieme.

La prima domenica di giugno stiamo organizzando un pranzo al Dromana Hotel con la collaborazione del proprietario Ray Stella per devolvere it profitto all'opera Assisi per la nuova casa di cura a cui tra poco si spera di dare inizio.

E naturalmente quest'anno vogliamo preparare bene l'ultima serata sociale dell'anno con un fantastico dinner dance il 20 novembre nella sala Venezia del Veneto Club. Si vuol ricordare it successo del terzo Convegno Nazionale dei Trevisani che lo scorso anno ebbe luogo a Melbourne e premiare con medaglia e pergamena quei Trevisani che da piu di 30 anni sono e lavorano qui in Australia.

Il Direttivo pia o meno anche quest'anno rimasto lo stesso, guidato saggiamente dall'alpino "pura razza Piave" Bepi Crema coadiuvato da un buon numero di collaboratori.

Dopo anni e anni di generoso contributo si sono preso un anno di riposo l'assistente segretario, Gino Zuccon e it dinamico e instancabile Bepi Agnoletto. A sostituirli si sono offerti Benito Pegorin e Tiziano Signor.

E questo a tutto per ora. Mentre ci congratuliamo col Presidente del Veneto Club e it suo Direttivo per i progressi che il Club ha fatto durante it 1994, vogliamo ringraziarli per l'ospitalita che il Club offre alla nostra Associazione.

L'anno sociale appena trascorso a stato piu impegnativo del solito, soprattutto per l'organi77a7ione del secondo convegno delle associazioni padovane del South Australia, Victoria e New South Wales che quest'anno a stato tenuto a Melbourne.

Per due giorni tutti i congressisti sono stati nostri ospiti; visita alla citta, gita sulla baia fino a Sorrento, traversata con it traghetto e B.B.Q. a Queenscliffe, due cene danzanti, it tutto all'insegna dell'amicizia e dell'allegria.

Il convegno si a concluso con una grande cena al Veneto Social Club con la promessa di rivederci tutti per it terzo convegno che si terra fra due anni ad Adelaide.

Come al solito, abbiamo inoltre organizzato diversi B.B.Q., cene e gite. L'undici giugno a stata celebrata l'annuale festa di Sant'Antonio con una sontuosa cena danzante al Veneto Social Club. Questi incontri sono molto sentiti da tutti i padovani che in

Sede di Melbourne Lo scorso 30 aprile la nostra Associazione ha tenuto nella sala San Marco del Veneto Social Club, l'annuale assemblea generale dei soci.

queste occasioni hanno Popportunita di incontrarsi con i vecchi amici e paesani, scambiarsi le ultime notizie e ricordare assieme i vecchi tempi in un'atmosfera di amicizia e fratellanza.

There were 340 persons wining, dining and dancing the night away, with a few lucky Bellunesi going home with lovely gifts they had won in the obligatory raffle.

During the Melbourne Cup Long Weekend a bus trip is organised which takes Members to various parts of Victoria, South Australia or New South Wales. Last year this trip was to Mildura. The bus left Melbourne on Saturday 29th October and returned on the 1st of November, during which time, the carefree travellers shared many a good story and sing-along while travelling to popular tourist haunts such as Orange World, Mildura Zoo, Bendigo Pottery and Wentworth Jail.

Lunch at the Wentworth R.S.L. is worth mentioning as the food was good and plentiful and reasonable price.

These weekends away give people the opportunity to share many lovely memories with friends without the worry of having to drive or organise "where to go next".

On the 12th of February this year, the Annual Picnic was once again held at Gumbuya Park. 250 Members joined together to eat various gourmet lunches after which time the mandatory sing-along was held. The weather was kind to the Picnickers, and this enabled everyone to go for walks through the Park's animal reserves and bush-land to walk off the effects of lunch.

We have great hopes that the Bellunesi Nel Mondo Club will continue to run successfully for many years to come, bringing both old and new together to share friendships and memorable times. With our present Members support and with the introduction of new members we know this will be possible.

Le celebrazioni del 21.mo anniversario del Veneto Social Club si sono concluse con l'estrazione di tre premi messi in patio della direzione del Club in collaborazione con la ditto TattsalLs e l'agenzia viaggi Concorde International Travel. Nella foto, da sinistra: Enrico Crusi dell'agenzia viaggi, Aleka Mavroudis the ha vinto it prima premio consistente in un viaggio e alloggio per 5 giorni per due persone a Cairns, Marco Gazzi,(terzo premio 2 viaggi a sorpresa), E.Morris (secondo premio viaggio per due persone 5 giorni a Surfers Paradise), e Johnny Bogotto del Camila to del Club.
