TEACHING AGRICULTURE AND APPRECIATION FOR GOD’S CREATION

When she’s teaching students at Western Christian High School, Kylie Nettinga often references Colossians 3:23 which says “Work willingly at whatever you do, as for God and not for man,” or as it says in another version: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Kylie said, “A big part of ag education and FFA is learning by doing. The point I try drive home is ‘We wouldn’t be studying any of this if wasn’t for our Creator who created us.’ We wouldn’t get to learn about why it’s important to take care of our soil or why we need to care for animals so we can be fed. Or even why it’s important to know how to do a home improvement project so your future family can be well cared for.”
