Paracletos partners, to be exact.

The term Paraclete (Greek: παράκλητος, Latin: paracletus) means advocate or helper. In Christianity, the term "paraclete" most commonly refers to the Holy Spirit. The word first appears in the Bible in John 14:16. As one journeys through their life, especially as a faithpreneur having paracletos partners is essential — starting with faith and finance.

As Faithpreneurs, we all know that faith is how we make things work to come alive, especially our businesses. As a business owner of 17 years who has served as a strategist for over 1,000 entrepreneurs, I know that the call to entrepreneurship is a call from God regardless of whether you acknowledge it at first. Success for a business owner takes time, patience, and a whole lot of faith. I have found that in times of uncertainty, a business owner can start to fear both success and failure. Where there is fear, there is no faith, so it is important to fully embrace the substance and evidence of your business journey to make it through the storms and uncharted territories of your business life. The pandemic has caused all of us to look for ways to deepen our partnership with our faith. In thinking about this, I came away with a few insights about casting out all fear that I would like to share with you: Insight One: A Faithpreneur works hard to not become a slave to fear.

The biblical reasons for overcoming fear are many; here are a few for you to always remember. (2 Timothy 1:7, Romans 8:1-16, Galatians 4:1)

Remember that when fear creeps up, you did not receive that from God. God gave you a “spirit of power, love, and a sound mind." So when fear creeps in, go find your power (you are creating an enterprise that helps and serves people who need you), your love for what you are doing (businesses solve problems - you are a problem solver), and a sound mind (you know what you are doing - keep doing it. If you don’t renew that mind daily, please do.)

Remember that the spirit-led direction you received to create, build, grow, and expand this business does not make you a slave to fear (of the unknown); instead, Spirit called you into partnership with God who when you ask for help (in faith) it shall be given unto you.

Along my “jollyjourney”, I gathered many things, mainly in the dark places where we tend to hide the areas of our life we are fearful of.

Fear can cause us to lose focus of the timing of the very things that matter most such as: The time it takes to manifest a legacy vision that took generations of faith walking for you to inherit.

Your vision is for an appointed time; wait for it.

The time it takes to fully learn a lesson and apply it to your life to move forward in faith. When you are a child, you think as a child, but when you grow up, you put childish things away, wake up from the dream and make it your mission to grow your faith

The things hidden in the areas of your life where fear resides can reveal the hidden, often blind faith waiting for you to focus on what is most important in your lifetime. The time you have inherited to take possession of what matters.

Finance is the stewardship of large amounts of capital. Along the NarrowRoad™, you have 5 types of capital that can be used to fuel the fire of your dreams. A fire that can burn away the fear blinding your faith. Even the smallest fire can cast out the deepest darkness to reveal hidden things waiting for unseen but prayed for promises.

It is for these reasons faith and finance are partners along the NarrowRoad™. Faith is the substance of all things. It is also the evidence of things unseen. The things we hope for and are potentially fearful of being.

Do you have relationships that will go the distance to supply your need for progress and connection? If yes, then you have social capital.

Leverage is the ability to build what you want with more than you presently have by connecting with others. Thus, wealth is a group process.

Do you have expertise that can grow you and others? If yes, then you have intellectual capital. Dreams are a partnership with opportunity and belief in a time that has finally come. What are the dreams hiding in your dark places that must be realized??

Do you have family, friends, and community that has nurtured and guided you? If yes, then you have cultural capital. Legacy is a blueprint that can show you what to do and what not to do to overcome the roadblocks that caused prior generations to stumble and, as a result, pass the torch to you.

Becoming Wealthy Becoming wealthy is an aspiration for many. Yet, it can seem impossible to achieve. You might ask yourself these frequently asked questions: How do I do it? What steps do I need to take? Can I really do this, or is being wealthy just for trust fund babies and tech entrepreneurs? I’m here to tell you that the opportunity to become wealthy is for everyone and you don’t need millions of dollars to begin your wealth journey. The truth is, you can become wealthy with much less. Did you know that more than 80% of self-made millionaires in the US started with nothing?

It’s Your Right To Be Wealthy You deserve to be wealthy! We all have that right, along with the freedom to become the master of our own destiny. God himself says that he gives us the power to create wealth. “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he

IWhat is a Poor Mindset?

The opposite of a wealth mindset is a poor mindset and most don’t realize they have it. A poor mindset can be any of the following: the idea that making money is wrong, that you'll never climb out of the pit of debt, you try continuously to just get by, or that you just don’t have the special sauce it takes to increase your cash flow. This mindset undermines God’s Economic System and will actively drive wealth away from you unless you work to counteract it. If you fear poverty, poverty will chase you down. If you fear wealth, wealth will evade you. “The LORD sends poverty and wealth; He humbles and He exalts”, 1 Samuel 2:7.

Do you want to be wealthy?

I previously mentioned that 80% of self-made millionaires began with nothing and I can attest to that. Growing up, I didn’t have much and I lived in a home and neighborhood that really wasn’t fit to live in. As a little girl, I remember being afraid to sleep at night because of the rats crawling in the walls. The idea of becoming wealthy was a distant dream with little possibility of turning into reality. If you have more bills than money the idea of gaining control and freedom over money may seem a bit unrealistic, but with Faith and Works all things are possible.

If you want wealth, it's important to determine and understand your Money Mindset. Ask a wealthy believer what was the moment or specific event that helped them get to where they are, and they’ll tell you it was their mindset that was the biggest reason for their prosperity. A wealth mindset is a set of beliefs, attitudes, habits, and behaviors that separates the wealthy from the rest and will guide you to make the most of the money you already have. “Godliness with contentment is great gain”, 1 Timothy 6:6-12. It does not come easy, but if you dig deeper into the lives of wealthy people, you’ll notice a pattern. A wealth mindset means spending less, making wise investments, and looking for ways to improve your financial standing with minimal risk. The good news is that with dedication and action, anyone can develop a wealth mindset.

Wealthy people aren’t smarter than anyone else, but they have mastered some important principles that help them get ahead and stay ahead. They treat building wealth as a learnable skill -- and it’s a skill that you can learn, too.

According to insurance industry statistics, 1 out of 100 people who reach retirement age, will be wealthy. Four out of the hundred will be financially independent, while fifteen will have some savings put aside. The remaining eighty will be dependent on company pensions, social security, still working, or broke. Why does this happen? There are two main reasons why people retire poor. First, they never decide to retire rich and they wish, hope, and pray but never make a definitive decision that they are going to do it.

Second, even if they do decide, they procrastinate until it is too late.

Look wealthy or be wealthy Do you really want to be wealthy? Or do you want to look like you're wealthy? If your choice is to look wealthy, you probably won't become wealthy. Most people who are wealthy are not showy about it. They have the self-assurance and don't need to put on airs. Have you ever seen that person that always seems to have the latest iPhone, best car, and designer clothes? Yet, they can barely pay their rent. The person that lives paycheck to paycheck, however, eats at the best restaurants. If you are that person then you need to stop right now! I understand you want people to see that you can afford these things, but that is not helping to build wealth. You are making someone else rich. Some of the wealthiest people I know are the most modest and unassuming people on the planet. They don’t wear designer brands. They don’t drive the fanciest cars. But what they do have is financial freedom.

