As one of Salt Lake County’s largest north-south corridors, Bangerter Highway moves an average of 58,000 vehicles per day, and traffic is expected to grow to an estimated 95,000 vehicles a day by 2040. Originally designed as a limited access expressway, Bangerter Highway’s current set of traffic signals at intersections causes significant congestion not only for north-south traffic, but also for traffic on the east-west cross streets. Trilon’s partner firm, Horrocks, has been serving as the Program Manager for this corridor for more than 10 years to convert the intersections into grade-separated interchanges. The completed interchanges have been delivered using DB and PDB processes. Horrocks’ services have included environmental documentation; survey; Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE); third-party coordination; ROW design and acquisition; preliminary design and design oversight for structures, roadway, traffic/ MOT, and drainage; procurement documents for DB or PDB and selection assistance; project controls; public involvement; construction oversight; and postconstruction services.

175 PARK AVENUE: GRAND CENTRAL STATION TRANSIT IMPROVEMENTS The 175 Park project, previously known as Commodore, will demolish the existing Hyatt hotel at the east side of Grand Central Terminal and construct a mixed-use tower totaling approximately two million square feet of office and hotel space. Standing 1,500-foot tall, 175 Park stands to be the tallest building in the country by roof level. Due to the presence of the NYCT Lexington Avenue subway station and Metro-North loop tracks beneath the site, the project involves extensive coordination with MTA agencies and the installation of large new foundations that must bridge, straddle, or pass through active transit infrastructure. As the MTA’s Prime Project Management Consultant (PMC), Artheon (NAIK) represents the agency in overseeing the developer’s delivery of transit improvements required under its zoning bonus obligations. From schematic design through final contract documents, the team guides the developer’s design team in consultation with the MTA. Drawing on extensive knowledge of MTA standards and guidelines, Artheon provides guidance across engineering and architectural disciplines, facilitates coordination, and helps maintain compliance with MTA stakeholder requirements.
