Mahoning Valley Historical Society recognizes preservation projects

Each year, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society recognizes those who work diligently to preserve historical landmarks of our community. This year, MVHS recognized five projects in which buildings have been renovated, preserved and adapted to show their uniqueness and importance to the Mahoning Valley.

The 2023 Commercial Revitalization Award went to Penguin City Brewing Co. for the preser- vation and remodeling of their Youngstown brewery.

The 2023 Community Revitalization Awards went to the following projects:

• Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation, for their preservation and renovation of an apartment building at 3711 Glenwood Ave.

• Henry H. Stambaugh Auditorium Association, for the preservation of their Monumental Staircase.
