EXCITING CHANGES IN SEATTLE & ALL OUR STORES!

I’ve always thought of fall as a season of great anticipation and excitement. At Marios, that couldn’t be more true than it is for fall 2017.

After a year of planning, designing and dreaming, I can’t wait to share with you the stunning expansion and remodel of what promises to be “the crown jewel” of shopping experiences in Seattle. In women’s you will find a much larger footprint with double the floor space, allowing us to create expanded departments in shoes, handbags, jewelry and contemporary wear, and add some new designer boutiques. In men’s you’ll find a more open footprint, including several new designer shops, new up-and-coming designers and an expanded shoe department.

Exciting additions are afoot in Portland and 3.10 as well! Our Oregonian friends will discover lots of new designers and expanded collections from familiar favorites.

It is our goal that these developments will enable us to offer you more exquisitely curated product selections than ever and serve you better than ever before.

MARIOS SEATTLE

Marios Seattle is located in the iconic Decatur, a building of great historical signficance. The Decatur was built in 1950 by John Graham, Jr. One of Seattle’s most prominent mid-century architects, Graham achieved not only local, but national prominence, and went on to design the Space Needle and other noteworthy buildings.

When envisioning this renovation, it was key that we work with a local design team, one that would add a Pacific Northwest sensibility to the project. Headed by Randy Higgins of Felt Hat, we strove to create an envirnoment that would be welcoming, beautiful and integrate seamlessly with the level of our merchandise and service.

The first step in making this dream a reality was the chance to double our upstairs women’s department, adding 5,000 square feet when the adjoining space became available. This enabled us to expand our women’s offerings, open the space and add dramatic windows. While we didn’t add square footage to our already larger men’s department, we made it feel bigger by taking down walls and reconfiguring it for a more open and dramatic look.

ROSETTA GETTY Rosetta Getty is a brand focused on curating new ideas between wearer/maker and what they mean for construction, process, presentation and collaboration.

Collectability is important in the way they approach design. Specialized pieces, some made completely by hand, are designed to have two sides: coming from the inside out, or front to back. Some, void of trims or closures, are offered in multiple fabrics to let the wearer feel free to interpret.

In the early ’80s, a group of friends on the island of Elba started to assemble belts and bags in natural cowhide and recycled materials. This entertaining pastime took a serious turn and Henry Beguelin was born, but its spirit has never changed: objects crafted by hand with ancient mastery, timeless pieces that are always current because they go beyond the concept of short-lived “fads” to become the expression of real luxury.