If you sincerely want to become wealthy, there are four critical steps that you must take. Brian Tracy calls them, “The Four D's of Financial Independence”. First, you need to have Desire badly enough to make an unwavering commitment and to make lots of sacrifices. Second, make a Decision right now to do whatever is necessary (legally), willing to pay any price, go any distance, to achieve your goal. The third is Determination, keep at it until you succeed in spite of all the obstacles you will experience.

Life will happen and setbacks will come but stay the course. Lastly, Discipline to master and develop the habits necessary to become wealthy.

Building wealth is rarely easy. That’s why most people aren’t wealthy. The great news is that anyone who really wants to be wealthy and create intergenerational wealth can achieve it. The path may be easier for some than it will be for others, but it’s available to all who really want it.

The Black Church and Financial Empowerment Part 1 I am the president and CEO of GLOBAL 1000, a full service financial and economic development firm that assists churches in financing and economic development to rebuild communities through biblical principles.

I have negotiated contracts for churches nationwide, representing church financing investment advisors and transferring millions of dollars to faith-based organizations. I have also sat on the National Congress of Community and Economic Development Task Force on Religious Institutions and served as Professor of Economics at American Urban University and Faith Based Financing.

There are only three viable institutions of high capital-the church, sports and entertainment. In reality, there are two-sports and entertainment, but on any given Sunday, you will find the best and brightest and certainly the most powerful men and women from those two arenas in the pews of the churches of the African American community.

In addition to containing the financial Icons of sports and entertainment, 'the black' church is also a powerhouse in its own right. There are more than sixty-five thousand black churches in this nation, with more than twenty-five million members, representing more than fifty million dollars each Sunday. Yet, the majority of the parishioners are broke!

African American preachers are not trained in business, yet they are expected to run the church… A business!

Because of this fact, I am compelled to speak directly to African American Christians.

The African American Church, as we know it, has been the conduit for every movement in the African American culture, from the abolishment of slavery all the way to the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts.

Now, in the twenty-first century, when you look at the economic empowerment agenda, the Black church is being called on to lead that.

African American Christians, in order to accept “Great Wealth Transfer”, must evaluate, analyze and get our “Money Houses” in order. The objective of a Christian who lives life with principals is not to have present happiness by purchasing fine items and accumulating debt. Rather the objective should be to develop a discipline in financial efforts by understanding the process of money. Historically we have not learned this lesson. However, the love of money without “God Plan” doesn’t have to repeat itself.

God's plan for us is to be debt free and even better, that we would be lenders rather than borrowers. "The Lord will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow" (Deuteronomy 28:12). Church Community Development Financial Institutions, Credit Unions, and Investment Banking will be the topic of choice for those churches who want to follow scripture and rebuild communities.

Why should you care about Bitcoin?

Honestly, Bitcoin is better than cash. Not only is it transparent and secure, but everything surrounding alternative coins (Altcoins), decentralized finance (Defi), and non fungible tokens (NFTs) lead back to Bitcoin. The power of it being an open sourced protocol meant folks were able to fork (copy) the source code, and tweak it so that they could solve other use cases in industries that were financially inefficient and predatory. For example, Defi provides ways to manage your finances outside of traditional banking systems and essentially becoming your own bank (more on this later). NFTs are making artists, and their patrons millions through secondary markets, and of course, any holder of Bitcoin in the past decade has seen positive returns on their money more than any other financial asset. “What is Bitcoin, and how does it work?”

While that is a good question to start with, the better question is, “what is Bitcoin and why should I care?” You don’t know how the internet truly works from a technical standpoint, but you do know what it is and you do care about it. The internet disrupted the way we communicated, paid, and valued each other, and Bitcoin, thanks to its code and community, is already in the process of doing something similar. Blockchain technology and its use cases are so broad, that its implementation can really be as ubiquitous as the internet! To care about that though, you’ll need to understand just what it is, and how you can have a role in it.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a peer to peer cryptographic payment network with a supply cap of 21 million dollars. This network has a public ledger called the blockchain that keeps a record of all the transactions. Here’s a diagram of how blockchain works.

Web3 allows users to contribute to this network of dApps without monetizing their personal data. This means you can retain ownership, and use it to differentiate yourself as an early adopter in the next big thing.

How can I contribute to Web3?

There are two equally important routes you can focus on: being a founder or being a contributor. For founders, if you can put together a functioning product or service that highlights some aspect of Web3 you differentiate yourself and end up in an advantageous competitive position. Decentralized applications (dApps) use cases are boundless, and as our world becomes increasingly more digital the use cases will continue to rise in number. So if you see something that is being done online and it isn’t using Web3 you could probably create a decentralized version of it! Some real-world successful examples include creating a decentralized blog, setting up a decentralized competitor to YouTube, or accepting crypto payments via your e-commerce page. Again, there’s no limit to what can be done and blockchain protocols are pushing out hackathons for builders and companies who are eager to bring their services to the blockchain.

For contributors, you can bring your skills to a DAO and get paid for it, or take an educational approach to the space by participating in “learn to earn” protocols like Rabbithole to build credibility. Both approaches are valuable, and the opportunities are abundant. If there is a cause you care about, more than likely there's a crypto community waiting for you to join.

This is a lot to take in, why is the hype so great right now?

Big tech companies are fighting a battle on two fronts between the government and its users. Which means that it is a pretty good time to provide an alternative to exit from these platforms. You’d also be positioning yourself as an early mover in the space! To put it into the perspective of just how early you are, below is data representing the total number of active addresses on the Ethereum blockchain (~450,000 addresses).

The number of weekly active addresses hasn’t even reached 1 million, and yet the financial activity is outpacing the world banks. With a market experiencing growth like this, who wouldn’t want to get in the space now? So experiment, fail, and iterate until you get it right while the cost of doing so is low. Every time someone creates a project, contributes to a DAO, or completes a transaction on-chain, they’re placing a bet that this alternative is better than what we have currently. The reward for taking this type of risk and pivoting to ownership early on will pay off immensely in the long run.

In real estate, it’s typical to initially start as an agent and then eventually get into investing. In the beginning, God quickly showed me that this assignment was much more than chasing a commission or a profit. It was about helping His people by educating and empowering them. I recall my grandmother telling me to "elevate your mind if you want to achieve greater things." Feed your mind with quality food.

(Proverbs 30:8) God has given you an abundance of wealth and the authority and power to achieve great things for His Kingdom. Working for HIM comes with many benefits, but you must elevate your desires to achieve your greater goals.

"A blind mind yields sightless eyes".

The optic nerve is strategically positioned so we can see all around us. It is connected to other nerves to provide us with everything we need to see. Disturb or move it in any way, and your vision will be distorted.

The enemy wants nothing less than to distort what you see and how you perceive it to be. Pray and ask God to give you a God’s eye-view, to change your sight and thought perceptions. He wants nothing but the best in abundance for each of us. Elevate your mind, and your journey to greater things will begin.

Bottom line: Don’t be sightless! Elevate your mind.

