CANNAHUMANS MATT GUNTER

YOU’RE ALLOWED TO REST. You’re allowed to heal. You’re allowed to ask for help.

It might be the end of June, but let’s be real, Men’s Health deserves more than a checkbox on a calendar Because when men’s health suffers, the world suffers. The world burns The world descends into war and chaos That’s not hyperbole, it’s history
Men are still dying younger Still bottling up trauma Still told to “man up” instead of speak up. Cardiovascular disease, suicide, cancer, substance abuse; these aren’t just statistics These are our brothers, fathers, sons, partners, and friends. And the silence around their struggles is deafening
But here’s the shift: we’re not being quiet anymore. We’re doing plant medicine We’re doing therapy We’re doing breathwork, meditation, long walks, deep talks, and yes, we’re doing cannabis
Cannabis isn’t a vice, it’s medicine, and a mental health tool A damn important one From reducing chronic pain to easing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression, the plant has offered countless men an alternative path to healing without the side effects and numbing of pharmaceuticals It slows the spinning mind Softens the sharp edges Opens a window when the walls feel like they’re closing in
And it’s not just cannabis Mushrooms Ayahuasca Kava Rooted in tradition, now rediscovered in modern healing. These aren’t escape routes, they’re bridges back to ourself
Men’s Health Month isn’t just about reminding men to see a doctor or check their cholesterol It’s about rewriting the same old tired societal norm playbook. It’s about replacing the toxic myth of toughness with a new kind of strength, one rooted in vulnerability, presence, and connection.
So even if June’s almost gone, the work doesn’t stop The movement doesn’t end.
Here’s your reminder: you’re allowed to rest You’re allowed to heal You’re allowed to ask for help
And sometimes, that help looks like a joint, a circle of brothers, and a plant that’s been waiting for you to come home
"When men are given the space to heal, and the plant to help them do it, we don’t just change lives, we break cycles."

Acelebration of the people who make the cannabis industry special It's our living archive of the real ones; those who grind, grow, create, and advocate for the plant, the community, and the culture that surrounds it.
It’s about the unsung heroes; the budtender who remembers your name, the cultivator covered in resin, the artist sketching strains into the story. It highlights the growers, patients, advocates, artists, and everyday humans who live and breathe cannabis

Through striking visuals that tell stories, the idea is to capture the soul of our community, one face at a time to feature a snapshot of authenticity, a movement, a mirror, and a love letter to those shaping the future of this space with passion, grit, and dirt under their nails.

“Cannabis impacted my life in so many ways Mentally, physically, emotionally and most importantly spiritually”

Vanessa’s journey started like many of us early on She started smoking at the age of 13, and as she became older she learned that it can treat all kinds of health issues
“I use it on a daily basis.” Doinks are my Go-To’s, but one of the best things about the industry is learning all the different ways you can use it From smoking to topicals or edibles; the education in this industry has been wonderful
My love story with cannabis is beautiful Meeting people through this plant has helped me come out of my shy shell and to be able to put myself out there more, because that’s what this industry and life is all about--self love “

For those unfamiliar, my name is Greg and I make pictures with plants My current focus is a project called the Gratitude Art Gallery - a traveling art gallery dedicated to criminal justice reform, highlighting plant enthusiast artists, and galvanizing the mystery around freeing the prisoners who paved the way for what we’re doing today, freely
Until they have their rights restored the least we can do is support them. That’s why the gallery is so important to me All the money raised through art sales, donations, and silent auctions will go to Freedom Grow, a 501c3 non profit, who distributes the funds to commissary accounts for those still locked up
My experience at Benzinga was a mixed bag. Personally, it was very successful I connected with digital acquaintances in the real world, established a few new partnerships while solidifying existing ones, and have some solid leads on custom art projects
The gallery, sales and donations, were disappointing. There’s no spray packing it - the interest in advocacy and art just wasn’t there compared to NECANN, Hall of Flowers, and a dozen other smaller, culture focused, shows Zinga is for numbers people - and the numbers don’t lie - y’all’s donations to commissary accounts was low. Low like the quality of the weed MSO’s produce and their character The lowest of the low
I left Chicago full of rage, but still optimistic that change can be made Cause while the floor was chock full of Chads, there were revolutionaries in the room, and I was able to find a few
But I need more, Freedom Grow can do more The prisoners deserve more And we want to bring brands together to collectively support the mission
All that to say - I want to welcome Fat Nugs Magazine to the Gratitude Art Gallery as the exclusive publication of the tour In addition to regular conference reviews from the road, current and select FNM hard copies will be available for donation at upcoming events.
For more information on how you can support Freedom Grow and the Gratitide Art Gallery please contact me at cannabiscapes@gmail com
