These trays have been refined over decades of nursery use and are widely adopted by commercial forest nurseries, vegetable and flower producers, and specialist tree growers.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE CELL

Each cell features:

PrimeHort Heat Mats are thermostat-controlled and designed to warm the roots of plants which encourages germination, propagation and growth of seedlings by delivering constant, uniform heat to the base of seed trays and plant pots. Our Heat Mats are energy efficient, making them inexpensive to run. The heating element is laminated in sheets of foil, resulting in even temperatures across the entire surface. No more cold spots or wasted space!

Destackers
Destacker A5
An electronically controlled, electro-pneumatic machine designed to automatically destack packs or pots into shuttle trays with speed and precision. Trays are accurately positioned using mechanical stops, ensuring consistent alignment throughout the destacking process.
The A5 can handle different tray types, including trays with staggered holes, and is configured specifically to suit the packs or pots being processed. With its high production capacity and electronic speed control, it can directly feed seeding or transplanting lines, eliminating unnecessary tray handling and interim storage.

Destacker DC500
An automatic unstacker of plastic trays. Installed directly onto the conveyor belt of a tray filling machine, it supports continuous tray feeding while reducing manual handling. Also suited to retrofitting to existing equipment, offering flexibility to improve automation without replacing current equipment. Bark Topper CA1-TR1
Bark Topper Machine for applying bark/sawdust to the top of potted plants. Normally used in conjunction with a potting machine. The Bark Topper works by turning the pot as it distributes the bark to the top of the pot. This machine is suitable for pots between 16 – 30cm diameter.

Trayfiller RC7-TR5N
The RC7-TR5N handles trays and pots in shuttle trays with fast and uniform filling results. Electronically controlled, operators can fine-tune the speed of the soil distributor, conveyor belt and vibration to achieve the desired substrate density. Excess soil is recovered and returned to the hopper via an integrated conveyor, keeping the process clean and reducing waste.
The machine can feed directly into seeders or transplanters, eliminating manual tray handling and storage.

Seeder LR603
A precision electronic sowing system for delivering highly accurate seed placement and improved germination consistency. The process begins with a dibbler punching a trough for optimal seed positioning. Seed is then held by vacuum on the roller and released from a minimal drop height directly into the trough, ensuring precise placement.
Following sowing, trays are electronically covered with vermiculite and irrigated before being stacked and transferred onto a roller track for collection.
The LR603 column is equipped with three independent seeding units for flexibility and increased efficiency. The I3-P Potting Machine is a popular potting machine for growers.
The 1800L hopper has two fold-down sides (for loading from either side). Soil feed speed can be adjusted via a speed dial according to the soil demand of the pot. It comes with stainless steel soil elevator paddles for long-life wear and tear. Adjustable conveyor belt speed has a tray holder mounted for quick and easy planting. It comes with an automatic pot in-feed conveyor which loads the pot magazine as the machine continues to use its pots.

If nursery trays are not carefully washed and sanitised, plant disease, pests, viruses and other nasties can thrive. By cleaning the trays the next seedlings are given a healthy start. When done manually, tray washing is a slow process and lacks quality control.
The complete Tray Washing line model LC1 is entirely built in stainless steel and is suitable for cleaning seedling trays made in polystyrene, hard plastic and thermoformed plastic (an extra version is available to process hydroponic growing trays to a maximum size of 600 x 1000 mm).
Each tray is moved in a horizontal position by a double transport belt with adjustable speed. Inside the washing tank a minimum of eight high pressure nozzles are positioned, in which at least 2 nozzles are rotating nozzles. Note, the number of nozzles depends on the type of tray
to process. The water is supplied at the nozzles with a pressure between 10-12 bar. The water is continuously recycled through a large external water filter and replaced every 6-8 operating hours. The washing tank is provided with a water input fitting, two drains and an overflow outlet.
A disinfection unit is installed after the drying fan; it holds two fixed nozzles, a collecting basin and recycling pump. All electric devices are fixed in a waterproof stainless steel panel.
For certain uses, it is also possible between the de-stacker and washing tank to fit a shaker to eliminate as much peat and vegetal residues as possible from the tray walls so that the washing and filtering of recycled water is more efficient (this feature is optional). Intensity of shakes and number of shakes can be automatically set on the control board.

The Tray Washer Mini is suitable for virtually all types and sizes of trays.
The Tray Washer Mini is built in 316 marine grade stainless steel, simple to use, and maintenance free.
The tray cleaner has 2 fast rotating spray arms which are driven by a high pressure pump (not included). In a separate chamber the trays can be sterilised with a treatment spray. The continuous moving conveyor belt has special profile (cleats) and (optional) adjustable speed.
