Meet Local Fargo Artists

HANNAH STELTER

Meet Hannah Stelter: founder of Scribble Lady, professional artist, aerialist, and self-love advocate. Hannah has been creating her entire life, but it wasn’t until she took some classes at Minnesota State University Moorhead that she truly leaned into being an artist. During the pandemic, she drew almost every day and began building an online following and her own art style. She also discovered Aerial arts, which became her second love! As a multidisciplinary artist, first and foremost, Hannah draws and paints. You can find her art at events like Unglued Craft Fest as well as at her own gallery and supply store in Downtown Fargo called Scribble Lady at 408 Broadway N, Fargo.

At Scribble Lady, their goal is to encourage everyone to embrace imperfection while representing artists who have a mission to create fun. Scribble Lady sells gifty things designed by local artists, art supplies that come with beginner-friendly tutorials, and hosts events on-site.

Hannah’s favorite part of being in the arts in FargoMoorhead is how supportive the community is of the arts. Through shopping small and hiring local talent and highlighting artists at farmers markets, night bazaars, and Unglued Markets, there is never a shortage of ways to get involved with the local art community.

Fun Fact: Scribble Lady also has a hidden art gallery with rotating exhibitions and occasional events (you’ll have to drop in to figure out how to enter the secret gallery). Scan the code to see events.

SONJA BOSCA-HARASIM

Meet Sonja Bosca-Harasim: violinist/violist, professor, bowling aficionado, coffee enthusiast, newly a mom of two. Sonja thanks her parents for getting her into the arts, since birth, both of her parents sang to her and instilled a love for music. As a toddler, Sonja eventually started singing along and became interested in joining dance classes at age 3. She attended a music magnet school in Houston, TX where she learned the Suzuki violin method in group classes and private lessons. In fifth grade, Sonja discovered her love for chamber music when her and her friends formed a quartet called “The Classics of ‘83” and played at various events around town.

You can see Sonja at a wide variety of events throughout Fargo-Moorhead, whether it is performing a Masterworks or Symphony Rocks concert with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony, performing in the pit for an opera production with Fargo-Moorhead Opera, at various venues around town, or a faculty recital at Concordia.

Sonja’s favorite part of the arts community in FargoMoorhead is that the performing and visual arts are alive and thriving. She says it’s a thrill to be part of such a creative community and she gains so much inspiration in collaborations with other artists in the region.

“I love the many opportunities to share music that is impactful to me and chat after a concert with our many curious and engaged concertgoers,” says Sonja, “Fargo-Moorhead has so much to offer - some days, the trickiest part is narrowing down plans because there are so many interesting things to do!”
