Get in the Holiday Spirit at Father Ryan The holidays are right around the corner, and what better way to get in the spirit than with a number of performances at Father Ryan!

Students Raise $149,020 for Cancer Research at Relay For Life Father Ryan's journey with the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life started in 2011 when we hosted our first Relay. Since then, our students and community members have dedicated their time and raised money to bring hope to cancer survivors. Twelve years later, our students have continued the Tradition of Faith, Knowledge, Service by planning and participating in this event, the largest student-led Relay For Life in the nation. Led by 2023 Co-Chairs Joseph Hanrahan '24 and Caroline Meyer '24, we raised $149,020 – pushing our lifetime total to $1.87 million raised for cancer research. The day was full of games and events, fundraising, endless laps around the track, and community members coming together as a reminder that no one experiencing cancer is alone. Our very own Director of Enrollment, Erin (Baltz) Riggs '00, and Father Ryan alumnus and parent John Francescon '79 spoke about how cancer has affected their lives and the importance of the work of our students. We salute our Co-Chairs for their commitment to this event and for leading the entire Relay For Life Committee and student body over the last several months. When asked why they relay, Joseph said he relays to help make a difference so that fewer people have to deal with family members or themselves being affected by cancer. A Relay For Life committee member since Sophomore year, Caroline - Oak House Historian - relays to help build community and bring people together for the fight against the disease. Thank you to all those who offered their time, money, and prayers – we

To celebrate the beginning of Native American Heritage Month, MCSU invited Native American Fancy Dancer Larry Yazzie to share his heritage during break. In honor of Día de los Muertos, members of the Spanish Club held a tapetes drawing contest. A tradition of Latin American people, tapetes are colorful "rugs" that honor people's transition from life to death. After using chalk to draw the tapetes, fellow students voted on their favorite while enjoying pan de muertro from Bakery La Delicia.
