June is National PTSD Awareness Month But for me and my family, it’s every damn day
PTSD didn’t just show up one day It’s been living in my bloodline since Vietnam My family came home from war only to fight another one inside their heads; alone, judged, medicated, and discarded What they needed wasn’t another bottle of pills or a condescending doctor, they needed understanding, healing, and access to something real Something natural Cannabis
And then there’s me. I didn’t wear a uniform, but I’ve got my own battlefield scars Mine were carved into me by the people who were supposed to love me the most Abuse doesn’t come with a discharge date. You don’t “get over it.” You carry it in your gut, in your sleep In your silence
Cannabis didn’t “fix” me It freed me It gave me my breath back It gave me space between the trigger and the breakdown. It gave me permission to live without needing a daily chemical lobotomy handed out in orange bottles from people who never once asked what I’d actually been through.
Big Pharma wants to keep us sedated The system would rather see us doped up and docile than aware, healing, and connected to the natural world There’s no money in freedom There’s no patent on a plant
We need to stop pretending that PTSD is some fringe issue It’s not just vets It’s survivors It’s kids It’s people like me and maybe like you, walking through life with invisible wounds And we need to start treating this epidemic with something other than shame and prescriptions
Cannabis is medicine Not a crutch Not an escape. A lifeline. So this June, we honor National PTSD Awareness Month by doing more than posting a ribbon. Speak up Fight back Demand access And recognize the sacred plant that’s been helping us survive when no one else would
Cannabis doesn’t erase PTSD, but it quiets the war long enough for the healing to begin.

Acelebration of the people who make the cannabis industry special. It's our living archive of the real ones; those who grind, grow, create, and advocate for the plant, the community, and the culture that surrounds it. It’s about the unsung heroes; the budtender who remembers your name, the cultivator covered in resin, the artist sketching strains into the story. It highlights the growers, patients, advocates, artists, and everyday humans who live and breathe cannabis. Through striking visuals that tell stories, the idea is to capture the soul of our community, one face at a time to feature a snapshot of authenticity, a movement, a mirror, and a love letter to those shaping the future of this space with passion, grit, and dirt under their nails.
