The Farm Droid FD20 is a revolutionary solar-powered field robot designed to transform modern agriculture. Utilizing high-precision RTK GPS, it autonomously sows and weeds over 50 crop types, including sugar beets and onions, with pinpoint accuracy down to 8mm. Its eco-friendly design, powered entirely by four solar panels, delivers up to 24 hours of CO₂-neutral operation daily, covering up to 6.5 hectares. The FD20’s innovative seed memory and optional micro-spraying system reduce labor costs and chemical use by up to 94%, making it a sustainable, cost-effective solution for farmers.
The Integrated Air System (IAS) by Geringhoff is designed to reduce crop loss and maximize yield. It features a fully integrated air system that gently blows air through tubes behind the cutter bar, preventing seeds from falling to the ground by directing them to the draper belt. This system is superior to external tube systems as it avoids obstructing crop flow. We designed the IAS for the worldwide market to reduce losses specifically in straight-cut crops like lentils and canola. In Western Canada, we have conducted field testing over the past 4 years and are now ready to expand in the market. We have sold 150 heads, and 80% of these customers have also purchased the integrated air system with their heads.
Threshhold UAV – SwarmBox
Threshold UAV is redefining the future of agricultural drone technology by making swarm autonomy accessible to everyday users. Instead of relying on costly enterprise hardware or unreliable satellite imagery, our software, Swarm Box, harnesses off-theshelf drones through a simple, user-friendly app. With a single operator, entire sections of farmland can be mapped in under 25 minutes — delivering near real-time results that are faster, cheaper, and more reliable than traditional methods. Moreover, the software has endless alternative uses which come in handy in any scenario for all land owners. By putting swarm control into farmers’ hands, Threshold UAV empowers decision-makers to act on accurate data when it matters most — transforming how land is mapped, monitored, and managed.
“Producers are always looking for tools that save time, cut costs, and make farming more sustainable,” says Craig Shaw, Ag Innovations Committee Chair. “The Ag Innovations Competition puts those solutions front and center. Dutch Agriculture is excited to attend Red Deer’s Agri-Trade show for another year of connecting with customers and networking alongside members of the agricultural community. Optimism is at the forefront as Dutch closes the door on another great season and looks forward to the future of expansion and continued success. The final touches are being put on a 14,000 square foot addition to the plant in Pilot Butte with the intention of the majority of opener manufacturing moving over to this part of the building. This assembly line strategy will help production keep up to the consistent and increasing demand from customers and build inventory leading into the busy seasons. Ahead of next spring, Dutch has released an assortment of new products covering multiple drill brands. For the Paralink models, a 1” and 2” spread tip were added to the Ultra Low Disturbance (ULD) series.
Another addition for these drills is the double shoot capable Razor series. This gives producers who wish to move away from midrow banding an option that maintains seeding speed and accurate placement. These openers consistently gain 15-20% seeding speed compared to options existing in the market. A redesign of both inline seeding systems for Vaderstad and Seedmaster focus on lower soil disturbance, lower replacement costs, and a simplified assembly. For single shoot C-shank machines, the innovative one-piece Bandit makes for a simple, economical, low disturbance opener with impressive performance. Dutch Agriculture has taken the opportunity to innovate on past successes and is excited to present them to all the attendees of Agri-Trade or as always, On Farm For You if you are unable to attend the show.
In an era when rising input costs and unpredictable soils threaten farm profitability, Norstar Agriculture is stepping forward with newsworthy innovations that promise both sustainability and stronger yields. Based in Edmonton and serving farmers across Alberta and Saskatchewan, Norstar combines agronomic science with hands-on product solutions to address soil imbalances— from pH issues and salinity to nutrient deficiencies and toxicities.
Backed by a team of traveling sales agronomists, Norstar now offers field soil testing followed by customized plans—moving away from generic treatments toward precision soil care. Farmers can choose among products such as gypsum, humic liquid amendments, and even cement kiln dust to correct pH and ameliorate challenging soil conditions
On the innovation front, Norstar’s ongoing trials are helping validate new combinations of amendments that reduce the need for heavy fertilizer inputs while maintaining—or even boosting—grain yield and quality. Their blog regularly debunks myths (for example, around use of humic acid or cement kiln dust), sheds light on subtle soil science topics, and offers evidencebased advice to farmers.
As Norstar continues its mission—“better soil, better production”—its blend of field-tested solutions, agronomic expertise, and commitment to resource efficiency marks it as an innovator worth watching in Canadian agriculture.
Thunderstruck Ag is making a bold entrance into the Brazilian market, bringing with them their latest innovation, the Razors Edge Concaves. This expansion marks an important milestone for the company, sending a clear message that Brazilian farmers will now gain access to cutting-edge harvest technology previously unavailable in their region.
The Razors Edge Concaves are designed to simplify multi-crop harvesting by eliminating the need to swap out equipment mid-season. Their patentpending variable bar spacing system tightens where threshing stress is highest and opens where material flow is critical. This design helps optimize separation, reduce wear on equipment, and minimize crop loss. Thunderstruck calls this a turning point in threshing performance under pressure.
In a recent interview, Thunderstruck CEO Jeremy Matuszewski confirmed that expanding into Brazil is
Romafa was founded in Arborg, Manitoba, with a simple vision: to provide farmers with durable, innovative parts that keep their equipment running at its best. Over the years, Romafa has built a reputation for precision craftsmanship, dependable products, and a commitment to helping producers maximize efficiency in the field. What began as a small local operation has grown into a trusted name across North America in stainless steel air seeder parts and custom solutions.
One of Romafa’s newer innovations is its stainlesssteel section control system for John Deere air carts, designed to eliminate overlaps, reduce seed and fertilizer waste, and help farmers save money while improving productivity. Building on this success, Romafa has now introduced a new version of section control specifically engineered for Flexi-Coil, Case IH & New Holland air carts,
a strategic move not only for the company but for Brazilian agriculture as a whole, providing growers with greater efficiency, lower downtime, and better returns on harvest operations. The Brazilian launch leverages the product’s proven success in North American markets, where the Razors Edge Concaves have already earned recognition for innovation and reliability.
Above all, Thunderstruck views this step as part of its broader mission: to connect farmers with products that make them more successful on their farms. By entering Brazil, the company aims to support local farmers with tools that address shifting harvest windows, variable crop conditions, and mounting pressure on equipment performance. For Brazilian agriculture, the introduction of Razors Edge Concaves promises a smarter, more flexible harvesting alternative.
ensuring even more producers can benefit from this technology.
In addition, Romafa continues to expand its product line with the launch of stainless-steel tube conveyors compatible with many different brands and models. These conveyors combine strength and reliability with smooth, efficient operation, offering producers a durable alternative that stands up to the toughest conditions season after season.
At the core of everything Romafa does is a dedication to customer satisfaction. The company’s team understands that when equipment runs better, farmers succeed—and that’s what drives every design, every innovation, and every customer interaction. Romafa is more than a parts manufacturer; it’s a partner to farmers, committed to helping them achieve long-term success in the field.
