welcome The first thing to say is that the Great Hall is back up and running – complete with studio space, control room, new heating and lighting equipment. It doesn’t mean we have finished, rather that we have completed the latest stage in a 40 year adventure to make the most of these buildings. We are hugely proud of what we have achieved.

All credit to the entire staff team for making it happen on time and within budget.

We have also managed to refurbish the main toilets. And already there are plans to sound proof the Tindle studio, open up the coach house at the museum and develop our partnership with the University.

This is all said in the context of the huge challenges being placed on public investment from local and central government. We need to find different ways of operating, improve our usefulness, extend our reach and change the perceived value of the work we do.

Which is why it is important that we constantly invest in the buildings, improve our services and remain confident in the value of what we do. If you have an idea or want to share a thought please get in touch.

This symbol highlights events that are part of the Arts & Elders programme. Some of these activities are hosted in partnership with other local organisations, and are programmed to better welcome elders and those with dementia into our building. Events range from a singing group to classic film screenings, with a relaxed atmosphere and subsidised tickets to promote accessibility for all.

Visitors are able to enjoy a snack or meal in the Riverside or Foyer before or during events and festivals.

Weave Your Own Chicken

Tickets on sale Sun 28 February Back in 1976 two members of Farnham Lions, who were also members of CAMRA, had the great idea of running a one-off beer festival. With the equally enthusiastic support of the Farnham Maltings the three organisations delivered the first ‘Beerex’ in 1977 and have done so every year since.

Today it is still organised by the same three groups along with over 250 volunteers and lays claim to being the longest running beer festival at the same venue. To date over £750,000 has been raised and distributed by the Farnham Lions to very many good causes and individuals in need of support.

Farnham Maltings was run as a brewery for 229 years and we continue to mark this history throughout the building in rooms such as the Barley Room and the Long Kiln Gallery. It is an honour to host Farnham’s Beerex on this momentous anniversary which continues to celebrate the rich heritage of hop growing and beer production which is key to the history of the town and this building.

This unique building has a variety of different spaces for hire with capacities ranging from 15–500. We can offer ideal accommodation for parties, conferences, workshops and performances. Our in-house caterers are able to provide menus to suit every occasion. The Great Hall, Cellar Bar, Barley Room, Tindle Studio, Tannery and CafĂŠ Bar are fully accessible to wheelchair users via the lift and the Great Hall can accommodate up to five wheelchairs. There is a fully accessible toilet and four dedicated parking spaces. Assistance Dogs (UK) are welcome. If you require assistance to enter and leave the building please bring an able-bodied companion, who will be entitled to a complimentary ticket (subject to availability).
