Online Registration Many of our activities are available for online registration. Visit our online registration site at farmersbranchliving.com

Register on Time Although participants may still enroll after a class begins,

families are encouraged to enroll in a timely manner. Waiting until the last minute might result in the class you want being full, or if enrollment is low, the class may be canceled.

Registration can be done online, in person, or over the phone.

Community Recreation Center Class Registration

Youth class registration begins October 1 for November, December and January classes for residents and members. Non-residents who are non-members may register for classes one week prior to the start of each session.

Class Fees and Dates

All class fees are based on a four-week session per month unless otherwise noted.

Classes affected by holidays and other conflicts may be prorated. See instructor or a front desk staff member for details.

Holidays may affect class schedules. Check with a staff member for details.

The Community Recreation Center, Aquatics Center, and The Branch Connection participate in the following programs:

Class Policies

Only registered participants may enter the activity area. Pre-registration is required for all classes. The enrollment minimum must be met for a class to make. Refunds are available only before a class has started and with approval. To request a refund, contact a front desk staff member. A credit may be issued in place of a refund. Class fees are not prorated based on late enrollment or non-attendance. At the instructor’s discretion, participants may be able to make up a class.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available to qualifying Farmers Branch residents for a variety of activities at the Community Recreation Center and Aquatics Center. See staff for information on how to qualify. A maximum of $100 per child (up to age 18), per fiscal year (OctoberSeptember) may be received. Financial assistance is limited to one class per session, per child. Payment of 50 percent of class fee is due at time of registration. Ask about financial assistance for supplies as well!

Kids Zone Childcare

Childcare is offered for children ages six months to nine years. Kids Zone hours are Monday - Thursday from 9 - 11 a.m. Monday-Thursday 4 - 8 p.m., and Saturdays 7:45 - 10:35 a.m.

The cost of childcare is free to members. Reservations are required by 4 p.m. the business day prior and are limited. Reservations are accepted up to 2 days in advance.

A liability waiver and childcare form must be completed and on file for each child. Every child must be signed in and out each time the child visits Kids Zone.

Parent must remain at the Recreation Center or Aquatics Center while child is in care.

Children may not attend if they are ill. Approved staff/child ratios will be followed. Doors must remain closed when children are present. All personal items must be labeled.

No peanut products allowed. Payment for childcare services is made at the Recreation Center’s front desk prior to entering the Kids Zone.

FREE with Fitness Membership Whether you are looking for the fun of Zumba or the challenge of Indoor Cycling, we offer a Flex Fitness class that meets your needs. Flex Fitness classes are included at no cost with your Fitness membership. Classes do not meet on holidays.

Day passes are available for purchase for non-members. Day passes are valid for any Flex Fitness class and expire at the end of the purchase day. Day passes are available for $5 for residents and non-residents.

We also offer a variety of premium fitness classes. These classes are not a part of the Flex Fitness program and require fees according to the class.

Improve your range of motion, strength and flexibility with this mobility focused class that incorporates mindful movement practices that you’ll recognize from Pilates, yoga and barre.

Sculpt your hips, thighs, abdomen, and upper body with a variety of aerobics, weights, floor work and yoga-like stretching. Class limited to 25 participants.

Bike N Burn

Tuesday & Thursday | 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Saturday | 9 - 10 a.m.

Why just bike when you can Bike & Burn? This class is the best of both worlds. The first part builds cardiovascular strength and endurance with low-impact, highly efficient indoor cycling.

The second half is carefully designed resistance training to boost the metabolism. The intensity is controlled by the individual so all fitness levels can benefit. The class is limited to 12 participants. No class on the last full week of the month.

Zumba

Dance your way to fitness! Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music that includes dance movements of meringue, salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, hip-hop, and more. You do not have to know how to dance to Zumba! Class limited to 25 participants.

Holiday Craze

Holiday Craze is open to children ages 6 - 12 years (as of December 20, 2023 for the winter session). The program meets from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center on non-Federal school holidays during CFBISD’s Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring breaks. The program includes on-site entertainment, field trips, sports and fitness, holiday-themed activities and parties, and character development. Registration for all sessions is currently underway. Ages 6 and Up $500 per month (with an option to pay $250 bi-weekly) From beginners to advanced basketball players, we provide comprehensive skill development as well as essential strength and condition from certified and degreed professionals.

