PARTICIPANTS WILL SHADOW LIFEGUARDS & SWIM INSTRUCTORS

The Aquatics Center is currently offering two youth camps, Junior Lifeguard and Junior Swim Instructor, at a discounted price through the Water.Adventure.Leader.Knowledge program. The first week, participants will learn basic lifeguarding skills and responsibilities, followed by a week of learning the proper techniques of teaching swim lessons.

Participants must be between ages 11 and 14 and pass a basic swimming skills test prior to registration. You can currently sign up for both camps at the special rate of $110 for members and $140 for non-members. To learn more, visit fbh2o.com.

This season, remember to practice the four d’s to protect yourself against mosquitoes.

DRAIN standing water in your backyard and neighborhood, change out pet water and bird baths daily, and treat swimming pools.

Stay indoors at DUSK & DAWN when mosquitoes are most active.

When outdoors, DRESS in light-colored clothing with long sleeves, long pants and closed-toe shoes to cover your skin, as well as wear an EPA-registered insect repellent.

DEFEND your home against mosquitoes by keeping doors and windows closed or by using screens that fit tightly with no holes.