Forgiveness is God’s love letter to the believer, demonstrated by Jesus’ ultimate expression of love in obedience to the Father to sacrifice himself on Calvary.

Forgiveness is not an option. However, it is a choice of the will. How arrogant to walk in unforgiveness when we have been forgiven for so much. Jesus’ choice to die for us was preceded by an act of forgiveness to and for us. How magnanimous it is to act on behalf of your betrayers.

The most basic need of every human being is to be loved and appreciated. Love can bring out the best and worst in a person.

I Corinthians 13:4-7 is the standard of how we love and forgive.

4 Love endures with patience and serenity. Love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious. Love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. 5 It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. 6 It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. 7 Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].

As Christians, God has commissioned all of us to pray. Prayer was the priority in Jesus' life and we see the Savior model that to us throughout the four gospels of the New Testament. He prayed in the city (Gethsemane- Matthew 26:36-56), He prayed on the mountaintops (Matthew 14:23).He even prayed on the cross (Matthew 27:46). Because of Jesus we can now approach our Heavenly Father directly. In fact, God's word tells us to pray. {1Thessalonians 5:16-18}.

But…What does prayer mean? To pray means to communicate with God. Oxford dictionary defines prayer as, “a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God”.

We turn to prayer because it is the most personal way to experience God, to encounter Him and to grow in knowledge of Him. God longs to have a Prayer Encounter with us. According to the book of Ephesians, God's desire is for us to pray “on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” (Ephesians 6:18).

With the commission to pray in all areas of our lives, one might ask…How do I get started? Or How can I increase my prayer life?

To start, know that…

Prayer can be simple.

Prayer is being yourself and talking to God. Prayer is the gateway to building a RELATIONSHIP with God. To help me increase my prayer life, I’ve begun starting my day with journaling my thanksgiving, requests, and commune with the Heavenly Father.

I've been journaling for several years now- and it has helped me tremendously in building an intimate relationship with God, increasing my prayer language, as well as targeting my prayers in keeping with the Word of God. Keeping a prayer journal allowed me to reflect on my WALK (journey with God). It has also helped me become MORE attentive in hearing the voice of God. It's that joyous appointed time to sit before Him for clarity and direction.

"Mom," I feel like I am going to another level! Everything is coming together. Just watch! I am about to make you proud! " No one could have told me that on December 15, 2020, at 10:15 AM, would be the last conversation I would have with my middle king, Azal Benne Lockett. He was so driven and was determined to be an entrepreneur with the sole purpose of being a blessing to his family and others that crossed his path.

As a hospital chaplain, I have stood with mothers, fathers, siblings, children, lifetime partners, etc., and held their hands as they said their final goodbyes to their loved ones. I have sat in that first row when my parents, my siblings, my nephew and other loved ones received their wings, but this was a different type of journey. One thing I never anticipated traveling on. God

spoke to me very clearly and told me, "I am going to get the glory out of this". At that moment, honestly, I questioned God, and like most mothers, I was angry, felt betrayed, and overwhelmed by emotions. As I sat daily reflecting on my son’s life, my creativity was stirred up by the voice of God. I began to write as tears dripped silently down my face.

Like Mary, I stand where so many mothers have stood.

I grieve like other mothers have grieved.

I questioned, as so many mothers have questioned.

I screamed, like so many mothers have screamed.

My emotions are all over the place, just like other mothers’ emotions have been.

I am speechless, like other mothers who couldn’t speak.

I cried like other mothers have cried.

I prayed like other mothers have prayed.

So now, I have to lean on the one and only God, like other mothers have. 12/17/20@DPL In my questioning, God spoke again and said: Be Still Be Still Be quiet.

Be still.

Listen to my voice.

Be still and stay still.

Now be still and be open...

Be still and be open to receiving.

Stop moving, I said, be still.

Not just your body, but also your mind.

Be still and know that I am God. Be still and be present in this moment.

I am making a transaction.

I made a withdrawal from what I created in the universe.

Azal’s assignment was complete.

However, I am making a deposit.

Be still and wait...

Over the last 15 years, I have been able to guide others that are grieving through the process by officiating services and simply being present. Everyone grieves uniquely, and no one can say there is one way to heal. Even in the midst of COVID 19, God used me as a vessel to support those that were dealing with depression, losing their homes, jobs, and total lifestyle adjustments. Many have lost pets, had amputations, gone through divorces, business closures, and the list goes on. So many are placed on this path and are clueless as to what to do. That’s when this verse rose in my spirit. Ephesians 3:20. God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ask or think.

That word "ABLE" stood out like a bomb that exploded in my spirit.

Azal’s initials are ABL. That’s when I heard about the ABL foundation.

The Azal Benne Lockett Foundation was created with the sole purpose of helping those that are grieving. Everyone that I mentioned it to confirmed it, and the intended question turned into, how can I help?

By assisting others on their journey, it has helped me to transition from my pain into peace and my tragedy into triumph.

The Trauma, Drama & Comma Dr. Emma Fraser Pendleton

The goal in sharing my story is to reveal the connection between past events, present actions and future possibilities resulting from the lessons I have learned about recovery and resilience. My account is raw and transparent. It reveals the struggles and strengths in owning my true self by accepting the reality of how childhood trauma, reoccurring drama, and the discovery of the “comma concept” have moved me from a state of despair to demonstrated success. Throughout my years of healing and recovery, I have come to realize that stories shared by those who have survived traumatic events, is one of the most powerful conduits for helping others to heal and recapture the pieces of their broken lives.

Although, my story as presented is but a thin slice of my life – it contains sufficient detail about major events that shaped my formative years; my future failings and my significant successes. Similar to a pie; where just one thin slice will contain enough of the flavor to reveal its contents to the taster; a thin slice of one’s story can also convey the elements critical for the reader to grasp the essence of the whole; not by the quantity of its content, but by the quality of what is shared.

My explanation of the trauma, the drama and the comma is written for the most part in three distinct sections so that I can explore the critical elements of all three within the context of how and when they happened. But, since life is not exactly like a pie - baked and done - I unpack elements of each phase throughout this presentation.

It is often stated that we are the sum total of our experiences and it is those experiences which shape our view of the world. Throughout our lives we will face insurmountable tests and trials. These seasons of despair disseminate our souls, challenge our faith, and cause us to question why we are here, and why must we endure these traumatic assaults on our persona and psyche? What is the meaning of it all?

Can there be a purpose far greater than the weight of the crucibles which confronts us on our journey? Yes. There is an exquisite/godlike connection between each man’s story, and every man’s experience. The universality of the human experience as endured by each of us within the context of our separate lives, ultimately it is for the collective emancipation of us all.

“Stories are memory aids, instruction manuals and moral compasses.” Aleks Krotoski, author, broadcaster, journalist and social psychologist.

In the context of this discourse, I utilize an accepted definition and usage of the words ‘trauma and drama” to explain the events associated with specific experiences commonly associated with the meaning of trauma and drama. This is not the case with the meaning of “the comma.” As the writer, I have redefined the meaning of “the comma,” to describe the ongoing intervention and redirection in our lives

by God; who supernaturally orchestrates a course of events which thrusts and impels us to walk in our divine purpose and destiny.

