“Most people thought a weekly digital cannabis magazine couldn't be done Then they watched us do it Week after week, one hundred editions deep

One hundred issues of independent journalism, culture, advocacy, science, business, art, photography, plant medicine, and the people who make this community badass. Nearly every week, our team has built a fresh digital magazine from the ground up, often pushing toward 70+ pages while refusing to sacrifice our voice, values or independence.

This 100th edition isn't a victory lap by any means. I think it's simple proof that independent media matters more now than ever, especially in a world where most media is owned by billionaires who care nothing about cannabis, and would rather see us all fail and go away rather than succeed It’s proof that community will always outlast algorithms and that a small group of passionate misfits can build something the industry actually needs and consumers holler for

And since this milestone belongs as much to our team as it does to our readers, we're pulling back the curtain and introducing you to the people behind the publication The staff writers, editors, photographers, designers, dreamers, weirdos, and believers. The people who show up every fucking week to do the work

One hundred issues later and we're still learning, growing, and getting better Our mission hasn't changed at all We’re here to tell great stories, support amazing people, and protect independent media

Welcome to Issue No. 100. The first hundred were just the warm-up

Independent media is resistance. Support it!”

Sasha Nutgent VP of Cannabis Retail

"For more than three decades, Housing Works has been a fixture of New York City by providing housing, healthcare, advocacy and lifesaving services to those affected by HIV/AIDS, homelessness and systemic inequities. Housing Works Cannabis Co is a natural extension of that legacy. As New York's first legal adult-use dispensary and the state's only 100% nonprofit dispensary, every purchase helps support our mission while providing consumers with safe, regulated cannabis products in an environment rooted in dignity, education and harm reduction

At the same time, we're working to support one of the goals at the heart of cannabis legalization: creating opportunities for communities that were disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs. Through workforce development, job training and our commitment to carrying products from BIPOC-owned brands and social equity operators, we're striving to help make the legal cannabis industry more inclusive and accessible. It's one way we hope to continue Housing Works' long tradition of investing in people, strengthening communities and expanding access to resources that can change lives "