Athletes will also receive training on the Vertimax system to improve speed, power, explosiveness, and vertical jumping administered by certified Vertimax trainers.

The program prides itself on high-quality gymnastics, along with a fun and friendly atmosphere. Texas Dynamix is a popular and well-respected gymnastics provider in the metroplex. They are so excited to expand to Farmers Branch and cannot wait to get to know the kids and the community.

If your child has a membership at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center they are eligible to receive a $4 discount per class. Please email elianna.vazques@farmersbranchtx.gov to verify your membership and receive the discount code.

The program allows for 5 hours per week of training or 20 hours per month. The time is allotted to solidify skill and strength development for participants which is achieved through high quality reps and program intensity. Santa Makes House Calls December 12 - 24 $30 for Rec Center Members / $34 for Non-members Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center

Santa will visit your home to deliver gifts to your children (gifts provided in advance by parents).

Visits are 15 minutes long and Santa enters through the front door. Timeslots range from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Limited to a five-mile radius of the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center.

Resident reservations begin November 1. Non-resident reservations begin November 26.

Letters To Santa November 10-December 8 | Free Make this holiday season extra special for your kiddos with Letters to Santa.

The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center has teamed up with the North Pole to make sure all those precious letters to Santa get straight to him. Have your kids write a letter to Santa Claus, and they will get a personalized letter back from Santa himself! Just remember to pop in a return address, their Christmas must-haves, and a little something about them.

Swim Lessons The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center offers a variety of swim lessons for a wide range of ages and abilities. Below is a list of session dates, times, and prices. Not all levels are offered at all times.

Experience the life of girls from the American Frontier, the Victorian Era, the roaring 1920s, the hopping 1950s, and ending with a groovy 1970s festival. Camp activities include cooking, baking, specialty crafts, outdoor nature walks, and lots more. This award-winning camp will explore the impact girls have made throughout American history! A snack will be provided. Please bring a sack lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer to camp each day. Price includes all materials. Camp will begin outdoors and rotate between several structures during the afternoon. Camper drop off and pick-up in the Historical Park parking lot.

Girl Scout Patch Workshop: Baking Basics 101

Ages 12 & older | Free January 17 - February 29 Display your artistic talents in our Tiny Art Show! Pick up a mini artist kit through Sunday, December 31st and return it to the library by Friday, January 5th to be part of the exhibit.

The exhibit will run from Wednesday, January 17th through the end of February.

The mini artist kit includes: a 3"x3" canvas and easel, brushes, and a small form to tell us about the inspiration behind your painting. A limited number of kits will also include a mini palette and acrylic paint in case you do not have paint at home.

• Open to patrons 12 years and older.

• You may use your own painting supplies, if you’d like.

• Art pieces must be brought to the Library by January 5 to be included in the exhibit.

• Art will be returned to artists after the art show.

A library card is not needed to use the seed library. Patrons need only to complete a membership form to record their selections and “checkout” seeds. Highlights: All-inclusive one-of-a-kind playground that will glow at night. Will include a fenced in tot area, zip line, spin zone, glow seating and more.

Highlights: Wildlife viewing rest points, pond boardwalk, enhanced entry.

Location: John F. Burke Nature Preserve, 1111 Valley View Lane Current Status: Open

Highlights: Updates to the interior of a facility to include a new theater room, sophisticated entry, upgraded game room and more.

Location: The Branch Connection, 14055 Dennis Lane Current Status: Currently in the final stages of design and development of construction documents. Construction in 2023 Estimated Completion: Spring 2025

Highlights: New park to include pickleball, tennis, basketball, walking trails, a playground, and shaded picnic tables.

Location: Near Chartwell Crest and Wittington Place Current Status: The site developer is nearly complete with grading the area to create level, usable space.

Estimated Completion: Fall 2024

Highlights: Sand Volleyball Courts with lights and 4 cabanas with bluetooth speakers; Phase 2 to include pickleball courts and soccer field upgrades.

Highlights: Converted old hockey rink replaced with synthetic turf field; Phase 2 to include a new pavilion and play structure.