The description of the traumatic scenes shared, although they happened to me, are written in the third person: This was the protective space I needed in order to evoke and recapture the emotional context of the events as they occurred and as remembered. Psychiatry refers to this process as “regression analysis,” I define it as a spiritual encounter with the past for the express purpose of understanding the present and its relationship to the future.

SPIRITUAL FOOD FOR YOUR SOUL

Similar to the steady and automatic movement of the hands of a clock, the flow of life is released in increments and stages. Within a twentyfour hour day we can experience a state of drift so subtle that we are unaware of its presence. Like mechanisms set on automatic pilot we continue on our customary and known course. Traumatic episodes seriously alter the course, and the subtlety of the former drift as it gives way to violent currents of confusion, unfolding drama, and seasons of chaotic change.

From the age of three to sixteen, I could have been the poster child for organizations that addressed the impact of abuse in the lives of children. But, I had no such champion, no such rescue, no way out.

Our parents, Ida Mae Baldwin of Lumpkin Georgia, and Walter Frederic Fraser from British Guyana, were married in Brooklyn N.Y. Together they had six children in seven years; five boys and one girl. In total, Ida Mae was the mother of eleven children; six by our father, and five from a previous marriage and with several partners. As children we knew very little about the background of our parents. It would take years before we would actually meet and develop relationships with our step sister and brothers.

Reflection, Connection and Lessons Learned Insufficient information about one’s family, relatives and siblings is sufficient to be classified as a continual traumatic event.

During her final pregnancy with my youngest brother, our mother suffered a complete nervous breakdown, and was institutionalized; she would spend the next thirty plus years of her life behind the walls of Kings County Hospital for the mentally ill. Her six children by our father, Walter Fraser would spend the next fifteen years of their lives in foster homes. The trauma of being separated from our mother paled by comparison to the traumatic events that awaited us as foster children.

First memories: The bed frame was a gray metal. The blanket was brown. The surroundings I do not remember. Nevertheless, I can still feel the emotional impact of my screams. After each episode, I would cry myself to sleep. The screams were so loud that it felt like they were coming from another place; a dark place filled with other screams that melded with my screams. A chorus not like any other; an ensemble mystically conducted by brain waves communicated through the universal connection of little souls on the brink of disappearing into the abyss of the deeping despair and immeasurable fear.

In my late twenties, when the memory of the above event resurfaced, I asked my dad if in fact those memories were real? He responded, “Yes. When your mother got sick, the state placed the six of you in an orphanage. I would visit, and although your brothers cried, you would scream at the top of your lungs when it was time for me to leave. I could hear your screams as I walked that long hallway to the exit. “Don’t leave me, daddy don’t leave me!”

Some years later, I asked my brothers if they remembered anything about our time in the orphanage. Not one of them had any memory of being in such a place. The insidious nature of trauma is like that: One child’s detailed mental replay is another child’s blank tape.

However, there's a secret in the first line that we, including me, often miss and it is a key to taking opportunity and maximizing the possibilities she often carries.

Yes, the Sower threw the seed into bad soil.

Yes, the Sower eventually got to good soil that was the right conditions for the seed to grow. All true and all in the passage, however, the farmer had to stay faithful to starting.

The Sower had to throw the seed.

The Sower had to get up.

The Sower had to be consistent.

The Truth About Opportunity Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow.

But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.

Matthew 13: 3-8 NIV Every day that we are given the privilege to wake up, we are met with the gift of opportunity. Opportunity defined as, “a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something”, is tricky if we are honest. My good sis “opportunity” is a slippery slope between “it's all good” and “what is happening.” Although we are met with opportunity and her friend “possibility”, she may not look like what we want or how we want it, and often it's never when we want it. Now the thing I have come to appreciate about opportunity over the course of my career and ministry, is that she is not loud. Opportunity is that girl; persistent although low; worthwhile when treated properly, can yield unending happiness.

It's easy in a world of filters, analytics, and likes to deduce oneself to the result or output of their work; the results of taking an opportunity, right? This however is not Kingdom.

Matthew 13 is one of those popular passages of scripture surrounding the Parable of the Sower. Now, I already know the faith-filled God-loving person you are, is not new to this story. Amen.

The Sower had to be persistent.

The Sower had to have endurance.

The Sower had to keep starting over and over again.

People of God, the Sower would have not yielded a crop, provided for the birds, or even eventually got it to a good ground, if he never started and stayed consistent with starting over and over again even in the face of results that were NOT encouraging to his task.

He literally saw distraction and kept going.

I know at the top of anything new; a new season, new year, new job, new life role, etc, there's an excitement for what could be, what could happen, and what's ahead. Before you and I get caught up into the specifics of what's to come, let's remember that every day is the opportunity to start and to stay consistent in where we are TODAY. Whether your start is a new mindset shift or a new habit that is in the stages of its formation, bro/sis throw your seeds! I love that the text moves quickly off of the Sower and towards the results. However, these are results that would have never been seen if the farmer did not (1) start and (2) stay consistent to continue.

Even in the face of his seeds being stolen, he kept going.

Yes, they may have copied your entire plan, but baybee THEY ARE NOT YOU! Keep going!

Even in the face of his seeds not producing what he thought they should, that farmer kept sowing.

Yes, it went horribly last time, but what about the new things you know now for THIS time?

It was the “fake” growth for me! While seeds seemed to have taken root and appeared to be fruitful, only for a little while later to be uprooted(verse 5), that did not become a standard for the Sower of his purpose or worth. The failure did not keep him from the goodness of starting, again.

He kept going and it's only in that consistent place was He able to reap a harvest more than what he ever sowed…

Sis, do not let their success scare you.

Bro, the opposition is doing its job, keep doing YOURS! Beloved, our job is to focus on what we were created to do like this Sower.

His job was to sow; throw seeds, and that he did with consistency.

I pray that you do not get distracted with results that your Heavenly Father is not concerned about.

I pray that you do not get discouraged by numbers and analytics that hold no weight in eternity.

I pray that as you abide in Him, you get the strength to keep sowing that seed.

I pray that as you may be feeling the weariness, you do not forget that opportunity is only effective when it's met with Faith and Endurance.

Keep going boo, STARTING and staying CONSISTENT too, it looks so GOOD ON YOU! See you at the deep end!

Let's talk about overwhelm and overflow, feelings that are very real and very necessary to manage and direct for your prosperity and peace.

REALITY | We are human.

At the start of a new year, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by all that we hope to accomplish and we are expected to give to our family, staff, teams, clients, customers, community as we move into what many consider a new season. And so, it is essential for us leaders and builders to develop a process and practice to consistently fill our internal cups and nurture our Spirits, so we can give from our overflow and not overwhelm.

TRUTH | It is important to know what the Word says about flow.

Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.' John 7:38 INSTRUCTION | From knowledge of truth flows understanding.

The Word says living water will flow from the hearts of those who believe in God. And so, I invite you to be aware of when you feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, nervous, fearful, and anything less than hopeful and filled with faith about your business, career, or life.

During these times especially, make time to be still and think about how much God loves you and how much you believe in his wisdom and promises as revealed through scripture.

Meditate on what the Word says are God's promises to you, and remember how God has shown up for you in the past.

