Register on Time Although participants may still enroll after a class begins, families are encouraged to enroll in a timely manner. Waiting until the last minute might result in the class you want being full, or if enrollment is low, the class may be canceled. Registration can be done online, in person, or over the phone.
Youth class registration begins February 1 for March, April and May classes for residents and members*. Non-residents who are non-members may register for classes one week prior to the start of each session. *Excluding gymnastics. Please see page 13 for more information about gymnastics registration.
All class fees are based on a four-week session per month unless otherwise noted. Classes affected by holidays and other conflicts may be prorated. See instructor or a front desk staff member for details.
Holidays may affect class schedules. Check with a staff member for details. Cash, checks, American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa are accepted as forms of payment.
Only registered participants may enter the activity area. Registration is required for all classes. The enrollment minimum must be met for a class to make. Refunds are available only before a class has started and with approval. To request a refund, contact a front desk staff member. A credit may be issued in place of a refund. Class fees are not prorated based on late enrollment or non-attendance. At the instructor’s discretion, participants may be able to make up a class.
Financial assistance is available to qualifying Farmers Branch residents for a variety of activities at the Community Recreation Center and Aquatics Center. See staff for information on how to qualify. A maximum of $100 per child (up to age 18), per fiscal year (OctoberSeptember) may be received. Financial assistance is limited to one class per session, per child. Payment of 50 percent of class fee is due at time of registration. Ask about financial assistance for supplies as well!
Childcare is offered for children ages six months to nine years. Kids Zone hours are Monday and Wednesday 9 - 11 a.m. | Monday-Thursday 5:30 - 8 p.m. Saturdays 7:45 - 10:35 a.m.
The cost per child is $2 per visit. There is a two-hour maximum stay. Reservations are required by 4 p.m. the business day prior and are limited. Reservations are accepted up to two days in advance.
A liability waiver and childcare form must be completed and on file for each child. Every child must be signed in and out each time the child visits the Kids Zone.
Parent must remain at the Recreation Center or Aquatics Center while child is in care. Children may not attend if they are ill. Approved staff/child ratios will be followed. Doors must remain closed when children are present. All personal items must be labeled. No peanut products allowed. Payment for childcare services is made at the Recreation Center’s front desk prior to entering the Kids Zone.

Holiday Craze is open to children ages 6-12 years. Activities include volunteering with the Animal Adoption Center, Historical Park, Parks Projects, The Branch Connection, Aquatics Center, and other special projects/events. The Branch Connection is an Active Adult Center that provides dances, fitness, art, crafts computer, books and classes. Our facility offers a fitness room, board games, puzzles, cards, billiards, table tennis, educational seminars and bingo as part of our amenities. With over 22,400 square footage and individual rooms, our facility and programs are geared toward meeting the physical, mental, social, and emotional needs for individuals 50 years of age and better.
The Branch Connection is open to anyone 50 years of age or older. A variety of activities and special events are offered to promote fun, fellowship and health.

In 2023 The Branch Connection will undergo a renovation that will bring a sophisticated new interior to the facility. Updates will include a new entry, updated game room, theatre room and coffee bar. The renovation will cost approximately $2.5 million and is funded through federal American Rescue Plan Act.
The renovation is expected to take 4-6 months to complete. During that timeframe a select number of TBC programs will continue to be offered at alternate locations. Due to the changing nature of the garden, the City is not able to guarantee or predict when the roses are in bloom. Rental of the garden includes electricity and a beautiful setting to create your unique event. All rentals at the garden are of a non- exclusive nature. Rental of the garden does not mean exclusive use of the entire garden area or surrounding park areas. The Historical Park is a wildly-popular wedding and reception venue. The Park is also a frequently used site for engagement and family photos. Facilities available to rent are the 1890s Church, 1937 Dodson
House, Gazebo, Rose Garden within the Historical Park, and the site grounds. There are different photo and rental package options. For additional information, contact the Historical Park at 972-406-0184.
The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center has a 480 square foot indoor party room available for rent, year-round. The party room includes tables and chairs. The Aquatics Center also has two large outdoor pavilions for rent, year-round. Both the Margaret Young Natatorium and the Frog Pond* are available for after-hours rentals. Rentals include full use of the rented facility, along with lifeguard staff to accommodate the party. The Branch Connection offers a variety of rental space for parties, weddings, corporate functions and more. The Center’s 5,000 square foot ballroom features beautiful wood flooring, high ceilings, adjustable lighting and a stage. Other noteworthy spaces include a cozy outdoor courtyard, and the spacious, well-equipped commercial kitchen, perfect for on-site catering.
