It’s National Preparedness Month

SIGN UP TO RECEIVE EMERGENCY ALERTS FROM THE CITY

September marks National Preparedness Month, a time when the Federal Emergency Management Agency launches a nationwide initiative to help Americans ready themselves for emergencies and disasters. The unpredictability of disasters underscores the importance of planning ahead. To be prepared, the Farmers Branch Office of Emergency Management offers these tips.

Build a Kit: Everyone should have an emergency supply kit that has enough food, water and supplies to last you and your household three to seven days.

Make a Plan: Talk with your family about what you would do in an emergency situation and determine how you will contact one another if you are separated.
