Gulf Oil is one of the largest independently owned companies in the world and the orange disc is one of the most famous brands in the world.

The company was founded in 1901 at the time of the discovery of oil at Spindletop, Texas – one of the original ‘Seven Sisters’ as the major oil companies were called.

Gulf promoted the idea of branded product sales originally by selling gasoline in containers and from pumps marked with the distinctive orange disc logo which enjoys strong brand recognition with people from all parts of the world.

The Gulf brand has remained visible largely due to consistent presentation of the brands core values; care, courage, endurance, inspiration, youth. The youth

In fact, there’s products available to service every market.

Most of the Gulf lubricants to be distributed in Australia will be sourced from the Netherlands blending operation where strict European standards are rigorously adhered to.

Gulf undertakes research work together with independent laboratories and vehicle manufacturers and these results enable the company to meet OEM specifications and gain their official endorsements of its products

Gulf packaging is attractive for retail shelves and the bulk product packaging has been designed for maximum ease of use.

Gulf Distribution

The distribution rights to the Gulf range of products in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands are held by ANZPAC Oils Ltd which is a wholly owned subsidiary of CRT Co-operative.

CRT is a company owned by 26,000 farmer shareholders in New Zealand with a large charge card business, a significant retail network and a fuel distribution business which is the largest independently owned operation in Australasia. Last year, CRT turned over nearly $1.3 billion New Zealand dollars.

In June 2011, the Gulf brand was launched in Auckland, New Zealand for the first time in history. This was followed by a roadshow throughout the South Island of New Zealand to introduce the product range to CRT’s retail customers and staff.

In the North Island a series of racing events were used to profile the brand –even attracting the attention of other world famous icons such as Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason.

With New Zealand distribution and sales tracking well, it is now time to share the Gulf brand with some other areas ANZPAC has the distribution rights to.

Gulf is an opportunity just waiting for Australia to grab.
