This week, we’re shining a light on someone who rarely steps into it, yet shapes nearly everything you read, see, and feel inside Fat Nugs Magazine

Someone who is equal parts architect, protector, visionary, and warrior for the integrity of this publication. Someone who has taken a scrappy, independent cannabis magazine and, through sheer force of talent, discipline, and creative instinct, turned it into a trusted cultural voice that punches far above its weight

This week, we honor Jessica Reilly-Chevalier, our Editorin-Chief, our narrative compass, our creative anchor, and the badass leader this magazine didn’t just deserve, but desperately needed.

Jessica is a rare blend of power and precision She’s the one insisting that every sentence has purpose, every story has impact, and every edition reflects the culture with honesty and depth Ninety-nine percent of our editorial flows through her hands; not out of obligation, but out of unwavering commitment to greatness She is the fearless defender of the FNM voice, the person who makes sure we never sell out, soften up, or slip into safe territory. If it hits hard, reads clean, and feels intentional, it’s because Jessica demanded that it be so

But what makes Jessica truly unique is that she doesn’t just curate cannabis culture, she lives it Jessica grows and cultivates cannabis the same way she cultivates stories: with patience, intuition, reverence, and grit Her relationship with cannabis is not theoretical or transactional, it’s intimate, experiential, and foundational. It informs her insistence that the stories we tell honor the people and the plant at the center of this community

Creatively, Jessica is a force She’s deeply connected to her art, her writing, and the emotional texture behind everything she creates. She pushes herself constantly, and not because anyone asks her to, but because she refuses to stop evolving She studies, experiments, learns and refines , and brings it all back to the FNM team to fuel our growth

Before joining us, Jessica lived an entire chapter of life that reads like a novel She’s a New Yorker with wanderlust carved into her bones. She and her husband Michael spent a full year living in a van, crossing the country in search of perspective, silence, chaos, beauty whatever the road offered. That journey didn’t just change her geography; it shaped her worldview, sharpened her intuition, and expanded her sense of story It taught her to see people, places, and narratives with a clarity most editors never reach

Today, she calls Taos, New Mexico home. It’s a place of open skies, wild creativity, old magic, and artists who refuse to conform It’s the perfect ecosystem for someone like Jessica: bold, visionary, raw, and deeply rooted in both craft and community

Fat Nugs Magazine would not be what it is without her. Our voice would not be as strong Our standards would not be as high And our stories would not hit as hard So, this week, we honor the mind, the maker, the protector, and the leader behind it all