Then, take time to let yourself be filled with the presence of God, overwhelmed by his faithfulness in your life and Work thus far, and overflowing with gratitude for His grace and mercy towards you.

Let the love of Jesus fill your heart and mind until you are overflowing with thankfulness.

Then, be intentional about sharing the love of Christ with someone in your family or business through a deliberate act of kindness or grace.

Make it your top priority to make time and create space to repeat this exercise frequently until you feel the constant presence of God's love with you; then, make this exercise an ongoing personal practice for your peace and prosperity in life + business.

ACTION | From knowledge and understanding flows good works.

Ask God to make clear how He would like for you to show as a vessel through which others can experience the living water that flows from your heart during this month of December, in particular. Give yourself time and mental space to hear from the Lord; act on what God shows you without delay.

Creation started in darkness; God then spoke light into existence. Every new day starts in darkness at midnight; the starting of the new day is not easily known in the early hours. It’s not until we see the sun begin to rise that we are certain it’s a new day. And, during the New Moon phase, the moon appears invisible to us because it is positioned between the sun and the Earth; it is in alignment with the sun, fully illuminated, but this positioning makes it appear dark on Earth. We eventually see the full illumination later in the phase, when it has transitioned to the Full Moon. Thus, though we generally expect darkness at the ending, it often symbolizes the beginning!

The darkness can make us feel uncertain because we cannot see what’s ahead. We have to rely on faith and not sight! How do we have faith in the darkness? “…We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28 NLT) Even when we cannot see it, we must believe that God is working all things for our good!

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35-39 NLT) Reflect on all He has blessed you with to remember He is a way maker! Even when we don't see it, He is working! Even when we don't feel it, He is working! He never stops working! So, don’t let the darkness waver your faith, making you believe it’s the end. You may very well be at the beginning of your next miracle!

Create Your Possibility Board to Achieve Your Life Goals Dr. Lethia Owens, CSP

A possibility board shows what you’re seeking in life. It prompts you to consider what you want. Before starting your board, ask yourself what your goals are. What do you want your life to be like?

Use these basic guidelines to create this tool for yourself: A possibility board begins with a foundation. This may be a poster board, foam board, tri-fold board, or cork board. Use what works best for you. Choose a foundation that speaks to you, one that you feel you can easily and effectively build upon.

A possibility board includes imagery. You can clip pictures out of books, magazines, or the newspaper. If you prefer, you can draw the images yourself. What matters here is that images are present, because your possibility board needs to be visual in nature. Seeing pictures of your priorities, dreams, and goals will help you focus on them.

Do you feel you need a push to focus on your goals? It can be very effective to have daily reminders of what you want to accomplish. But how is it possible to keep your goals in mind every day? One way to consistently work toward bringing your dreams to life is to make a possibility board. Some people call this a vision board but I like to call it a possibility board because it reminds me daily of what is possible for me.

Introduction to Possibility Boards Visualizing what you really want in life can be one of the most powerful ways to manifest your dreams. A possibility board can be a simple and yet truly powerful tool in visualization.

Possibility boards are also known as goal maps, goal boards and treasure maps, and the concepts behind them have been used for generations. Still, they're gathering renewed interest as people realize how powerful they can be in bringing dreams to life.

What is a Possibility board?

A possibility board is a design project – a collage that includes pictures and words that reflect your life goals. The board can address your life in general or one or more specific areas you choose.

Allow yourself to experiment with different mediums while creating the images for your possibility board. Find photographs, sketches, clip art and other images; then draw any subjects for which you couldn't find an appropriate piece of art.

A possibility board includes writing. Writing isn't mandatory, but it can play a role in identifying the key pieces of information. You want to make sure that you can look at your possibility board at any point in the future and know exactly what you intended by each picture, word, or thought included.

Your goal map is limited only by the extent of your personal creativity. It may be simple and strategic or it may be a highly detailed work of art. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what best suits your needs.

The general elements in an effective and motivating possibility board are: Visual. Your subconscious tends to work in terms of images and pictures, and so your possibility board should be as visual as you can possibly make it. Supplement the images with phrases and words as needed.

RESOURCES & TECHNOLOGY Emotional. Every image on your goal map should evoke some type of positive emotional response out of you. Seeing it should fuel your motivation to achieve your dreams.

Strategic. This tool should be placed strategically in a location where you receive maximum exposure to it. Seeing your possibility board as often as possible will help you stay focused on your goals and dreams.

Personal. Your possibility board needs to emit positive energy. If you think that you'll be criticized or forced to justify yourself for your possibility board, then keep it in a private location so nobody else can bother it or you.

Find the pictures you want to use. Browse through magazines and clip images that reflect your goals and dreams. Then, without gluing, arrange and rearrange the pictures on the poster board until you love how it looks.

Leave a space somewhere on the poster board to place a favorite picture of you.

Once you have a pleasing arrangement, affix your collage with glue.

Reflect on your most important goals. Set a timer for 20 minutes and clarify to yourself what you want in life.

Right now, what’s important to you? What do you want to pursue? It’s okay if you’re not sure. But give yourself time to think about it. When you emotionally connect with your goals, you’re more likely to achieve them.

Making a possibility board keeps you oriented toward your life desires. Construct a new board later as you reach current goals and add new ones. Motivate yourself to attain your goals and dreams through making your own possibility board.

Success and wealth love action. Begin the process for attracting phenomenal success and wealth into your life by implementing what you have just learned. Start with these easy three steps: Imagine your business being better by implementing the strategies you just learned.

Decide which two or three things you will implement in your business as a result of the information you just read. Identify one thing you plan to do immediately.

Act on one strategy you learned within the next 24 hours. Ask someone to hold you accountable. Your success depends on it.

Remember...You are bigger, more powerful and more valuable than you have ever been taught to believe.

It’s true that if you aren’t taking as much control of your destiny, becoming your own supply chain CEO, you leave yourself at the mercy of the circumstances around you; but you can change your outcome for the good. You just need to know what to look for, and more importantly, what to do about it.

Let’s focus on these three areas I want you to explore as we move through this series: How the supply chain breakdown is negatively impacting you What you need to do to get out of the supply chain-dependency How to grow your network of opportunities The Supply Chain Breakdown Unless you’ve been living off the grid, and as a hermit, you are seeing and may be experiencing the supply chain breakdown, and how it’s negatively impacting everything.

The supply chain took a major hit with shutdowns, infrastructural vulnerabilities, logistical challenges, and according to Lazaro Gamio, and Peter S. Goodman, of the New York Times, as reported on December 5th, 2021: ships stuck at sea, warehouses overflowing, trucks without drivers, and a stack of other seemingly disconnected issues in the “interconnected global supply chain” has created a domino-effect with little end in sight. Understanding where all the dots connect in the supply chain as it relates to you and yours is a critical move in being able to identify vulnerabilities well before they reach your front door. From the skyrocketing prices, limited selections in the stores waning in quality, to the shipping delays, employment challenges, and growing concerns around mental health, we’re all affected by it.

Getting out of supply chain dependency Releasing yourself and your family from supply chain dependency takes intentional planning, a few steps, and a desire to move through developing a new mindset and life standard operating procedures, SOPs. Know the supply chain and how dependent you and your circles are on it.

