New Student Orientation 2023
To kickoff the 2023-2024 school year, we welcomed our new students to Father Ryan during our New Student Orientation last month!

New students had the opportunity to join their House, meet student leaders, tour campus, and start their Father Ryan career with a service opportunity by sorting and preparing winter hats, socks, and gloves for Room in the Inn’s Winter Shelter program.
The theme for this school year is Excellence, and we are so excited to welcome all of our new students to their pursuit of excellence at Father Ryan!

UTK Chancellor Visits Father Ryan |

UTK Announces
Scholarship for

Father Ryan Graduates
Father Ryan’s College Counseling Department hosts frequent college visits throughout the school year to help our students navigate the college search and application process. Students had the opportunity to hear from the Chancellor of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Dr. Donde Plowman, and learn more about the benefits of attending college and discover the opportunities available to them at UT Knoxville. Thank you to Chancellor Plowman for visiting Father Ryan’s campus and connecting with our students!
In addition, Father Ryan supports students throughout their college search process by connecting them with scholarship opportunities. The University of Tennessee Tri-Star Scholarship Program strives to make the UT experience more accessible by creating endowment scholarships for students attending various high schools in the state of Tennessee. We are proud to announce that UT has created a scholarship endowment specifically for Father Ryan High School graduates thanks to the support of Billy Haley '01! Father Ryan is the only private high school in Tennessee that currently participates in this program.
We are thankful for our partnerships with colleges and universities around the country to provide new opportunities for our students!

Student Spotlight:
Chloe Edwards '24

Chloe Edwards '24 had the opportunity to study abroad at Saint-Denis, a boarding school for international students in Loches, France this summer.
Chloe, who has been taking French since seventh grade, was thrilled to be able to immerse herself in the language and culture of France. She met students from all over the world and enjoyed spending time with them outside of class.

Chloe found that school in France was very different from what she was used to in the US, with long days that typically ended around 5:00pm.
Chloe loved her experience and recommends it to anyone who has the opportunity to study abroad. Father Ryan is thankful to offer study abroad opportunities for our students to support their educational experience.
A Tradition of Service

Father Ryan was honored to serve at the Celebration of Life of Father Charlie Strobel '61, Founder of Room in the Inn, by providing bus transportation for Room in the Inn guests to attend the service. The lives impacted by Father Strobel '61 will forever remember the impact his actions had on all of the lives her touched. In all of his life’s pursuits, Father Strobel has embodied the Father Ryan motto in faith, knowledge, and service. He was a living experience of the Gospel and continues to be an example to our students of the importance of taking the teachings of Christ beyond the classroom to serve the community.

Alumni Spotlight: Emma Delevante '14
