Although participants may still enroll after a class begins, families are encouraged to enroll in a timely manner. Waiting until the last minute might result in the class you want being full, or if enrollment is low, the class may be canceled. Registration can be done online, in person or over the phone.
Youth class registration begins November 1 for December, January and February classes for residents and members*. Non-residents who are non-members may register for classes one week prior to the start of each session. *Excluding gymnastics. Please see page 11 for more information.
All class fees are based on a four-week session per month unless otherwise noted. Classes affected by holidays and other conflicts may be prorated. See instructor or a front desk staff member for details. Holidays may affect class schedules. Check with a staff member for details. Cash, checks, American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa are accepted as forms of payment.
Only registered participants may enter the activity area. Pre-registration is required for all classes. The enrollment minimum must be met for a class to make. Refunds are available only before a class has started and with approval. To request a refund, contact a front desk staff member. A credit may be issued in place of a refund. Class fees are not prorated based on late enrollment or non-attendance. At the instructor’s discretion, participants may be able to make up a class.
Financial assistance is available to qualifying Farmers Branch residents for a variety of activities at the Community Recreation Center and Aquatics Center. See staff for information on how to qualify. A maximum of $100 per child (up to age 18), per fiscal year (October-September) may be received. Financial assistance is limited to one class per session, per child. Payment of 50 percent of class fee is due at time of registration. Ask about financial assistance for supplies as well.
Childcare is offered for children ages six months to nine years. Kids Zone hours are: Monday and Wednesday 9 - 11 a.m. | Monday-Thursday 5:30 - 8 p.m. Saturdays 7:45 - 10:35 a.m. (The Kid Zone is not available on Saturday, December 10) The cost per child is $2 per visit. There is a two-hour maximum stay. Reservations are required by 4 p.m. the business day prior and are limited. Reservations are accepted up to two days in advance.
A liability waiver and childcare form must be completed and on file for each child. Every child must be signed in and out each time the child visits the Kids Zone.
Parent must remain at the Recreation Center or Aquatics Center while child is in care. Children may not attend if they are ill. Doors must remain closed when children are present. All personal items must be labeled. No peanut products are allowed. Payment for the child care services is made at the Recreation Center’s front desk prior to entering the Kids Zone.

Holiday Craze is a recreational day-camp program for children ages 6-12. Summer Funshine is a recreational day camp program for children 6-12. The program meets on weekdays from 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center. The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center offers a variety of swim lessons for a wide range of ages and abilities. Below is a list of session dates, times and prices. Not all levels are offered at all times. All participants must be registered before entering the swim area. Guests not potty trained must wear a swim diaper.
Group Swim Lessons are for ages six months to 12 years, including Parent-Tot, Preschool Levels 1-3, Youth Levels 1-4, Youth Stroke Refinement and Youth Aquatic Conditioning. Adult swim lessons are also offered as well.

The Branch Connection is an Active Adult Center that provides dances, fitness, art, crafts computer, books and classes. Our facility offers a fitness room, board games, puzzles, cards, billiards, table tennis, educational seminars and bingo as part of our amenities. With over 22,400 square footage and individual rooms, our facility and programs are geared toward meeting the physical, mental, social, and emotional needs for individuals 50 years of age and better.

Let’s make a King Cake just in time for Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday! Kids will learn the history and fun of Mardi Gras as they bake and decorate a traditional King cake using a cinnamon roll dough.