How well are you prepared, or rather, where are the holes in the integrity of your preparedness? What systems do you have in place that allow you to handle your business, keep you and yours safe, clothed, fed, and thriving? If everything were to shut down right now, would you be able to carry on as normal, or would you find yourself somewhere between scramble ‘n panic? If you picked the daily double “scramble ‘n panic” then you need a plan of action to get on the right track.

Put a plan in place where you can navigate what’s necessary to make you and your loved-ones self-sufficient, and sustainable.

The most powerful thing you can do here is to assess your situation. Define what you ultimately want to achieve, where you want to go, and how you should get there. Once you’ve done that, you are ready to build backward from there…

Food shortages: Grow your own! If you have a 4’ x 4’ space you can grow a vertical garden! There are thousands of people since the initial shutdown who started growing their own. I’m a proud member of that group and grow my own produce, in the living room of all places, in a 4’x4’ space. Some of the tastiest, most nutrient-dense produce I’ve ever had. Make bulk purchases of beans, grains, dried fruits, vegetables, seaweed, organic nuts & seeds, herbs & spices. Stock up on your healthy, edible oils, and get a vacuum sealer.

Survival kit and protocol: Make sure you have at least one well-stocked first aid kit, a portable water purification system, a personal water filtration unit as well, one for each of your household members, a well-stocked survival kit, a plan of how to safely exit your domicile in the case of an emergency,.

Financial shortages: Start a home-based business and take advantage of the tax code to keep your money. When there are economic downturns it’s a great time to start a business. When you’re hungry for solutions, and circumstances create the necessity to survive, your motivation, resilience, and resolve increase to facilitate success. You have to be willing to open your mind to the ‘how-to’ make-it-happen way of thinking. Research the companies that fit your temperament, and have the systems in place, and support to help you succeed, make sure you’re leveraging strategies like having the right types of insurance coverage as an active wealth strategy. I had an opportunity to interview financial and wealth-generation expert, Carmen M. Herrera, of CMHC Wealth Advisors, creator of the “60 Day Financial Challenge Bootcamp”, and learned about how insurance is one of the quickest ways to immediately create intergenerational wealth. It not only can take care of you in the case of a tragedy, but it can also be leveraged to give you access to finances, minus the tragedy.

Work your plan and adjust it along the way. What tools are required to get you there spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally, financially, etc. Are you writing it in?

Invest in the tools, platforms, and products that will sustain you, yours, and whatever else is at the top of your priority list.

When it comes to the difference between “spending” and “investing” your money, time, and resources, looking at it through the lens of sustainability will give you everything you need in order to differentiate between the two. Think of it this way; Spending is pretty much a one-and-done. You make a purchase on the “spend” plan and you use the thing, but it doesn’t give back. All you have to show for it is the receipt, maybe a fond memory, but you don’t have anything left in its place that continues to grow, or grow you…

Investing is leveraging your resources for now to secure something that will grow immediately, or over time, to give back to you in numerous ways if you plan it right. You end up being better off for the investment, and it accrues in value. A great set of examples would be: insurance policies, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, investment property/real estate/land, profitable businesses, tools for your trade that help you generate revenue, a home-based business, and purchases that free up cash flow and give back like a Tower Garden®, etc.

Growing Your Network of Opportunities Many of us have heard the saying, “Your network is your net worth” and it couldn’t be more true than in these present times. When you surround yourself with the right mix of people, professionals, and possibilities, you position yourself for success and increase your speed to profitability. Your network provides clarity, mentorship, security, opens doors, strength, encouragement, and numerous other benefits. My network pointed me in the direction of the information I’ve shared here today, referred me to clients, helped me in crisis, strengthened me to be a better father to my children, and a better family man to my family. Find a way to facilitate, and include this in your messaging.

It's not always going to be easy and that lets you know that you're on the right path. The reason why is because if it was easy, everyone else would be doing it. You were chosen for this. Always remember that you were chosen for this.

The question is, how many people can you pick up the phone and call when you need them or when you're able to bless them and they'll stop what they're doing? That's your power of influence. When Dr. Stacie asked me to do this, my answer was absolutely, because my grandmother would say “that one right there… that one right there… that's a good girl”. It’s my honor to be here to be able to share with this wonderful family of Faithpreneurs. Thank you, Stacie Dr. Stacie: I'm just so excited that we can have this conversation. Let's just jump into it. Let's start first with faith. As I often say, you don't have to wear it on your sleeve. You wear it in your heart, so it radiates from you. But why is faith so important to Linda Clemons?

Linda Clemons: Let me tell you something, as part of my prayer every day, I say, “Lord, if you don't do anything else for me, you've done more than enough”. Let me tell you about June 4, 1996. I was a radio personality doing morning drive radio. I was in radio for over 15 years. I was scheduled for outpatient surgery that day, thinking, I'm going in and coming right out. I think it was Mother Teresa, correct me if so, that said, “the best way to make God laugh is to make plans”. The surgery was supposed to last for maybe an hour. Well the anesthesiologist, somehow, gave me an overdose of drugs. I was in a coma for seven days. My heart stopped for 60 seconds. Meanwhile all the prayer warriors in my life were surrounding the hospital and outside my room. The doctors told my family to prepare for the worst. I don't know about you but have you ever been in a situation when everything or everyone is counting you out and telling someone to prepare for the worst? But something bigger and greater than me, My God said not yet. Until your defined and anointed purpose is done you won’t leave this place. All I'm simply saying to you, is my faith means everything to me.

FIRESIDE CHAT - LINDA CLEMONS

My spiritual walk with my Lord and Savior means everything to me. I have a contract with my Lord. It's an irrevocable contract. It says, I'm in. I can't cancel it and I don't want to cancel it. It’s that kind of relationship because see, it is your faith that allows you to step forth. It allows you to walk on water. However, my brothers and sisters, you cannot walk on water, if you don't get out of the boat. Quite often, we can't move to that next level. And we talk about having faith, but fear comes in. That's not faith. I believe whatever God has, for me is for me, whatever God gives me, I'm walking in and being blessed in my overflow, so that I can give to others to not compete with them. I don't have to do that. Especially, if I can take something that I have to be able to complete them. Faith means everything to me!

Dr. Stacie: What else can you say after that? I mean, they counted you out at that moment telling your family to prepare for the worst …but God! I have learned throughout my journey, that you don't really know what faith is until you've met up with something that literally shakes that foundation of what you believe.

Linda Clemons: It’s like people who get upset about the job market right now but there's plenty of jobs for folks that want to work. If you're an entrepreneur, you are here to produce. We are meant to be producers, not just consumers. I don't get upset about the traffic jam. I don't get upset if I miss the plane. I don't get upset by any of those little things because once you've had lunch with death, everything is secondary.

That's why faith is so critical. Quite often we forget that we always hear about people talking about their “Job test” but if you read the book, you should know how the story ends. Nothing can happen in your life without permission, if you're in alignment with God. You've got to be on one accord and you've got to be in alignment with the Divine One. You've got to be in alignment with Jehovah. If you recall, why is it we call ourselves Christians or we call ourselves Faithpreneurs? We call ourselves walking in His Word and standing on his promises and many of us are still sitting on the premises. We talk about having faith yet at the same time, doubt comes in.

