Do not let differences tear us apart

Using the humor of overgeneralization, it was said that legalization of alcohol sales was summarized as “The Baptists and the bootleggers versus the Presbyterians and the liquor industry.” respect the Roman law, for it provided peace, safety and good roads, clean water and a sewer system for the public wellbeing. They were to express and share their faith in word and by how they lived.

Matthew 5:3,5-7.

Adair County, Kentucky, was traditionally dry. Its voters forbade the sale of alcoholic beverages within its borders. The alcohol sales called the “Option” was revisited every so many years.

People of different Christian denominations came down on both sides of the issue, as did the liquor and brewing industries and the bootleggers.
