Online Registration Many of our activities are available for online registration. Visit our online registration site at farmersbranchliving.com

Register on Time Although participants may still enroll after a class begins,

families are encouraged to enroll in a timely manner. Waiting until the last minute might result in the class you want being full, or if enrollment is low, the class may be canceled.

Registration can be done online, in person, or over the phone.

Community Recreation Center Class Registration

Youth class registration begins February 1 for March, April, and May classes for residents and members. Non-residents who are non-members may register for classes one week prior to the start of each session.

Class Fees and Dates

All class fees are based on a four-week session per month unless otherwise noted.

Classes affected by holidays and other conflicts may be prorated. See instructor or a front desk staff member for details.

Holidays may affect class schedules. Check with a staff member for details.

Class Policies

Only registered participants may enter the activity area. Pre-registration is required for all classes. The enrollment minimum must be met for a class to make. Refunds are available only before a class has started and with approval. To request a refund, contact a front desk staff member. A credit may be issued in place of a refund. Class fees are not prorated based on late enrollment or non-attendance. At the instructor’s discretion, participants may be able to make up a class.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available to qualifying Farmers Branch residents for a variety of activities at the Community Recreation Center and Aquatics Center. See staff for information on how to qualify. A maximum of $100 per child (up to age 18), per fiscal year (OctoberSeptember) may be received. Financial assistance is limited to one class per session, per child. Payment of 50 percent of class fee is due at time of registration. Ask about financial assistance for supplies as well!

Kids Zone Childcare

Childcare is offered for children ages six months to nine years. Kids Zone hours are Monday - Thursday from 9 -11 a.m. | Monday - Thursday 4 - 8 p.m., and Saturdays 7:45 - 10:35 a.m.

The cost of childcare is free to members. Reservations are required by 4 p.m. the business day prior and are limited. Reservations are accepted up to 2 days in advance.

A liability waiver and childcare form must be completed and on file for each child. Every child must be signed in and out each time the child visits Kids Zone.

Parent must remain at the Recreation Center or Aquatics Center while child is in care.

Children may not attend if they are ill. Approved staff/child ratios will be followed. Doors must remain closed when children are present. All personal items must be labeled.

No peanut products allowed. Payment for childcare services is made at the Recreation Center’s front desk prior to entering the Kids Zone.

FREE with Fitness Membership Whether you are looking for the fun of Zumba or the challenge of Indoor Cycling, we offer a Flex Fitness class that meets your needs. Flex Fitness classes are included at no cost with your Fitness membership. Classes do not meet on holidays.

Day passes are available for purchase for non-members. Day passes are valid for any Flex Fitness class and expire at the end of the purchase day. Day passes are available for $5 for residents and non-residents.

Sculpt your hips, thighs, abdomen, and upper body with a variety of aerobics, weights, floor work, and yoga-like stretching.

Why just bike when you can Bike & Burn? This class is the best of both worlds. The first part builds cardiovascular strength and endurance with low-impact, highly efficient indoor cycling. The second half is carefully designed resistance training to boost the metabolism.

The intensity is controlled by the individual so all fitness levels can benefit. The class is limited to 12 participants. No class on the last full week of the month.

Zumba

Youth Programs

Summer Funshine

Summer Funshine is a recreational day camp for children 6-12. The program meets 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. weekdays at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center. Activities include swimming, character development, arts and crafts, fitness programs, and much more. Free breakfast and lunch are provided through the C-FBISD’s Summer Food Service Program when available (check website for updated information). Each participant receives a program t-shirt.

* The Summer Funshine Program meets in accordance with the C-FBISD summer break schedule. Dates are subject to change should C-FBISD alter the academic calendar.

Registration Information - Dates, Prices, Payment Schedule Registration is available online only at fbyouthcamps.com. In-person registration is not accepted. Financial assistance is available on a limited basis to qualifying Farmers Branch families. Proof of residency is required for those seeking the resident rate or financial assistance.

Families with outstanding fees are required to reconcile account balances before registering for the program.

Holiday Craze: Spring Break

March 11 - 15 Resident $130 | Non-resident $160 $60 Resident on Financial Assistance Holiday Craze is a recreational day camp program operated by the Farmers Branch Parks and Recreation Department. Holiday Craze is open to children ages 6 - 12 years. The program meets from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. most weekdays during C-FBISD holiday breaks at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center, located at 14050 Heartside Place. The program includes on-site activities, entertainment, field trips, and much more. Call 972-247-4607 for additional information. Dates are based on the C-FBISD school calendar and are subject to change if the school calendar changes. Registration for the spring session is currently underway online at fbyouthcamps.com.

Teen Leadership Program

The Teen Leadership Program is a recreational and community service based program for teens ages 13 - 15. The program meets 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. weekdays from May 28 - August 7* (excluding July 4) at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center. Activities include volunteering with the Animal Adoption Center, Historical Park, Parks Projects, The Branch Connection, Aquatics Center, and other special projects/events. Other activities include swimming, fitness activities, and themed parties.

Free breakfast and lunch are provided through the C-FBISD’s Summer Food Service Program when available (check website for updated information). Each participant receives a program t-shirt.

BRD Academy Youth Basketball

Ages 4 - 12 $110 member/$114 non-member BRD Academy is a youth basketball development program for boys and girls who are looking to have fun while learning how to play basketball.

Bennett Davison played F.I.B.A. international basketball for 13 years overseas. NCAA National Champion with the 1997 U of Arizona Wildcats. Have your son or daughter being coached by the best.

When it’s really hot or extremely cold outdoors, come indoors to the Farmers Branch rec center and work on your basketball skills with friends.

Swim Lessons The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center offers a variety of swim lessons for a wide range of ages and abilities. Below is a list of session dates, times, and prices. Not all levels are offered at all times.

All participants must be registered before entering the swim area. Guests not potty trained must wear a swim diaper.

Historical Park Girl Scout Birthday Bash: Celebrating 112 Years of Girl Scouting

Thursday | March 14 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. (come & go) $20 per person (adults and children 4 and under free); non-refundable. Space is limited and registration required.

Join the Farmers Branch Historical Park for a morning celebration, crafts, SWAPS, and more.

Registration includes the Girl Scout Birthday Bash patch! Please bring one of the following items for donation to our birthday box project benefiting Metrocrest Services; cake mix, icing, candles, napkins, plates, tablecloths, party horns, party decorations, and party prizes. Several badge requirement opportunities available.

4th Annual Bookmark Contest: Out of this World

All month | Mar 1 - 31 | Free In honor of the Total Solar Eclipse this year, patrons of all ages are invited to submit an original bookmark design to go along with this year’s theme: Out of this World.

A library card is not needed to use the seed library. Patrons need only to complete a membership form to record their selections and “checkout” seeds. Patrons interested in checking out a gardening kit will be able to do so for one week (with one renewal). One kit per Farmers Branch Adult Resident in good standing.

Entry forms will be available at the Library starting March 1st. All entries will be displayed in the Library during National Library Week (April 7 - 13) and a winner from each age group will be selected by the Farmers Branch Arts and Culture Committee.