Even satan knew he had to get permission from God to touch Job. If he had sense enough to know, who's great, who's almighty, who is who controls everything? If he had sense enough to know to get the rules of the game? What are you fearing? He can't touch you, he can't do anything to you if you're in alignment with God. When I look at scriptures, we can't ask God to order our steps if we're not obedient. God is in the center of my business. Get into the Word and allow the Word to be applicable to your business. I'm telling you, it can make a difference. Whatever you thought that was taken away from you, just like God restored everything to Job, the same thing can happen for you.

Dr. Stacie: Wow this is straight HolyGhost Fire! Now let’s talk about finance because a lot of people get it twisted. They think money is evil. You are one of the master sales experts on the planet. Can you just talk a bit about this conversation on faith and finance?

Linda Clemons: Listen, ladies and gentlemen, you got to go back and break down the Scripture. When people say, money is the root of all evil, It is actually the love and lust of anything that you put before God that is evil. If you research the millionaire series, “Moses, The Millionaire, Jesus, The Millionaire”, you will understand that you have the resources to be able to multiply. When the brother took a two piece and five loaves and was able to feed the multitude, it shows us something about multiplication. Think about when you tithe back into the source. Understand, when you get fruit, you get 100% of it and you're asked to give back 10%. You cannot have your resources or money multiplied if your hands are closed, for it cannot come in, nor go out. Here's what happens.

So many people get caught up in material things. They get caught up in the gifts and the things that money is able to buy. When you do this, then you forget the source from where it comes from. Let me tell you something, a friend of mine said you are getting all of the things that you want and “you ain't paid for nothing”. This is because God will put the right people in place to give you what you need. Now listen very carefully.

When you are tied to all the materialistic and the gifts that your money buys, you are pushing yourself away from the giver. I'm not attached to the gifts boo! I'm attached to the giver! When you are attached to an unlimited source, you don't have to be in the mindset of lack. When you are in the mindset of lack it will never ever be enough. You're trying to compete utilizing materialistic things to validate who you are. Instead of being clear as to whose you are!

If you say money is the root of all evil, you're not even in the word. Because let me tell you something, some of the wealthiest people in the world we know as our Jewish brothers and sisters because they're in alignment in the word of giving back and tithing. There is no word for retirement in Hebrew. They know they come to produce. Here we are the most brilliant and richest people in the world in our talents and gifts, but yet at the same time, we own little. We are consumers rather than producers. We're so used to wanting to adorn ourselves, as opposed to leaving a legacy and making an impact, so understand what you do with your money. I challenged a group of women a few years ago to support a sister-friend of mine that owned a boutique. It was during the recession back in President Obama's first term. Now this boutique was competing with the brand name department stores. I contacted 10 of my sister-friends and asked them to bring three friends with them that would commit to spending $500. Can you imagine having 30 women in the store, and they're all spending $500 in a little boutique? Don't tell me what your money cannot do!

Money is not going to do anything just like the River Jordan unless it's flowing. Your money may be acting like the Dead Sea, because you try to hold on to it. I'm gonna tell you this right now. I have never seen a UHaul behind a hearse. You can’t take it with you.

Dr. Stacie: WOW! We can’t take notes fast enough. Let's just jump right into legacy. As you said, you can't take it with you so what will you be producing while you're here?

Linda Clemons: Make a note of this. Every one of you were put on this earth for a reason. You were put here for divine purpose and or divine reason. Now here is the thing. Have you ever been in a situation where you're dealing with a customer and they dealt with other people in your industry, and they weren't happy and they said “you know, it wasn’t until I found you that you made this work”. You were put here to solve a problem. When you solve that problem, then you are in alignment with your purpose. When there are problems out there that only you can solve, you solve a problem, you're in your purpose, then you're going to prosper. Oh my gosh, it's that simple. That's the thing that keeps your money flowing when you utilize your gifts but here's what happens. We get caught up in seeing this other individual or someone else. We start saying: “oh look at them Look how many followers they got, I think I'm gonna do like them, I think I don't want to do what I'm doing, I'm gonna do that, etc.

When you are out of your purpose you are the one that stops your flow. When you are in your divine purpose, you should never ever be hungry, and you should never want because the Bible says, I didn't say it, that your gifts and talents will make room for you.

Dr. Stacie: I told y'all this was going to be fire!

Linda Clemons: Notice when you get in your grove, and all of a sudden you're getting money, it's flowing. When it flows, guess what happens? Watch this, tell me if this is evil.. money's coming in. Watch this, then you give back to the source. Wow, money's coming in, and then you help the least of them. Wow, money's coming in, then you could hire two or three more people. Wow and help them with their family.

How many of you just go eat a piece of fruit and throw the seeds away? I don't throw seeds away. I eat the seeds because I'm attached to the source baby. I'm attached to the seed. Take those little seeds for your greens or your corn instead of throwing it in the trash, which sometimes is what we do with our talents and our gifts, by not taking advantage of it. But what happens if you take that seed and put it back into the earth? You sow in areas you want to see grow. So when my sister called me to do this, I'm sowing in this area, because I want to see her continue to grow and her ministry blossom.

Dr. Stacie: Big Sis you've been sowing in this ground for Faithpreneur Weekend since the inception! You were telling me you know, make sure that as you build out what it is that you are doing with this community that represents what God gave you not that it looks like anybody else. From the beginning, you were here with me. You were one of the first honorees. You made your way to New York and were here with my family. There are no words to describe what your love & support means to me, and the action that you took. It's one thing to say that you're going to pour in, or you're going to plant seeds because we can talk a good game, but how many of us actually do it?

On October 1, 2006, my life as I'd always known it, came to a screeching halt. My husband, Sergeant Mario Nelson, died with honor while serving our great country. There was no amount of preparation or warning possible to help me cope with becoming a widow so young in my life.

That day, I lost my husband, the father of my daughter, my best friend, my King, and a brave man.

While she was afraid to even speak about her father, I’d be affected by the mere sight of a military uniform. I began to take notice of my triggers and would break down and cry no matter where I was or who was around, I did not care. It had gotten so bad that when I would see soldiers who were recruiting, I would yell, curse, and accuse them of trying to kill other people.

Using my YOMA Method and by leaning on God, I was able to overcome fear and avoid making decisions that could have destroyed our lives. I was then able to help my daughter through her healing process using my YOMA Method, and by teaching her to have faith in God. Trusting God reassured me that my relationship with my child would be strong and healthy.

I teach my students to always allow their experiences to ignite the light in their lives, regardless of the past. Speaking positive words is key to cleansing your space, and mind. All of this is key to healing.

We are rooted in faith, and well-balanced in the spirit. Today I hope people find hope through healing space, power, and self-love. I use my pain to ignite a fire within me, and to help others who experience various forms of trauma.When I see how far I've come, again, I can't help but thank God. God has given me the strength to continue moving forward, even on the days when I didn't think I could move on.

