This Is a Scam Disguised as a Nation by dustin hoxworth

People of this fractured country, we are not living. We are barely surviving. Right now federal agents from ICE, an agency that’s been filled with Proud Douchebags and other white supremacist groups weaponized by this regime, have shot and killed a mother of three, and then shot another person in the leg just a week later amid protests and escalating tensions. And that's not even close to all the things they’ve done to terrorize our communities.

Let’s call it what it is: this is not law enforcement.

It is political terror. It is the terror of a government that has hoarded power, sold out compassion, and weaponized violence against its own people and communities for generations while hiding behind lies and propaganda.

Our government is a disgusting alliance of neoliberals and right-wing fascists that care only about money, power, and control. They do not care about justice. They do not care about your pain. They certainly don’t care about your kids or your neighbor who just wants to wake up and build a life without fear.

For generations my family has answered the call of this country; from the Civil War forward, sacrificing blood and bone in wars waged by the powerful to protect wealth and empire. And what do we have to show for it? A society where the kindest, most loving, most compassionate people are left with no healthcare, no retirement, no safety net, struggling to keep a roof over their heads while monsters like Blackrock buy up single-family homes, artificially inflate markets, and watch us bleed. They are not building anything, they are destroying our way of life.

This country’s media, owned by billionaire interests, protects pedofiles, lies through every election cycle, every tragedy, every manufactured “news cycle,” burying the truth under spectacle and distraction. It’s a scam and a con job where the house always wins, and we, the people, always lose, while we have citizens gleefully cheering them on.

But here’s the thing: we are not done. We will not be beaten into submission. From Minneapolis to the rest of this fractured nation, people are rising up, demanding accountability, demanding an end to violence and cruelty, demanding a future that honors human dignity. Will it help?

Probably not anytime soon, but if we don’t fight back we will never have the country we want and deserve, and instead it will be completely handed over to the corporate killing machine who rapes our lands, destroys our water and air, and hoards wealth and resources forcing millions of us to live in squaller, fighting for a crumb to eat.

And in that resistance, cannabis is a symbol, a bridge, a healer and a plant that has united communities long targeted by these same powers, as a force for clarity and collective resistance against authoritarian cruelty.

Our pain and struggle are real, but so is our resolve. We will not go quietly into the night.

We are not citizens in this system, we are resources to be drained, controlled, and discarded, and the moment we realize that is the moment their power starts to die.
