Multi-Sport Camps

Gymnastics

If you are looking to keep your children active for half a day, a full day or even a full week, the Multi-Sports Camp is for you. Led by experienced coaches and leaders, the children will be entertained and active! Our camp will give the children a taste of activities such as basketball, football, tennis, dancing and swimming and games.

Multi-sport camps will run as follows:

Tennis Coaching Holiday Camps

Come along to play, improve and most importantly have fun! Perfect for beginners as well as budding Andy Murrays. Hosted at Zetland and Dollar Park all weather Tennis courts, your child will receive plenty of coach attention, playing and court time. The sessions are designed to develop the fundamental skills such as balance, coordination, agility and movement. For the more advanced participants, there will be a greater focus on the technical aspects, helping participants to develop their game.

Swimming

Swim Intensive: Small intensive 30 minute classes for children, catering for complete beginners to children looking to improve their technique. One to one: Available for individuals looking for dedicated teaching. These classes are useful for complete beginners and for any swimmer looking to improve confidence, skills and technique. Water Polo: Learn the basics of water polo, covering water polo swimming strokes, leg kick, throwing and catching in the water. Suitable for children who are confident swimmers in deep water. Synchronised Swimming: Learn gymnastics and dance in the water accompanied to music and learn a routine! Suitable for children who are confident swimmers in deep water. Diving: Learn how to dive from our new 1 metre platforms following the first stage of the diving programme where basic diving skills are taught from poolside; including deep water confidence, jumping, rolling, head first diving & developmental shallow water skills.

Parks Don’t forget you can enjoy the sunshine with a walk in our parks. Callendar Park Callendar Park offers a new Natural Play Trail, for kids big or small; keep your eyes peeled for the Roman Snails and magical woodland doors hidden round the route. There’s also a play area and a range of paid for summer activities including bouncy castles and mini zorbing! Both the Park Kiosk and Callendar House Tearoom provide welcome refreshments after a run around the park.

Helix Park At the Helix Park you’ll find an Adventure Zone play park and Splash Play area which provide endless hours of fun. Ice creams and snacks are available at the Plaza Café.

Kinneil Estate Kinneil Estate is a historic park with a new mountain bike practice area, improved play facilities, miles of paths and a local museum to enjoy. Also look out for Open Day events at Kinneil House run by the Friends of Kinneil.

Libraries Summer Activities This summer libraries are packed with amazing activities to spark the imagination and inspire creation! There’s so much going on we don’t have room to list them all! Mischief Makers Summer Reading Challenge Dennis, Gnasher and their gang are hunting for buried treasure. Can you help them find it? Sign up to the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland, collect your Beanotown map and, as you borrow books, you’ll collect clue stickers and special prizes. Finish the Challenge to claim rewards including a medal, certificate, free swim and free child’s pass to Blair Drummond Safari Park! The Summer Reading Challenge is for anyone age 4 and up. Just read 6 books over at least three visits to the library to complete.

Grangemouth Golf Course Grangemouth Golf Course is a family friendly venue where you and your kids can brush up on your game and improve your handicaps this summer. We have a Junior Summer School taking place in August, contact the pro shop on 01324 503840 for more details. The course offers a two tee start option so for anyone just starting to play golf, or those with less time looking to play only 3,6,9 and 18 holes this can be easily arranged. Pay and Play rates are very reasonable and we often offer discounts and promotions so please visit our web page, or follow us on Facebook by joining the Grangemouth Golf Course group. Lessons are available from our resident professional who is experienced at coaching members of all ages, and equipment can be supplied for anyone coming for lessons.

Hippodrome Cinema We will be showing a selection of the best new and recent and new releases throughout the summer holidays, with extra day-time screenings while the kids are off school, including The Incredibles 2 and Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. Don’t forget our tasty treats packages bookable in advance on line or over the phone – for £3 kids can choose from a selection of drinks, small freshly popped popcorn & a Freddo. Adults can enjoy a non-alcoholic drink & medium freshly popped popcorn for £3.50. If you’re planning a family outing, you can choose 2 each of the above for just £12 (1 Adult and up to 3 kids or 2 adults and 2 kids).

Comic Takeover: Falkirk Library Saturday 16th June 11-3 A whole day of free comic book fun at Falkirk Library! Grab your cape and head on down to meet comic creators and get involved in comic art workshops, cosplay, digital games, crafts, Lego and more.

Macastory’s Comic Capers: The Howgate, Saturday 2nd June, 12-3pm Macastory are spreading the word about the Summer Reading Challenge with two mischievous free shows filled with stories, songs and big laughs.

Writing Rammy - All Ages Short Fiction Competition Our Writing Rammy is now in its second year. Last year budding writers of all ages submitted some incredible short stories. We’d love even more people to take part this year! Look out for writing workshops this summer in libraries and check the website for details of this year’s competition.

Summer for under 5s Bookbug and storytimes continue in some libraries over the summer months. Check the FCT website or ask at your local library for details.
