2017 TCU Titans Graduation Ceremony ‌ Come One, Come All! That magical evening for our Tri-City United High School Seniors is just around the corner. On Friday, May 26 at 7 p.m., these incredible young adults will be honored with welcome and send off speeches from their peers, words to ponder from administration, will get to shake the hands of TCU ISD #2905 School Board and administrative team members, and complete their PreK-12 educational journey by walking across that GREAT stage to accept their diplomas oneby-one.

The culmination of graduating from high school is one of life’s BIGGEST events!

Come out on this beautiful Friday evening to honor and congratulate these Titan young people. Members of the communities and surrounding areas of Le Center, Lonsdale, and Montgomery are welcome and encouraged to attend this final send-off for these Titans as they move to alumni status from TriCity United High School, the Graduating Class of 2017.

It is highly suggested that people park in the lots at the TCU Montgomery PreK-8 school and board the free Palmer Bus Service shuttle bus that will start shuttling people over to the high school at 6:10 p.m. and run continuously between the two buildings until 7 p.m.

trip back and forth after the ceremony is complete until all riders have been shuttled back to the TCU Montgomery PreK-8 site.Feedback from riders who used the shuttle service in past years has been very positive due to not having to maneuver a vehicle through hundreds of cars and trucks leaving the TCU HS parking lots after the ceremony, nor finding a place to park before it begins.

The shuttle loads at the TCU Montgomery PreK-8 building on Second Street outside of the Palmer Bus Service garage and drops off at the main doors at the high school; which is also where riders will board the shuttle bus after the ceremony as well. Palmer Bus Service is donating this shuttle service time and driver for the evening to the school district; which is greatly appreciated and shows their commitment to TCU! Each soon-to-be Titan graduate was given eight tickets that they can disperse and share with parents/ guardians, family, relatives, and/or friends. Those with a

Tri-City United High School Commencement Ceremony Class of 2017

ticket in hand will be allowed to enter the TCU HS Gym from 6:20 to 6:40 p.m. to find their seat of choice. At 6:40 p.m. everyone with or without a ticket -- no ticket needed -- will be allowed in the gym to fill up the seats.

Both bleacher sides will hold around 600 people, and there will also be some public seating (about 100 chairs) on the gym floor behind the robed Tri-City United School District faculty. This gives us roughly 1300 seats for parents/guardians, relatives, friends, community members and the public in general for the ceremony.

There are wheel chair cutouts in row one of the westside bleachers that people with mobility challenges are free to use as well. First priority would be for people in a wheelchair. The ceremony will also be streamlined “live� on The Cube.

Thank you to all of you who have supported, educated, worked with, and challenged these Titan young people through their educational years of schooling; and through their first 18 years of life.

The members of the TCU HS Class of 2017 have come full circle and are ready to move forward into the next phase of their young lives!

Tri-City United also recognizes athletes who have lettered in three sports their senior year of high school.

Athletes must not have any Minnesota State High School League violation.

Each received a plaque in recognition of their accom-

plishment.

The head coaches of all sports then vote for one male and female athlete to be recipients of the Tri-Athlete “Athlete of the Year” award.

That went to Joslyn Vargo, daughter of Jill Vargo, and Taylor Jackson, son of Troy and Anna Jackson.

At the annual Honor’s Night, which was held on May 17, students are rewarded for their hard work with scholarships, awards and accolades.

Two of the awards go to students who excel in the fine arts programs. The Tri-

Artist Awards recognizes students who have lettered in three fine arts programs during their senior year of high school. These students must not have had any violations from the Minnesota State High School League.

The head advisors of all

the fine arts programs also vote for one male and one female to be recipients of a second Tri-Artist Award.

Both of the awards went to Megan Erickson, daughter of Kevin and Jill Erickson, and Kyle Yetzer, son of Mike and Barb Yetzer.

MRC Academic All-Conference Awards The Minnesota River Conference recognizes students who excel in the classroom and the athletic field by awarding students/athletes with the MRC Academic AllConference Awards.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have earned a minimum of four varsity letters in grades 9 to 12 in an MRC sponsored activity. They must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher throughout his/her high school career.

They must not have received any violations from the

Minnesota State High School league during their high school career in grades 9 to 12.