Mario's loss revealed to me the strength and gift of my vulnerability. With the guidance of God and support from my church, I evolved into someone with a life purpose. The relationship with my daughter has a strong bond. I remember my husband and his sacrifice, knowing that now, and every day, I am helping others heal inside and out.

One final thing: I'd like other gold star wives, widows, and families to know they are not alone. If you're reading this: please stay active, even when it's difficult. Try to remain positive; I promise you, when there is a will, there is a way.

FAITHPRENEUR® GOT TALENT

Now that is some context, but what does a social entrepreneur or Juancarlos have to do with this story? It was during a presentation I was making for the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for a contract to facilitate a digital marketing campaign for their new biking initiative.

This is where Juancarlos, sat as an advisor and was on the hiring committee. After my presentation he was in awe of my talent, skills, articulation, and presentation. He approached me and though I did not win the bid for the contract, the words he shared with me that day have echoed in my mind, heart, and very spirit ever since.

The Intersectionality of Entertainment & Social Impact - Prophet Link

Generally speaking, the heart of talent, skill, ability, and capability is often tied to a desire for well-doing, and well-being.

There is a very particular aspect of the relationship between performer and audience. Another is service provider and consumer. How does one distinguish between performance and influence? Is there a possible intersection? I dare say, yes!

In this section of Faithpreneur Magazine, we will explore the connectedness and divine elements of entertainment, not to be confused with idolatry and social impact.

I identify as a Social Entrepreneur. The first time I heard that term, I recall feeling a burning in my innermost being.

Juancarlos, may he rest in peace, was a director over a host of health and nutrition programs with The Children’s Aid, one of the largest community-based, nonprofit organizations in New York City. We met on several occasions via events and training that The Children’s Aid hosted for parents and other benefactors of the organization. At the time, I had two graduates and two active students in their Early Childhood Program, and was very active in the Community Policy Council, also known as the Parent’s Committee, or PTA. I went fromVice Chair to Chair/President of the center, and then eventually I became President and Chair over the entire Early Childhood Division. Serving for about a year in that capacity opened the door for me to be nominated and elected as a member of the Board of Directors for the entire agency!

Juancarlos asked me what the goals of my business were, at the time, they were simply to build revenue so that I can fund programming for high-risk youth, who I related to. I did not want to go the nonprofit route to deal with boards, requests for proposals, grants, and fundraising. And he responded, so nonchalantly, “Oh, so you’re a social entrepreneur!”. I was flabbergasted! I know, you might not see that word too often, but it is too accurate to the sentiment. Though I had no clue at the time what it meant and what that would mean for my trajectory and the trajectory of our family business, I played it cool and responded with a confident, “yes!”.

Soon after this meeting I searched the definition of this profound term, and discovered literature, podcasts, videos, and even documentaries about Social Impact work being done by large corporations, and how virtually every profitable conglomerate has a “social impact” division, program, initiative, and the likes. I saw this as the answer to my dream and vision to become a CEO that used revenue streams to fund real onthe-ground work impacting the communities I once terrorized and creating opportunities for socioeconomic growth, development, and sustainability for people of color in urban communities.

So what is a social entrepreneur? A Social Entrepreneur can be defined as a person who establishes an enterprise with the aim of solving social problems or effecting social change (Oxford Dictionary). I would define a social entrepreneur as an individual who creates, develops, and stewards a company that leverages its networks, resources, and profits towards social impact and community development. Dr Stacie and the Faithpreneur® Magazine Cohort will share spirit, mind, and body teachings to anyone seeking divine inspiration to do life and business God’s way.

Smile Share #1: External Smile - I was blessed because I was serving another in ministry. Truth be told, I was hiding behind the serving. God had given many God winks and God whisper to do His thing via me the inspired vessel, but due to regret, shame, guilt, and doubt I operated in fear and kept checking in for other peoples’ advice, opinions, and judgment calls of “girl naw that ain’t you”.

Well the push was all I needed which was a midwife of execution, an act of I am my sistahs keeper. 72 hours of labor pains later, a miracle took place and #StopItSmile was born into the Amazon Hospital of authors. This was the beginning of the boot camp training to stop the lower nature thinking that causes negativity and Simply Make Intentional Love Encounters starting with you vertically then trust God to serve, follow, and or lead others horizontally. Wash, rinse, dry, fold and repeat! Continue to write out the vision and have your boardroom meetings with the Power Team of 3.

What thought will you work on today?

Keep a record and date each God assignment and in turn have a gratitude journal to reward yourself and serve somebody that God says to serve. Ask God to keep it Holy, inspired, and divine! Dream dreams and see every puzzle piece of each glorious moment.

I’ll start with the Smile Thought First: Are you ready to change? This is the catch all, do you have FAITH to believe you are the chosen one. Everyone has an assignment(s) and if God downloaded it to you, then you better bet He will supply all your needs! Blow the dust off your bible and ask Daddy where He wants you to start.

Most of all you will tell yourself that you are grateful for your level of disciplined daily faith!!!!! #IAmAFaithpreneur Smile Share #4: Horizontal Smiles – Urgent, Urgent like verily in the bible when Jesus was talking…I please need your full attention, you cannot do construction of an empire by yourself. You need a support team. Who are the folks on your front porch! Mommie use to let us play late, but she said we had to play on the porch and the kids that were with us were there because their parent knew they were at the Knighten’s front porch.

When the street light came on I had to “get to getting”. Lol, man I miss my mommie, but back to the share. You must Ask, Seek and Knock to Daddy’s cadence for your earthly power team.

Some will be for you and some won’t, so what’s new, next and now. Be vulnerable enough to admit what you don’t know everything and allow the person who is the expert to help you put your puzzle pieces together!

Smile Thought: Relational Currency + Collaborative Measures + Effective Partnerships = Convent Agreements (The agreement with God and continued maturation of your vertical alignment will nurture those 3 elements.) Say this statement out loud: I AM A Smiling FAITHPRENEUR®!

Grant I genuinely enjoyed reading this book not only because of the vivid pictures Mr. Phillips paints with his own life story but due to an uncanny relation between our life stories. Not just to me but any black youth that grew up in a “ Black “ neighborhood. Even the ordinary reader can develop a clear understanding of the simple fact that there is always more than meets the eye when examining all aspects of the black struggle. “ Where you grow up has a direct relation to who you encounter which also has a direct relation to your “success”. Yes Mr. Phillips was able to overcome these odds but at what cost. Not to mention not only rebelling against environmental factors but getting swept up in a conscious effort by our government to incarcerate black and brown men at a higher rate.

This is a story of resilience but also a story of awareness.”Condemnation of vulnerable communities will not change them, especially when we disparage the what without knowing the why. The collective damage of an environment full of violence and absent of validation perpetuates itself ”. If we do not understand the issue how can it really be solved? Mr. Phillips does a great job of providing the necessary context necessary for the reader to come to an informed conclusion not only about the existing problems but existing solutions. “ Education teaches us the what of ourselves, but it cannot tell us the why because knowledge is not synonymous with reason”. His references to african culture create a strong image of the disparity between our “culture” and our heritage along with his emphasis on education I feel a clear message urging us to not only educate ourselves but learn ourselves so that we can become the answer to our own questions.
