The Painesville Railroad Museum is at 475 Railroad St. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children (3 to 12) and $12 for a family (max two adults, three children).

Warther museum added to US historical register

DOVER, Ohio — The Ernest Warther Museum and Gardens has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which demonstrates preservation for places of historical significance and/or great artistic value.

Being recognized at a national level as well as a state level speaks volumes to the major artist Ernest “Mooney” Warther is, and the impact he had not only on the city of Dover, but also to the state of Ohio and the nation.

The recognition arrived just as the museum marked 50 years since Mooney Warther’s passing.
