Far Hills Country Day School champions both academic excellence and emotional intelligence, challenging students to think independently and achieve confidently. Starting in preschool, students are wholly supported by a tight-knit school community as they achieve at the highest levels while developing a lifelong love of learning through challenging academics and character development.

An expansive 54-acre campus with woodlands, a ropes course, and a pond provides students with opportunities to learn beyond the walls of the classroom. This extension of the educational environment fosters independence and contributes to excellence in academics, emotional selfawareness, and distinction in the arts and athletics.

At Far Hills, students are empowered to grow inward, outward, and upward and graduate prepared to lead at the country’s most competitive secondary schools. When they arrive, they are well prepared and exhibit strength of character in all areas of the secondary school experience from the classroom to the fields to the stage.

Teachers are invested in their students, meeting them where they are to develop their unique strengths and challenge them in their areas of growth.

Teachers are committed to their students—implementing research-based teaching strategies like mind-brain education, embracing emerging technology, embodying character-building skills, and participating in professional development opportunities—all to enhance every student’s educational experience.

Recognized as an essential life skill, public speaking starts in Preschool. Far Hills teaches the critical technical skills of public speaking and provides 85+ opportunities to improve. As a result, students find power in their voices and hone their ability to express themselves.
